Chapter 225 Let Me Lean On

"What? You came to find me? Wait until you leave the movie theater." Fu Jingsheng continued to make up lies.

As expected, she wouldn't give an address, which confirmed Han Yue's suspicions even more. "Then give me a hotel address, and I'll go there."

Fu Jingsheng pushed and shoved, offering various excuses, but he wouldn't reveal the address.

Finally, Han Yue had no choice but to reveal the truth: "We've arrived at Beicheng Station and are staying at a hotel next door. Beicheng isn't very big, so tell me where you are."

Rong Yan was stunned.

My mother-in-law actually brought the children to the north of the city. Was it because she hadn't shown up all day?

She didn't know whether to be touched or nervous. She was touched because someone in the world cared about her so much and noticed something was wrong when she hadn't seen her for a day. She was nervous because her mother-in-law would be even more anxious when she found out she was in the hospital.

Fu Jingsheng was stunned. He looked at the real-time location his mother had sent and realized that they had indeed come to Beicheng.

He gave the hotel address to his mother-in-law, and since it was still early, he figured he could either help his wife get ready or go back to the hotel to deal with things first.

Rong Yan knew she couldn't keep it a secret any longer. Her mother-in-law wouldn't give up until she saw her. One lie leads to countless more. After thinking it over, she confessed.

She was trying so hard to stop coughing that her face was practically bursting.

The woman said in a hoarse voice, "Mom, I'm right here."

"Who are you?" Han Yue had been with her daughter-in-law for so long, how could she not recognize her voice? This was nothing like Rong Yan's.

"Fu Jingsheng, what are you doing?" Han Yue had another thought. Could it be that her son had some bad intentions, and his daughter-in-law caught him? His daughter-in-law left in anger, and her son wanted that person to pretend to be his daughter-in-law to deceive her?

"I am Rong Yan." Rong Yan's voice was weak and she could barely speak. Even if her voice had changed, surely she could be recognized.

Han Yue sneered, "Shut up, Fu Jingsheng. I'm coming right away. If you don't see Rong Yan, you're dead."

She had to tear that vixen apart.

Fu Jingsheng was hung up on by his mother. He shrugged and said, "She probably thinks I brought some shady women to a hotel. My mom's IQ is really worrying."

“Fu Jingsheng, you have absolutely no credibility in your mother’s eyes,” Rong Yan said using lip reading.

"Believe it or not, if I disappeared right now, they'd be celebrating, and they wouldn't even know who their real child is." Fu Jingsheng's jealousy was insatiable.

Rong Yan got out of bed, feeling a little weak. Fu Jingsheng had brought her to the hospital without her bag, so Rong Yan had to rush back to the hotel to put on makeup.

She just didn't expect her mother-in-law to be so fast, arriving ahead of schedule.

As soon as Han Yue arrived at the hotel lobby, she called her son and asked him to bring Rong Yan down immediately, as they would be staying there that night as well.

After parking the car, Fu Jingsheng called his mother back, realizing that it was no longer possible for him to sneak up and touch up his makeup.

Xiao Baihe stayed in the underground parking lot. Fu Jingsheng noticed that there were people at both entrances, which must have been Han Yue's idea.

"Sister?" Xiao Baihe called out uncertainly, looking at the disheveled, pale, and listless woman in front of her. If Fu Jingsheng hadn't been there, she probably wouldn't have recognized her.

"Lily." Rong Yan coughed.

Xiao Baihe then learned that Rong Yan had just returned from the hospital. She wanted to let Rong Yan go upstairs to touch up her makeup first, but she had already made a promise to Han Yue, so Xiao Baihe sent Han Yue a message saying that Rong Yan and the others were in the garage.

Han Yue led the children down to the basement level.

"Rong Yan?"

"Mom, let's go upstairs first." Fu Jingsheng knew his wife couldn't stand, so he would explain to his mother properly when they returned to their room.

Han Yue said with a stern face, "You better give me a reasonable explanation, or I'll cripple you today."

Han Yue and her group's room was three buildings away from Fu Jingsheng's.

A large group of people went upstairs in a grand procession.

When the children discovered that their mother was sick, they all gathered around to show their concern. Their chatter made the already confused woman even more disoriented.

She just wanted to rest quietly.

Rong Yan held her head in despair: "I just had a cold, and I was almost better, but now I feel a little dizzy."

Fu Jingsheng was also being scolded. Han Yue questioned her son, asking why he kept his daughter-in-law's illness a secret, and whether he was afraid to speak up because he hadn't taken good care of Rong Yan.

As an observer, Xiaobaihe felt a buzzing in her ears just listening to it.

Rong Yan pleaded with her for help, giving her several meaningful glances, signaling her to take the children downstairs.

Xiao Baihe, following instructions, put her arm around Fu Yunlei's shoulder and said, "Yunlei, you're the older brother. Take your younger siblings back to their room so Mom can get some rest."

Fu Yunlei finally went on a trip to a city with his mother. He didn't want to leave; he wanted to stay with his mother tonight.

The little boy refused, saying, "I don't want to. Let Dad go downstairs. I want to stay and take care of Mom."

To avoid infecting the children, Rong Yan wore a mask and was almost suffocating, but these guys refused to leave.

“Shiyu, you go down first. This virus is quite fierce. Even Mom, who has such a good constitution, has a fever. You are all young, so keep some distance from Mom. If you get infected, you won’t be able to play.” Rongyan started with her daughter.

Rong Shiyu thought for a moment. She wasn't afraid of getting infected. A good child should stand with her mother through thick and thin. She shook her head and said, "Mom, I'm not afraid. I just want to go home."

Rong Yan: ……

When direct orders didn't work, Rong Yan had to change her tone: "You guys are making a lot of noise here, it's giving me a headache. The patient needs to rest, right?"

“Yes, let Mom rest. There are so many of us,” Xiaobaihe chimed in.

“This is a villa, it must have more than one room, Grandma. We’ll live with Mom. It’s such a waste of money for us to live alone.”

“We have to go back to the hospital in a little while. We wanted to keep it from you, but we didn’t expect to be found out.” Rong Yan coughed a few times. “Only one person can stay in the ward. After the IV drip is finished tomorrow and you feel better, Mom will come back to stay with you, okay?” Rong Yan discussed with the children.

Mom needs to go back to the hospital; there's no point in them staying here.

Several people reluctantly agreed.

Rong Yan packed her makeup bag and returned to the hospital.

That evening, Han Yue handed the children over to Xiao Baihe and personally made soup to take to the hospital.

Rong Yan drank some porridge, but a few hours later, she felt unwell all over. She asked Fu Jingsheng to prepare a large glass of water, but after drinking it, she still felt hot.

The woman tossed and turned on the hospital bed. Fu Jingsheng touched her; her forehead and body were burning hot.

She had a fever again. The man calculated the time and brought Rong Yan some fever-reducing medicine.

Rong Yan wrapped herself in the blanket, trying to sweat it out, but after only a few minutes, she felt like she was about to catch fire, so she kicked off the blanket and turned down the air conditioner temperature.

The doctor said that the symptoms would most likely recur at night, so there was no need to worry and he could just take his medication as usual. However, seeing his wife in so much discomfort, Fu Jingsheng was still uneasy. He called the doctor on duty, who asked a few questions, told him to observe her further, and then left.

Fu Jingsheng kept touching his wife's forehead. Rong Yan felt that his hand was very comfortable. She pressed her face against his and said, "Fu Jingsheng, take off your clothes and let me lean on you."
