At the clinic, Liang Jia received news that Fu's Group was dissolving.
Her first instinct was to call Lu Kai, but the call couldn't be connected. She then tried sending him a message, but received no reply for a long time.
Lu Kai really did go into hiding.
Unable to contact Lu Kai, Liang Jia was very anxious. She sat on the hospital bed, holding her phone and staring blankly, completely unsure of what to do.
The aunt came to deliver the food, and the woman only heard her after being called several times. But looking at the food in the thermos, she had no appetite at all.
After setting up the folding table, the aunt said, "Miss Liang, eat it while it's hot."
Liang Jia picked up her chopsticks, rummaged through them a couple of times, and put them down: "Auntie, I don't have an appetite. You can leave them here, I'll eat them later."
The aunt followed the hostess's instructions, left the thermos, and left the ward. When she came back after washing the clothes, she found that the food had gone cold, but Liang Jia hadn't eaten a single bite.
She thought the dishes weren't to Liang Jia's liking, so she asked the woman what she wanted to eat and asked her to make a new one.
Liang Jia told the aunt not to bother and to sit down and talk to her for a while.
Lu Kai has already left the Lu Mansion. Liang Jia will appear in two days. Before leaving, Lu Kai told the aunt to take good care of Liang Jia while he was away, and to hold them accountable if Liang Jia lost weight.
Liang Jia has not eaten for two meals in a row. It's no wonder she's losing weight. The key is that Liang Jia needs to replenish her nutrition right now. If she doesn't take good care of herself after childbirth, she'll develop health problems later, and they definitely won't be able to explain it to Lu Kai.
Liang Jia knew that Lu Kai meant what he said, and fearing that her aunt would be in a difficult position, she asked her aunt to heat up the food for her, intending to force herself to eat a bite.
But after chewing a few times, she felt nauseous and couldn't eat anymore.
The aunt quickly brought over a trash can: "Miss Liang, if you don't want to eat, then don't."
Liang Jia kept apologizing. She didn't know what was wrong with her. Her stomach was growling, but she just couldn't swallow. She missed Lu Kai, and she felt completely out of sorts when she couldn't see him.
"Auntie, my husband isn't answering my calls. Could you call him for me? I want to talk to him." Liang Jia couldn't be without Lu Kai for a day. Even if she was tormented, it was better than being absent-minded and having wild thoughts like this.
“But,” the aunt hesitated, “the master told us not to call him unless it’s something important.”
"Is it important that I can't eat or sleep?" Liang Jia asked rhetorically, even though she had promised Lu Kai that she would take good care of herself and wait for him to come back.
The aunt thought for a moment and said, "I'll do it."
Lu Kai was in the suburbs, and like Liang Jia, he hadn't eaten all day.
When news of the Fu family reached the man, he instinctively wanted to send it to Liang Jia, but upon opening the chat box and seeing the woman's message, he hesitated.
After getting through the first three days, the two of them were no longer in so much pain, but he had to endure it for Liang Jia's health.
The man put his phone on airplane mode and sat on a recliner, closing his eyes to rest.
After the aunt dialed Lu Kai's number, she heard the same "cannot be connected" message on the phone.
"Miss Liang, the gentleman isn't answering," the aunt said, turning on the speakerphone.
"It seems he's worried I might use your phones to call, and he really doesn't want to see me anymore." Liang Jia held her head. "Auntie, what should I do?"
Liang Jia started crying again. The aunt looked at her helplessly: "Miss Liang, you can't do this. If you wait for your husband to come back like this, he will definitely kick me out."
"I want to leave him a message, I want to film a video so he can see that I'm not doing well without him. Not only am I not doing well, I'm even worse than before." Liang Jia said with tears streaming down her face as she filmed, expressing how much she missed Lu Kai.
In the evening, the man turned off airplane mode and saw the message from Liang Jia.
She hadn't eaten a single meal in three days, her face was streaked with tears, and she was disheveled. In the video, Liang Jia asked Lu Kai to talk to her, but she couldn't see him or touch him. This feeling was too unbearable, and Liang Jia said she couldn't go on living.
Lu Kai left hoping Liang Jia could recover, but it backfired; the woman looked even worse than before. In that case, what was the point of his departure?
The man finally couldn't resist and called Liang Jia.
Seeing the familiar name on the caller ID, Liang Jia cried and laughed at the same time: "Sir, you've finally answered my call."
“Jiajia, why are you being so disobedient? I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to control myself if I were around you, so I moved out. How can I be at ease with you like this? Your health is too weak.” Lu Kai scolded the woman, but then added with heartache, “I’m not at ease with you outside either.”
"Sir, please come back. We won't live together. Just being able to see you every day is enough. I'll stay here forever. There are so many doctors here; nothing will happen between us," Liang Jia murmured softly.
Lu Kai was already somewhat hesitant, and when the woman put on a tearful act, he replied, "Okay, I'll go to the hospital to see you right away."
Upon hearing that Lu Kai was coming, Liang Jia finally smiled.
She asked her aunt to bring her makeup bag; she wanted to put on makeup so as not to scare Lu Kai.
The clinic is located in the suburbs, about an hour's drive away.
As soon as Lu Kai parked his car, he ran upstairs. Upon seeing Liang Jia, he sat down next to her and, ignoring the aunt's presence, immediately hugged the woman.
“Sir.” Liang Jia buried her head in the man’s neck and shoulder, her voice trembling slightly, “You’ve finally come.”
Lu Kai released the woman and stroked her cheek: "Why are you so disobedient?"
He then said to the aunt, "Auntie, bring the food, I'll feed her."
"Okay!" The aunt happily went to heat up the food.
Liang Jia stared intently at Lu Kai, as if the man would run away if she blinked, her hand gripping his wrist tightly. "Sir, I'll be at the hospital tonight. If you're worried about hurting me, stay at the Lu Mansion and come see me tomorrow, okay? I can't rest easy without you. I can't eat, I can't sleep, and I'm afraid when I close my eyes..."
"Okay, I'll move out after you're discharged from the hospital and back at the Lu Mansion. Jiajia, I can't let anything happen to you for at least the next two weeks."
Liang Jia kissed the man's trembling lips: "I'm not afraid. Not seeing you is worse than death."
"Jiajia, stay away from me, I'm afraid I can't control myself." Lu Kai pushed the woman away.
But Liang Jia quickly moved closer and continued kissing the man's lips: "Just kiss me, let me feel you. Today, I was so scared, like a person in a desolate valley, crying out to heaven and earth in vain. Sir, I can touch you now."
The woman's lips were warm. Lu Kai closed his eyes and unconsciously stuck out his tongue, prying open her pearly teeth, and their tongues intertwined.
The man accidentally touched the woman's soft breasts, and he covered them with his palm, gently caressing them.
"Mmm..." the woman made a sound of pleasure.
The moans made Lu Kai's mind race, and he reached directly into Liang Jia's clothes, skillfully unhooking her bra.
"Sir, the food is ready." The aunt pushed open the door and saw Chun Guang in the ward, blushing as she called out.
Lu Kai quickly let go and helped Liang Jia pull her clothes up.
