Chapter 352 Don't Give Charity

Li Yun frowned. He was a businessman, so he naturally valued money highly, but he just couldn't swallow this insult.

Even though he had already hired someone to beat up Guo An, the thought of how Lin Wei feigned affection when he confessed his feelings to her, while actually being engaged to someone else, made him feel like a joke.

If you can forget that humiliation, it's worth any amount of money.

Indeed, a smart person like Fu Jingsheng wouldn't believe in something as easy as a free lunch. Li Yun wondered whether he should contact Fu Jingsheng directly and reveal his identity and purpose.

Fu Jingsheng was busy until evening, and when he got home, Rong Yan and the others had already finished eating.

He called his wife out from his mother's bedroom.

Han Yue, who had just exchanged a few words with her daughter-in-law, saw her son trying to take Rong Yan away from her as soon as he got home. She glared at Fu Jingsheng and said, "You come home and don't eat first? You go looking for Rong Yan first. Can Rong Yan eat?"

"Eat first. Mom and I have some things to do. We'll come find you after we're done." Rong Yan stood between the two of them, afraid that they would argue.

Fu Jingsheng was reluctant, but Rong Yan whispered something in his ear, and the man suddenly smiled and immediately agreed.

After Zhao Wenbai, Han Yue found no man pleasing to the eye, always feeling that those people approached her with ulterior motives. Now that everyone knows that the Fu family has collapsed and she has nothing left, she no longer suspects other people's intentions.

Recently, she did meet a nice person who resembled Fu Jingsheng's father. Han Yue asked her daughter-in-law to analyze whether the person was interested in her.

The two met a few times, and every time Han Yue saw that person, her deceased husband would appear in her mind.

Han Yue said that over the years, Lao Deng was the only person who made her want to settle down, and she no longer wanted to travel around.

Rong Yan listened carefully and analyzed the situation for her mother-in-law. Before she could finish speaking, Fu Jingsheng returned.

The man ate alone, quickly finishing his meal in twenty minutes, and then sat in the living room watching TV while waiting for his wife to come out.

Rong Yan checked the time every now and then, and when she thought it was about time, she told Han Yue and came out.

"Finished talking?" Fu Jingsheng asked.

"Yes, son, Rongyan just told me about the new factory area. You've worked hard." Fu Jingsheng really didn't expect his mother to say such a thing.

He was initially quite angry, but his mood improved upon hearing this. However, he still stubbornly insisted, "My mother actually cares about me? Isn't she only concerned about her daughter-in-law and grandson?"

"You brat, stop being so sarcastic. Keep up the good work, Mom believes in you." Han Yue's eyes were firm.

"Speaking of work, let's talk about it together." Fu Jingsheng wanted to hear his mother's opinion.

He recounted the phone call he received that afternoon.

Han Yue and Rong Yan said in unison, "We do not accept charity."

With such perfect understanding, the two looked at each other and smiled after speaking.

Fu Jingsheng shared the same thought as them. He slowly said, "I thought so too. I didn't expect you to agree with me. I thought you would blame me for not seizing the opportunity."

Han Yue's smile deepened: "No one accepts a reward without merit; there's no such thing as a free lunch."

Rong Yan nodded; what her mother-in-law said was exactly what she wanted to say.

"I'm going out now, just for a final relaxation before taking care of my grandson." Han Yue packed some fruit from home and left.

Fu Jingsheng was about to ask why he was taking fruit out when Rong Yan covered his mouth.

"Honey, let's go upstairs." Rong Yan had work to do later, so she wanted to do what she had promised her husband first.

Fu Jingsheng raised an eyebrow: "Let's go."

Rong Yan took a clean set of clothes from the walk-in closet and placed it on the footstool in the bedroom.

She told Fu Jingsheng that she would give him a massage to relax that night, but Fu Jingsheng added that she also needed to take a bath, as she had been dealing with dirt all day and was very dirty.

Fu Jingsheng filled the bathtub with water himself. Afraid that his wife would touch his dirty clothes, he took them off first and threw them into the laundry basket.

Rong Yan came over after getting ready and saw that her husband was already sitting in the bathtub.

She took the acupressure needle, a skill she learned from Lin Wei, though she only learned the basics. She had used it on herself and found it quite comfortable. Since Fu Jingsheng had been doing physical labor these past few days, she wanted to help him relax.

Fu Jingsheng leaned back against the bathtub, the warm water enveloping him, making his body feel relaxed and limp. He even felt sleepy.

The man squinted; he used to enjoy taking baths when he was under a lot of work pressure.

Rong Yan walked silently. When she put her hand on the man's shoulder, he was startled. Fu Jingsheng splashed water on Rong Yan.

"Honey, did I scare you?" Rong Yan asked, covering her face.

Fu Jingsheng turned around and took Rong Yan's hand: "I just dozed off for a while, wife, how about we stop pressing and take a shower together?"

Rong Yan subconsciously took a step back: "No, I'm exhausted after a long day, and I still want to think about that? Don't you want to die? Turn around."

"Okay." Fu Jingsheng sat down obediently.

Rong Yan moved a stool and sat behind her husband.

She started massaging Fu Jingsheng in a very professional manner.

Whether the acupoints were accurate or not, I heard Fu Jingsheng say "Comfortable" from time to time.

Not long after, the man started snoring.

Rong Yan was worried that Fu Jingsheng would catch a cold, so she kept adding hot water to the bathtub. But then she felt that it was too wasteful to keep doing this, so she gently shook her husband's arm and said, "Honey, go to the bedroom to sleep."

Fu Jingsheng opened his eyes and wiped his mouth: "I was asleep?"

He stood up, wiped the water droplets off, and as Rong Yan brought him clean pajamas to help him put them on, her fingers touched his skin, and he immediately grabbed her hand: "You've been dozing off for a while, but you look very energetic," Fu Jingsheng said.

Rong Yan pulled her hand away: "That won't do either. Listen to me, rest today, or I'll get angry."

Fu Jingsheng pouted and said, "Okay."

Sure enough, Fu Jingsheng fell asleep again after only a few minutes. Rong Yan glanced at the time, just past eight o'clock, and looked at her husband who was sleeping soundly. Her heart ached slightly.

In the evening, Han Yue and Lao Deng made plans to go square dancing.

Han Yue used to think that square dancing was for the elderly, and she wasn't considered elderly, but after meeting Lao Deng, she joined the ranks of square dancers.

Old Deng was the lead dancer. Standing on the steps, he had a strong voice, which attracted Han Yue.

After the dance ended, Lao Deng walked over to Han Yue, led her to the speaker, and took out a bouquet of flowers from a bag next to him and gave it to Han Yue.

Those who saw it started to jeer.

Han Yue lowered her head shyly: "Old Deng, what are you doing?"

The outgoing man, ignoring the stares of those around him, said, "Xiao Han, these flowers are for you. I hope you like them. If you don't, I'll get a different bouquet next time."

"Collect! Collect! Collect!" someone nearby answered on his behalf.

As more and more people gathered to watch the spectacle, Han Yue took the flowers and said, "Please stop laughing at me, everyone."

A group of people praised Lao Deng in unison, and Han Yue could tell that Lao Deng was indeed a very good person.

"Don't put pressure on Han Yue, go dance." Old Deng noticed that Han Yue was embarrassed, so he sent everyone away and then apologized to Han Yue, saying that he originally wanted everyone to know his attitude towards Han Yue, but he didn't expect these people to make Han Yue accept him.

"I'm going home." Han Yue ran off.
