Rong Yan shook her head firmly.
She wasn't being polite to Ye Jianming; she just didn't want the Fu family's affairs to drag down the Ye family.
Who knows what kind of crises we will face in the future?
Ye Jianming sighed heavily: "Alright, you can go anytime you want."
"I know." Rong Yan raised her chin and smiled.
After entering the residential area, Zhou Luo picked up her package at the delivery station. To prevent Rong Bing from causing trouble again while she was away, she bought a security camera.
Installation was very simple; a woman who was used to living alone installed it effortlessly.
She looked at her work with satisfaction, then went back inside, where she saw the unread messages and two missed calls.
Fu Jingchen asked her if she had arrived home yet.
The woman replied, "I'm home. I was busy and didn't see the message."
The man, who had already arrived at the residential area, waited in his car.
[I bought you brown sugar, uterine warming patches, and a hot water bottle...] Fu Jingchen typed three lines.
Zhou Luo immediately understood. She didn't want to have dinner with Fu Jingchen, so she made up an excuse. Fu Jingchen actually took it to heart and thoughtfully prepared so many things.
This man was so thoughtful; her feelings for Fu Jingchen grew even stronger.
But her period hadn't started yet, so how could she explain it away? It was a woman's problem... Zhou Luo thought for a moment, then realized that she'd been in a bad mood lately, so she'd say it was nodules.
She was just about to reply that it wasn't that issue when Fu Jingchen sent another message: "I'm in your neighborhood. I didn't come upstairs without your permission. Can I deliver your things to you?"
"Okay, come up here," Zhou Luo replied.
Fu Jingchen was in a great mood when he saw the news, and his steps became lighter when he got out of the car.
He made a point of fixing his hair in front of the rearview mirror before going up.
Zhou Luo sweated a lot while installing the surveillance cameras. She smelled her clothes and they smelled bad, so the woman immediately changed into her pajamas.
Hearing the doorbell ring, she ran to open the door.
Fu Jingchen was carrying two bags.
Besides what he mentioned, Zhou Luo seemed to see lettuce sprouting from the bag.
Just as she was wondering if she had misread it, Fu Jingchen said, "I bought some groceries. Aren't girls supposed to avoid cold water at this age? Takeout isn't healthy, nutrition is very important. I didn't know what you like to eat, so I bought some of everything. Would it be convenient to borrow your kitchen?"
Zhou Luo: "Huh?"
Her mouth gaped open as she stared at Fu Jingchen in disbelief.
"Is that okay? I'll clean it up. My cooking isn't bad either," Fu Jingchen repeated.
"Oh, okay." Zhou Luo agreed for some reason. She seemed to have no power to object and just watched Fu Jingchen come in carrying two bags.
She even locked the door.
Zhou Luo rarely cooks at home, but she always has all the necessary household necessities.
Fu Jingchen can cook? She'd never heard of that. Could it be that he cooks worse than she does?
As Zhou Luo stood at the kitchen door, a series of images flashed through his mind.
Fu Jingchen turned around and asked, "Can all these pots be used?"
The woman finally came to her senses and said, "Yes, everything works. The seasonings are in the cabinet to your right, and the bowls and chopsticks are in the cabinet to your left. But, are you really good at cooking? Shall I cook?"
"We'll find out soon enough." Fu Jingchen's lips curled up. His cooking skills were not as good as a chef's, but when he was in the Fu family, he was much better than Fu Jingsheng and the others. His cooking was praised by the family's housekeeper.
Even after I moved out, I still do it occasionally.
"Oh." Zhou Luo leaned against the door frame, looking like he was about to watch a good show.
"Go wait outside, it's too smoky in here." Fu Jingchen told the woman to leave after she had been staring at him for a while.
Zhou Luo sat back down.
The kitchen was filled with the sounds of chopping vegetables, oil splattering, and spatulas... Judging from the rhythm, Fu Jingchen was quite busy.
So Zhou Luo went over and asked again, "Are you sure you don't want help?"
"No need, the ingredients are all prepared, just waiting to be cooked," Fu Jingchen said confidently.
Zhou Luo tiptoed and looked at the stove. There were several basins on it, filled with chopped vegetables, looking quite presentable.
"Okay, I'm going out now." The woman left with peace of mind.
She turned on the TV to watch for a while, but found that she couldn't concentrate at all; all she could see were images of Fu Jingchen busy at work.
It's been a very, very long time since anyone has gone to such lengths because of a casual remark.
Zhou Luo was somewhat moved.
If Fu Jingchen really has that skill, her affection for men will increase by another point.
Zhou Luo began to look forward to it.
Fu Jingchen turned on two gas stoves at the same time, one for stir-frying and the other for making soup.
Most of the dishes and soups are also suitable for menstruation.
For example, black chicken soup, spinach, wood ear mushrooms...
Zhou Luo waited for half an hour before Fu Jingchen finally came out.
He smiled and said, "There's only soup left, so we'll have to wait a bit."
The stir-fried dishes were served one by one, and they looked quite appetizing.
The house was filled with the aroma of food.
As Zhou Luo picked up the bowls and chopsticks, she said, "They look very good. Impressive, President Fu."
"Right now, it's just Fu Jingchen. I'm not bragging, the taste will absolutely surprise you." The man said confidently.
"Let's eat together." Zhou Luo picked up his chopsticks, eager to take a bite.
Fu Jingchen sat down: "Can I have dinner with you?"
Zhou Luo laughed: "What nonsense are you asking? Do you think I'm just going to cook for you and then leave without eating? There's so much food."
"Oh, okay." The man sat down.
Zhou Luo picked up the eggplant with minced meat in front of him, chewed it, and gave it a thumbs up: "Delicious, much better than takeout."
Eggplant is my favorite food.
Then she tried the other dishes, and each one tasted authentic.
Seeing the woman's satisfied expression, Fu Jingchen was overjoyed.
“I didn’t know what you liked to eat, but spinach, wood ear mushrooms… are good to eat during your period, so I bought them,” Fu Jingchen explained.
Zhou Luo almost choked. She swallowed the food in her mouth and said, "I didn't even know that eating these things during menstruation is good. You know so much."
"Don't misunderstand, I didn't know either before. You looked it up after get off work." Fu Jingchen was afraid that Zhou Luo would mistakenly think that he knew these things because of Rong Bing.
"Really?" the woman asked, half-believing.
"Yes, I can swear."
“No need, I believe you. Fu Jingchen, who did you learn your cooking skills from? Let me tell you, my cooking is terrible.” Zhou Luo was completely taken aback.
Fu Jingchen told Zhou Luo about his time in the Fu family.
“Cooking really does require talent. By the way, I also have something to tell you.” Zhou Luo put down his chopsticks, his expression serious.
Fu Jingchen thought Zhou Luo didn't like him going to the community on his own initiative and wanted to set some rules.
Zhou Luo then said, "I'm not on my period. I've just been feeling down lately, and my breasts are sore and tender. I might have nodules, or my period might be coming soon."
"Huh?" The man, who had misunderstood, opened his eyes wide.
"You've been so busy, I didn't have a chance to say anything, but the food was delicious. I'll keep these things; I'll definitely need them next time," Zhou Luo said apologetically. "I'm sorry I didn't explain clearly, and I made you work for nothing."
"It wasn't a waste of time, but you're not feeling well and need to see a doctor. I'll give you the day off tomorrow so you can go get checked out."
