Chapter 386 Timely Loss Mitigation

After hearing Zhou Luo's explanation, everyone lost interest in the position of personal assistant.

They were even relieved that they hadn't received any "special treatment".

Liu Yi was skeptical, but she thought everything would be clear once she received her salary.

Lunch break.

Zhou Luo had lunch with her colleagues from the HR department, just like always.

There was just one more thing to do before lunch: deliver Fu Jingchen's lunch to his office.

After putting down the lunchbox, Zhou Luo dashed out of the office before the man could even speak.

Rong Bing called the company again at noon, but she didn't expect Fu Jingchen to keep his word. Before she even entered the gate, she was stopped.

No matter how pitiful the security guards were, they remained unmoved.

Rong Bing had no choice but to borrow a passerby's phone to call Fu Jingchen and threaten him, saying that he either had to come upstairs or she had to come downstairs, otherwise she would lie on the ground and roll around, since she had no face left anyway, but whether Fu Jingchen wanted to have face or not was up to him to choose.

Fu Jingchen choked on a mouthful of food and coughed violently.

He knew Rong Bing's ability to act shamelessly; she was capable of anything if she couldn't see him.

Fu Jingchen came down.

Seeing the man approach, Rong Bing beamed with joy: "Jing Chen."

She knew that Fu Jingchen couldn't possibly never see her again.

Unlike his previous stern expression, Fu Jingchen's demeanor softened slightly when facing Rong Bing.

He concealed his disgust and asked in a gentle voice, "Did you need something?"

Rong Bing's eyes instantly welled up with tears. How long had it been since Fu Jingchen had spoken to her like this?

She rubbed her eyes. She wasn't mistaken; Fu Jingchen had indeed smiled at her.

The woman, leaning on her cane, stepped forward: "Jingchen, you've finally calmed down. Let's have a good talk."

"Yes, we should have a good talk. We can't solve anything by getting emotional. Haven't you eaten yet?" Fu Jingchen asked.

"No," Rong Bing said.

"What would you like to eat? Something nearby. I only have an hour to rest at noon." Fu Jingchen glanced at his watch.

"It's fine, you decide." Rong Bing thought that her relationship with Fu Jingchen had finally taken a turn for the better.

Fu Jingchen remembered that Rong Bing didn't like noodles, so he found a local farmhouse restaurant.

I ordered three dishes that women like to eat.

After Fu Jingchen's attitude improved, Rong Bing's tone also became gentler.

She moved closer to the man.

Fu Jingchen knew her intention, so he didn't dodge. Instead, he pretended to wash the dishes and distanced himself from Rong Bing.

"Jingchen, you still remember my preferences," Rong Bing said after the dishes were served.

"When I treat you to dinner, of course I'll order what you like. How can I be a boss if I'm not thoughtful?" Fu Jingchen implied that he didn't deliberately remember Rong Bing's preferences; it was just his personality.

Although the man's attitude had improved, Rong Bing still felt that something was wrong.

Rong Bing didn't directly ask Fu Jingchen if they could reconcile, but her words conveyed that meaning.

Fu Jingchen deliberately ignored the conversation, guessing that the man was pretending to be stupid.

Finally, Rong Bing asked bluntly, "Do we still have a chance?"

Fu Jingchen did not directly deny it.

Instead, he first recited all of Rong Bing's good points, and then used a transition at the end.

“But we’re not a good match, and I can’t give you happiness. I want to get better first.” Fu Jingchen said, making an excuse that he needed to see a urologist.

Rong Bing bit her lip. During the argument, she said that Fu Jingchen was no good and that she had never been full. She knew that men couldn't stand such words, and that she had hurt Fu Jingchen's pride.

But she didn't mean it. She was so angry at the time that she lost her temper and said those things.

Fu Jingchen's marital life couldn't satisfy her, but that wasn't what she was after when she was with a man.

She held Fu Jingchen's hand: "If I said I didn't mind, would you believe me? You definitely wouldn't, would you? I swear, I was just saying that out of anger. What I care about most is you as a person, not this, really..."

Fu Jingchen withdrew his hand: "Bingbing, but this is also very important. A harmonious sex life is essential for a lasting relationship. You should find a normal person. I can't even hold my head up in front of you anymore. Everyone in the company knows I'm only good for three minutes, and you said this in front of everyone."

Fu Jingchen looked like a victim.

Rong Bing already knew she was wrong. No matter how angry she was, she shouldn't have talked about their private matters in front of outsiders. How could she be so stupid?

“Jing Chen, it’s too late for anything I say or do, but I was really confused by anger and that’s why I said those things. I know you won’t forgive me, but please believe me, I never really cared about this,” Rong Bing continued to explain.

“I don’t blame you. I’m just not good enough. You just told the truth. If you’re sick, go see a doctor. Bingbing, if we get back together, people will criticize us. We can’t go back.” Fu Jingchen emphasized the blow that incident had to him. “Now, whenever I go to the bathroom, I despise myself whenever I see it.”

“I even think I’m not a man. The words you said keep popping into my head, like needles pricking me. Seeing you makes me feel even more useless. I can’t even hold my head up in front of my colleagues…” Fu Jingchen overacted. He frowned and punched his leg.

"Jing Chen, don't hit yourself. I understand. I'll stay away from you from now on." Rong Bing grabbed the man's arm.

As they left the restaurant, Fu Jingchen opened his arms and said, "Give me a hug, Bingbing. I wish you happiness in the future."

Rong Bing leaned against Fu Jingchen's chest and cried, "I won't be happy without you, but I will endure not looking for you so that you can be happy."

Fu Jingchen called a car for Rong Bing, and when he saw her get in and turn around, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.

Rong Bing probably won't contact me again.

Rong Bing became increasingly upset, and she started crying in the taxi while calling Chen Xiu.

Chen Xiu sent Rong Bing to their company.

The woman took an hour off to come out.

Upon learning that Rong Bing had just had dinner with Fu Jingchen, the two officially broke up.

Chen Xiu said happily, "I've finally figured it out. Why cry? I should be happy."

Why should we be happy?

"He doesn't love you anymore, can't you tell? Maybe he used to love you, but ever since you went to the company, he's always helping other people, so he's stopped loving you. It's better to cut your losses now. I'll take you out for a walk tonight to clear your head. By the way, I have a friend who's single and a pretty nice guy. Shall I introduce him to you?" Chen Xiu hadn't liked Fu Jingchen much before.

Although this person helped Rong Bing at a few crucial moments, he mostly abandoned her.

Rong Bing had cried countless times for him, but Chen Xiu always felt that love was a beautiful thing. If the pain outweighed the joy, why bother finding someone? It would be better to stay single.

Rong Bing couldn't get over it right away, so she refused, saying, "Let's talk about it later, but you can have a drink with me. I want to get over it before he does."

Unbeknownst to the woman, Fu Jingchen, who had returned to the company, was on a date with someone else.

Zhou Luo went to collect Fu Jingchen's lunchbox after lunch, but Fu Jingchen stopped her.

He locked the door.
