Chapter 482 I'm too full

Ye Jianming turned his head and sneezed.

I always feel like someone is talking about me.

He glanced at the customers in the shop out of the corner of his eye; it seemed no one was paying attention to him.

"Is he looking at us?" Qin Meng almost met Fu Jingchen's gaze.

Zhao Rong saw it too, and her heart was pounding: "Yes, yes, he secretly glanced at me, he noticed me."

"Be reserved." Qin Meng tapped the table.

The coffee arrived shortly afterward, and Zhao Rong calmly said thank you.

After finishing his work for a while, Ye Jianming sat down outside the shop.

From Zhao Rong's position, you could see half of his body.

He was lying on the chair with a book covering his face, giving off a sense of peace and tranquility.

When the welcome message sounded outside the door, Ye Jianming knew a guest had arrived, so he moved the book aside and opened his eyes.

“Ye Jianming, you’re quite dashing.” Rong Yan stood in front of the man.

"You two are really something, arriving so early." Ye Jianming's tone changed abruptly after recognizing who it was. "Fu Jingsheng, I told you to get a membership last time. I told you, you'd definitely be a regular customer."

"You're going to charge me for a few hundred dollars?" Fu Jingsheng rolled his eyes. "Let's go, let's go right now."

“You two start bickering the moment you meet. Ye Jianming isn’t drinking coffee today. Where’s Rong Bing? I’m taking her out for a walk to clear her head.” Rong Yan stood between the two of them.

“She’s in the classroom.” Ye Jianming raised an eyebrow. “You took Rong Bing out, so it’s inconvenient for Fu Jingsheng to come along, right? Old Fu, you stay here. I’ve improved that drink you thought didn’t look good yesterday…”

"I have something to do. I need to buy office supplies. Rong Yan, I'm leaving." Fu Jingsheng made up a reason casually.

"Old Fu..."

Zhao Rong couldn't hear the specific content of the conversation, but she knew that Ye Jianming's voice was quite loud and his expressions were very rich.

Unlike his quiet demeanor just now, he was now chatting and laughing, radiating sunshine, as if he were a completely different person.

"They seem to be arguing," Qin Meng said, hooking Zhao Rong's finger around hers.

"I can tell from their voices, those are Rong Yan and Fu Jingsheng. The three of them are very close. I think Ye Jianming is more down-to-earth this way." In Zhao Rong's eyes, Ye Jianming has no flaws.

"I forgot, you're no longer capable of thinking. Do you want to say hello to Rong Yan?"

"No, I don't want Rong Yan to notice." Zhao Rong lowered her head and drank her coffee.

After exchanging a few words with Ye Jianming, Rong Yan went to the classroom.

Rong Bing was focused on her work and didn't see her sister coming over.

Rong Yan leaned on the table and stuck her head in: "Bingbing."

After being called three times, Rong Bing finally looked up, her expression surprised: "Sister, what brings you here?"

“There’s nothing going on at the clinic, so I came to check on you. Why didn’t you stay home and rest for a couple more days?” Rong Yan asked.

"When I'm at home with nothing to do, I tend to overthink things," Rong Bing said honestly.

Rong Yan reached out her hand: "Put work aside for now, I'll take you somewhere."

“But…” Rong Bing wanted to say that Ye Jianming’s arrangements had not yet been completed.

But Rong Yan interrupted him halfway through his sentence: "Work isn't urgent, we can do it when we get back."

"Oh, okay." Rong Bing didn't dare to refuse Rong Yan.

Rong Yan drove, and Rong Bing sat in the passenger seat.

"Sister, where are you taking me?" Rong Bing asked as the car entered the provincial highway.

You'll know when you get there.

The car stopped in front of a large courtyard in the evening.

From the outside, the courtyard looked somewhat dilapidated. Inside, there were low, single-story houses with white paint on the walls, indicating that they hadn't been renovated recently.

"Sister Rongyan is here."

"elder sister."

"DouDou, MiLi... Sister RongYan is here, come out quickly!"

...

Suddenly, two children playing in the yard saw Rong Yan and shouted happily.

Rong Yan bent down and hugged her child who was running towards her.

Rong Bing was stunned. Who were these children? How did they know Rong Yan? And where was this place? She had never been here before?

"Sister Rongyan, who is she?" the skinny little boy asked, pointing at Rong Bing.

"Let me introduce you, this is my younger sister, Rong Bing," Rong Yan said with a smile.

“Rong Bing, these are the children I sponsor, five in total. None of them are from Tiancheng. Their parents work in Tiancheng. Some are uneducated and can only sweep the streets, some are disabled and can only do temporary work, and some have intellectual disabilities and have to be taken care of by their children…” Rong Yan introduced them one by one.

She knew that Rong Bing couldn't imagine their situation if she only told her.

So I asked DouDou, "DouDou, is Mommy home?"

DouDou's mother has intellectual disabilities and needs constant care; she generally doesn't go out.

“Yes, Mom is watching TV,” DouDou said. “Mom has been quite well-behaved lately. She doesn’t hit people or litter anymore. I’ll take you to see her.”

Rong Bing followed and entered one of the rooms.

The room wasn't big; it contained two beds, a wardrobe, a small table, and a few chairs.

Someone came in, but the woman sitting in the chair did not react.

DouDou ran over and said, "Mommy, Sister Rongyan is here."

The woman then turned her head and smiled foolishly.

The little boy, who was less than 1.1 meters tall, took out a kettle of hot water from under the table and poured tea for Rong Yan and the others.

Their movements were so practiced it was heartbreaking.

Rong Bing doesn't have children, but in her memory, parents wouldn't even allow a child that age to touch a thermos.

"Sister, I fried potatoes myself today, do you want some?" Dou Dou asked, taking out the covered potatoes after pouring out the water.

Fry potatoes yourself? Rong Bing was even more shocked.

Noticing the change in Rong Bing's expression, Rong Yan patted Dou Dou's head and said, "Sister isn't hungry. Let's go check on Duo Duo and the others."

After visiting several companies, each one was worse than the last.

"Dou Dou, you guys go play. I'll talk to Mom for a bit." Rong Yan sent the children away and secretly slipped the cash she brought to the adults in the family. When the adults weren't home, she put the money under her pillow and took a picture of it before sending it to them.

Rong Yan stayed in the courtyard for forty minutes, hugged all the children, and when she left, the children saw her to the door and watched her car leave before going inside.

"Sister, I understand." Rong Bing took the initiative to speak to Rong Yan.

“What you see today is their improved situation. You don’t know what it was like at the beginning. The house was full of garbage and smelled terrible. Children were eating things from the garbage cans. They even lived in public toilets…” Rong Yan felt nauseous as she described these scenes.

“You know what? People tend to overthink when they’re too full. Their wishes are simple: that their children have enough to eat, wear, and go to school. They don’t care about love or romance. We don’t have to worry about food or clothing. We can even choose what we like to eat and what we want to bring home. We’re already happier than most people.” Rong Yan hoped that Rong Bing could shift her focus.

"Sister, you're right. I'm just being silly. If I'm not even full, I'll only be thinking about how to fill my stomach. I won't be in the mood to worry about whether a man has left me. I suddenly feel quite happy. I'm all alone and can take good care of myself."
