Rong Bing had insomnia the night before.
Because of excitement.
She tried sending Lin Feng a message: "I'm so happy today! I cleaned the yard and invited my sister and her family over for lunch tomorrow. I wish you were here; I want you to see it for yourself."
Unexpectedly, Raymond Lam replied instantly: "It's midnight, why aren't you asleep? How about I talk to you for a while?"
"Lin Feng, you're here." Rong Bing exclaimed in surprise.
Lin Feng opened the video call and chatted until Rong Bing fell asleep. When the woman woke up in the morning, she found her phone lying on the pillow, but the camera was still on.
She quickly hung up, wondering if she snored or ground her teeth at night. If she was very tired, this would happen, and it would be so embarrassing if Lin Feng heard it.
Lin Feng closed the chat window with Rong Bing in the background, turned the volume down to the lowest level, placed his phone next to the computer, arranged his work, and then closed the computer.
When he tried to check if Rong Bing had gotten up, he found that the video call had been disconnected.
That's fine, he was just thinking of sneaking into Tiancheng to give the woman a surprise.
According to Rong Bing, Rong Yan and the others will also be there today. Lin Feng thoughtfully bought some toys and a bouquet of flowers.
Rong Yan went to the old house first thing in the morning after getting up.
The aunties were already busy preparing, while Rong Bing sat in the courtyard.
Rong Yan stepped one foot across the threshold and immediately saw Rong Bing.
"Good morning," she greeted.
"Good morning, sister." Rong Bing stood up happily and went to take Rong Yan's arm.
Rong Yan greeted the aunties again, and then said, "Bingbing, I'll say goodbye to my mom and the others first."
Her adoptive mother's portrait hung in the living room. Rong Yan knelt down and kowtowed several times, calling out, "Mom, I'm back. I'll come back to see you more often in the future."
After paying respects to her foster mother, Rong Yan kowtowed to her grandmother and aunt.
Finally, I went back to my room and took a look.
It's likely that Rong Bing had someone clean the room after she returned, as Rong Yan's room was spotless.
"Sister, I've restored you to your original state," Rong Bing said, standing by the door.
Rong Yan's room was the smallest in the entire old house, but it was filled with bookshelves, the books of which she had already moved out.
This place contains all her childhood memories.
A ray of sunlight streamed in through the small window, illuminating a corner of the desk, which had several holes in it.
Rong Yan reached out and touched it.
"Sister, open the drawer." Rong Bing put Rong Yan's award certificate back.
Rong Yan remembered that she had already moved all her things out, so what was left in the drawer? She opened it and a stack of yellowed certificates of merit came into view.
"Didn't you burn these?" When Rong Yan returned home after graduating from university, she found that all her certificates of merit were missing. Rong Bing told her that her mother always compared her to Rong Yan, and in a fit of anger, she burned all the certificates of merit.
Those certificates recording her achievements were very important to Rong Yan. Because of this, she hit Rong Bing for the first time and was angry for several months.
"I didn't burn it, I hid it." Rong Bing did intend to burn it, but when she lit the fire, she stopped for some reason.
She hid the certificate deep in her drawer.
The recovered certificate brought tears to Rong Yan's eyes.
She held them in her hands, flipping through them one by one, as if they were precious treasures.
Before noon, Fu Jingsheng brought all the children who were attending the extracurricular classes over.
Children love new things.
They had been here before, but hadn't come back for a long time. When they arrived at the old house, they were still filled with a sense of novelty, and the group touched and looked around.
Fu Jingsheng followed behind.
11 o'clock.
Lin Feng found his way here using the address from yesterday.
During the day, you can see the house more clearly.
Rong Bing's hometown is quite unique, with blue brick walls, dark red wooden doors, and plants wrapped around the door frames. Perhaps because it is winter, the vines of the plants are withered and yellow, and it is impossible to tell what kind of flowers they are. I guess next spring when the flowers bloom, this place will be a beautiful sea of flowers.
Lin Feng stood at the door and called out, "Rong Bing."
The children, who were playing happily, came over together when they heard the shout: "Who are you?"
Lin Feng looked at the children in front of him who looked similar and said, "You must be Lei Ting and Yu Mo."
"Uncle, how do you know us? Who are you?"
At this moment, Rong Bing also heard the shouts. She came out of the room and saw Lin Feng.
The woman rubbed her eyes hard: "Lin Feng, it really is you."
Unexpectedly, Raymond Lam actually came.
Ignoring the stares of the crowd, Rong Bing walked up to him and said, "I'm so glad you could come."
Lin Feng took the woman's hand and said, "I'm glad you're welcome."
"Wait a minute, I have something for everyone." Lin Feng returned to the car, opened the trunk, distributed the toys to the children, and then went to the back seat to give Rong Bing the roses he had prepared.
Fu Yunlei understood as soon as he saw the red roses: "Mom, Mom, Uncle is here."
Rong Bing grabbed Fu Yunlei's clothes: "What uncle-in-law?!"
Looking at Raymond Lam, he couldn't stop smiling.
Rong Yan and Fu Jingsheng walked over together.
Rong Bing blushed as she introduced her boyfriend to them.
"Not bad," Rong Yan whispered in her sister's ear.
Next, Rong Bing showed Lin Feng the old house.
Rong Yan and Fu Jingsheng discussed it quietly and agreed that this person seemed quite reliable.
Finally, Han Yue and the others arrived.
Lin Feng took the initiative to greet them and also brought gifts for the two elderly people.
Raymond Lam did his best to save face for himself.
Lunch was ready, and the children sat at another table. Rong Bing had specially asked the chef to prepare a children's meal.
She thanked everyone with tea instead of wine.
"Bingbing, please stop saying that. We're happy to see you doing well." The emotional Han Yue couldn't hold back her tears.
