Chapter 59 Arrest Me

Fearing that too many people would arouse suspicion, Ye Jianming decided to go alone with Gu Hannian to pick up Gu Fang.

Inside the car, Rong Yan, still worried, followed them.

Fu Jingsheng saw his wife go over and wanted to go over too, but his legs were not strong enough.

Rong Yan helped him back to the car: "Don't cause trouble. If you run into Feng Gang, we'll have to take care of you. The car can be started anytime. We'll leave as soon as we pick up Gu Fang."

The woman stopped Fu Jingsheng.

Fu Jingsheng looked at his feet. Rong Yan was right. He gave her a few words of advice and then saw Rong Yan and Ye Jianming enter a small path.

Back in the village, Gu Hannian felt suffocated.

Her house was not far from the village entrance. The woman looked around and saw that most of the villagers had gone to the fields during the day, and there was almost no one at home.

She had just texted her mother to confirm that her father had gone out.

To avoid arousing her father's suspicion, Gu Fang packed no luggage and only took her identification documents.

She knew her daughter had come to pick her up with her niece.

Gu Fang sat on the wooden chair, feeling both nervous and expectant.

Feng Gang and his two card-playing friends hid in the haystack and saw that their daughter had indeed returned, with two more people beside her.

Judging from their attire, they must be very wealthy.

Feng Gang wiped his mouth with his little finger: "Once they get inside, block them. They must have kidnapped Hanzhi, and now they dare to come back."

"Brother Gang, has Hanzhi hooked up with a rich guy? She's only been gone a few days, and she's back dressed so nicely. That down jacket she's wearing must cost several hundred."

"No wonder she wouldn't marry Lao Liu. Although Lao Liu is a bit old, he's a construction foreman. Hanzhi is indeed a girl with big ambitions."

The two card players who were helping to block the other player were talking back and forth.

Feng Gang cursed, "Ungrateful wretch! I raised her all these years, and when I encountered difficulties, she just ran away to enjoy her life. Now that I've caught them, I'm going to make a killing and send them to Old Liu's house tomorrow."

"Brother Gang, where are we?"

"We won't treat you unfairly," Feng Gang said.

In front of the dilapidated house, Gu Hannian stopped and told Rong Yan and the others that this was her home.

Although the house was dilapidated, the yard was full of vegetables, and the small shed next to the vegetables was kept neat and tidy.

"Mom," Gu Hannian called softly.

Gu Fang was overjoyed.

The woman was dressed simply, with chapped skin and even frostbite. When Gu Fang saw Rong Yan, tears welled up in her eyes: "She looks just like her, so much like her."

If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, Rong Yan wouldn't have believed that she had relatives.

But her life seemed to be very difficult.

Even so, it's easy to see that she's a clean woman.

"The house is very dilapidated, so please don't come in," Gu Fang said, her head bowed.

"To make a long story short, let's get out of here first," Ye Jianming reminded everyone, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

Gu Hannian asked her mother a few questions, then helped her prepare to leave.

Suddenly the courtyard gate was blocked.

Feng Gang shouted, "You ingrate! I knew you colluded with outsiders to cheat me. You think you can give me money just by writing an IOU? You think I can just go and collect it? There's no such thing as a free lunch. You're making a fool of me! Da Zhuang, Lao Liu, get your weapons!"

Gu Fang was surprised that Feng Gang hadn't gone out and had caught them red-handed. In order not to implicate her daughter, she picked up a rake and tried to stop Feng Gang.

Gu Hannian had witnessed her father beating her mother since she was a child, which left a shadow in her heart. Now, seeing her father's fierce and menacing appearance, she was so frightened that she burst into tears.

"Dad, please don't hit me," Gu Hannian cried out.

"Another beautiful one has arrived. Either you stay and she leaves," Feng Gang said, swallowing hard. He had never seen such a beautiful woman before.

Ye Jianming shielded Rong Yan behind him: "Watch your mouth."

"Hey, you've delivered yourself right to my doorstep and you're telling me to watch my mouth? What's your relationship with Hanzhi? How come she has such a rich friend?" Feng Gang felt increasingly uneasy.

“Feng Gang, don’t make things difficult for them. They are Hanzhi’s friends and just came to see me,” Gu Fang said.

Feng Gang snatched Gu Fang's bag: "Look at you, you're going to take your bag out?"

"What's wrong with going to buy some groceries to treat them?" Gu Fang stubbornly denied it.

Feng Gang grabbed the woman's hair and slapped her: "I'm not stupid. My family is so poor, why would we buy vegetables from ghosts? These two just sneaked in suspiciously. If they weren't trying to take you away, what were they?"

Ye Jianming hated men hitting women more than anything in his life, so he kicked him. When Dazhuang and the others saw Feng Gang being beaten, they went to help.

Fortunately, Fu Jingsheng had a backup plan. When he got out of the car to check the situation, he found three men following Rong Yan and the others. He guessed that Feng Gang hadn't left and had deliberately ambushed them.

So he picked up a few people on the road, gave them some money, and promised that if the matter was successful, he would pay each of them tens of thousands of yuan.

"Tens of thousands at once?" Several people naturally agreed, especially since Feng Gang was a local thug.

To distract the two men helping in the yard, Fu Jingsheng shouted from outside, holding up the money, "Pick up money!"

The money was tossed into the sky and scattered down.

The man who helped Feng Gang surround Gu Hannian did indeed run out.

Then the three people that Fu Jingsheng had temporarily brought in continued to throw money around.

Fu Jingsheng then told Rong Yan to leave quickly.

People who love money like their lives only cared about picking up money. After they had picked it all up, several people counted it and found it amounted to several thousand yuan.

When they proudly announced their newfound wealth, they discovered that everyone else in the courtyard had vanished.

Feng Gang was instantly dumbfounded.

Dazhuang and the others were overjoyed: "Agang, your daughter has really made some rich friends. They're so generous. I've never seen money fall from the sky before."

"But everyone's gone." Old Liu looked around.

"If you ask me, it's better that he ran away. Staying at home would only mean eating more food. If he ran away, maybe he would remember that he has a father in the village and bring some money back."

Dazhuang said it as a matter of course.

Feng Gang shoved the money into his pocket: "Aren't you going to chase after them?"

Rong Yan and the others had already driven away.

Still shaken, Rong Yan kept touching her chest. She was terrified. She hadn't expected Feng Gang to have a backup plan. Fortunately, Fu Jingsheng intervened at the crucial moment.

Gu Hannian held her mother's hand tightly, not daring to open her eyes, afraid that her father would catch up.

Gu Fang kept looking back until she could no longer see the village name, only then did she feel relieved.

Ye Jianming was driving, and Fu Jingsheng was sitting in the passenger seat.

He said casually, "Not bad, Lao Fu. I underestimated you. You have a firm grasp on people's hearts."

"Although we owe a lot to Jing Sheng this time, it was too risky to do this. Your leg is injured like this, and you're not listening to me at all," Rong Yan scolded playfully.

Fu Jingsheng said that if he hadn't acted decisively when he saw them being followed, they would probably all be trapped now.

He spent a total of 50,000 yuan and found several people willing to help. Fu Jingsheng was quite pleased with himself. Before leaving, he thought that cash might be more useful in the village, so he took some out.

The people who helped left their phone numbers; even though they escaped, the remaining money still needed to be paid out.

Feng Gang drove his motorcycle out of the village.

There's only one road into the village, so any car going out now must belong to them.

Sure enough, the man saw a black car ahead.

Fortunately, the mountain road was difficult to travel, and I was able to catch up on my motorcycle.

"Feng Gang is catching up!" Gu Fang shouted in a panic.
