Chapter 100 Opening Ceremony (Part Two) - First Update

She desperately needed the money; she couldn't wait any longer.

Seeing that Bai Nuo seemed to be having some difficulties, Jiang San Niang didn't know what to say. She decided in her heart that she had to return the money to Bai Nuo as soon as possible. With that thought in mind, Jiang San Niang said aloud, "Alright, after breakfast, we'll go and help you!"

"I need to open the shop at Chenshi (7-9 AM). You can come back then. You don't need to wait around all day and interfere with your business," Bai Nuo said with a faint smile. She didn't have many friends in this town, only two close girls, Jiang San Niang and Jiang Qiao'er.

But even so, Bai Nuo didn't want them to stay closed for a whole day because of her. Bai Nuo had been watching Jiang San Niang's cloth shop for a while and knew exactly how the business was doing.

"What's the big deal?" Jiang Sanniang laughed. "My cloth shop can stay closed for a day without any problems. You just took over a shop, and a shop is different from a stall. There are so many things to take care of. Today is the opening day, and there will definitely be a lot of people. Although our place is small and can't compare to the capital, there are quite a few wealthy people here. Even if everyone just comes to look but doesn't buy anything, you'll still be busy as a bee."

Jiang Qiao'er put down her spoon and looked at Bai Nuo with a smile, "My sister is right. You don't need to refuse us. We didn't say we would close down and help you all the time. We'll just come back once you've sorted things out. Maybe you'll have to take care of things on your own tomorrow."

“I also have A-Yu!” Bai Nuo said calmly. “My younger brother hasn’t started school yet, so he can come and help me look after him.”

The two people opposite him were looking at him coldly, so Bai Nuo immediately changed his tune, "Alright, then thank you both kind ladies."

Jiang San Niang and Jiang Qiao'er then smiled, "That's right, don't be so formal with us."

The three of them fell silent after that, and no one spoke again. They all ate their breakfast quietly. After finishing breakfast, Jiang San Niang packed her things and then followed Bai Nuo to Bai Nuo's shop.

Seeing that there was no signboard hanging at the entrance of the shop, Jiang San Niang couldn't help but ask curiously, "What's the name of your shop?"

Bai Nuo glanced at the empty beam and chuckled, "The Treasure Pavilion."

Bai Nuo runs a business catering to women, aiming to provide all the necessities of life, from clothing and food to housing and transportation. That's why she named it Duobaoge (meaning "treasure trove"), and the meaning behind the name is clear: it means "many treasures and many collections."

Jiang Sanniang glanced at Bai Nuo and laughed, "You're so young, but you have quite the ambition. Don't forget me when you become rich and powerful!"

Bai Nuo responded with a smile, "I still need Mr. Jiang's guidance."

The three of them chatted and laughed as they walked into the Treasure Pavilion. On the first floor, there were plaques, red cloth, and red carpets from Zhejiang and the West. Bai Nuo had originally asked Jiang San Niang and the others to help, so she didn't intend for them to just stand around and watch. As soon as the three of them came in, Bai Nuo started making arrangements.

The red cloth was just a red cloth. Jiang Qiao'er and Jiang San Niang were both skillful, so they were responsible for tying a red flower at each end of the red cloth before it reached the middle.

"Is this alright?" After settling the red cloth, Bai Nuo and Jiang San Niang brought over a long ladder, held the plaque up, and hung it on the beam. Jiang Qiao'er stood below watching to prevent them from hanging the plaque crookedly.

"Not good enough!" Jiang Qiao'er looked up and waved her hand at them, "It's a little off-center, a bit too much!"

Bai Nuo and Jiang San Niang looked at Jiang Qiao'er while adjusting the signboard as Jiang Qiao'er instructed. "How about this?"

"Alright!" Jiang Qiao'er nodded.

Both of them breathed a sigh of relief.

"Bring the red cloth from underneath!"

Jiang Qiao'er quickly went over and placed the red cloth under Bai Nuo's ladder. Jiang Qiao'er picked up the red cloth and handed it to Bai Nuo. Bai Nuo bent down and took the red cloth. Jiang Qiao'er then quickly pulled the other end to Jiang San Niang.

Bai Nuo and Jiang San Niang simultaneously pulled up the red cloth and hung it above the plaque. In the middle section of the plaque, a piece of red silk hung down, covering the three characters "Duobaoge" (meaning "Treasure Pavilion"). At both ends, red flowers were tied by Jiang San Niang and Jiang Qiao'er. Further down, long strips of red cloth hung down.

When the two of them got off, a layer of skin rose up on their backs.

"Go inside and have some water, it's so hot!" Bai Nuo let out a long sigh.

The three of them went into the shop. Bai Nuo poured a cup of tea for the two of them, then poured herself a glass of cold boiled water and gulped it down.

"It feels like something's missing!" Jiang Sanniang looked around the environment of the multi-treasure pavilion. It was decorated very nicely, with all the necessary styles and a full range of tables and chairs. Naturally, there were also goods. But she still felt like something was missing. It just didn't feel right no matter how she looked at it.

"There's no red carpet!" Jiang Qiao'er interjected. "There's no red carpet here!"

Jiang San Niang and Jiang Qiao'er both looked at Bai Nuo. Bai Nuo felt as if he had been struck by lightning, and immediately woke up. He slapped his forehead and said, "Right, I forgot. I was saying I was missing something."

When Bai Nuo was preparing things, she carefully checked them over. On the surface, nothing seemed to be missing, but she always felt that something was missing, though she couldn't quite put her finger on it, so she gave up on it.

Now that they mentioned it, Bai Nuo immediately remembered.

No wonder it felt strange.

"I'll go get ready first, you guys watch the door for me!" Bai Nuo put down the cup and stood up.

“We have some!” Jiang Sanniang said with a smile, pulling Bai Nuo back to her side. “We still have them from when we opened our business. If you don’t mind, I can let you use mine!”
