Bai Nuo first returned to Duobaoge, took out the money, and put the things away. Then she went to Fulai Inn to borrow Lu Ying. After that, she took Lu Ying to San Niang Cloth Shop. Yu Ziqing was still looking affectionate. There were only so many adults in the town, and everyone knew about Yu Ziqing and Jiang San Niang's messy affair. Now that they saw Yu Ziqing standing like a wooden statue at the entrance of Jiang San Niang's shop, the gossip became even louder and more unpleasant.
“I’m not going over there. You give the money to Third Sister and help her watch the shop for a few days. If this man is still here guarding the shop, don’t hold back, just beat him to a pulp.”
Lu Ying nodded, but before he could make a move, Yu Ziqing saw them and ran away quickly.

Hu Mingmei, Lu Ying, and the other two were all about the same height. She bought some fabric to give to Long Er and the others, but after giving it to Long Yi and his brother, she felt bad about not giving any to Lu Ying and Xia Donglai. Long Yi and the others had their mothers who could help them make clothes, but Lu Ying and her brother were single and needed help from their grandmothers and Aunt Liu.
She should secretly measure these people's sizes.
In the afternoon, Bai Nuo made a special trip to Jiang San Niang's cloth shop after get off work. Yu Ziqing did not come again, and San Niang's cloth shop business was not greatly affected. Seeing Lu Ying patrolling the cloth shop like a bodyguard, Bai Nuo still went in to ask about their body types.
When asked about Hu Mingmei, Lu Ying said strangely, "If Miss wants to know Second Master's size, why doesn't she go and ask Second Master herself?"
Bai Nuo stared at Lu Ying, wondering what a silly question it was. If she could ask Hu Mingmei, she wouldn't need to ask him. Besides, Hu Mingmei would definitely overthink things. Would there be any surprises if she asked him?

After receiving Lu Ying's assurance, Bai Nuo went to the market to buy groceries to go home. After wandering around, she was surprised to find that there was mutton for sale, so she bought a few pounds of it. She also bought some green vegetables and fresh mushrooms, and then bought a lot of fruit.
The chili peppers are dried, but she hasn't tasted them yet. Although eating hot pot on a hot day can be hot, it's just so satisfying.
After buying groceries and picking up Long Yi, Bai Nuo went home. When she got home, Long Er and the others were still there, and Aunt Liu hadn't cooked dinner yet.
"Girl, these are the river clams we found today!" Long Er said as soon as she returned.
"Okay!" Bai Nuo nodded and said to the two of them, "You can go back later!" Then he told Aunt Liu not to rush to make dinner and to wash the vegetables.
Bai Nuo took out the pork bones, which she had already asked the butcher to chop when she bought them. All she had to do was blanch them. After blanching, she put the bones into a pot and simmered them over high heat.
While waiting for the bones to release their flavor, Bai Nuo went inside, took out some dried chilies, put them in a plate, and used the handle of a cleaver to crush them bit by bit. He then added a little salt and stirred it in, and the chili flakes were ready.
After preparing the chili flakes, Bai Nuo went to cut the mutton. Although it wasn't from a northern grassland, the meat wasn't gamey at all. Bai Nuo carefully sliced it into thin slices, following the grain of the meat.
Following Bai Nuo's instructions, Aunt Liu washed the vegetables and mushrooms, and then made fruit juice.
After all the side dishes were prepared and the bone broth was ready, Bai Nuo set up a simple stove by placing a few bricks in the yard, put the wok on it, lit a small fire, poured in the bone broth, and then brought out stools and placed the side dishes on the side.
"Everyone, come and have dinner!" Bai Nuo called out.
"Eating here?" Aunt Liu asked. "Aren't you going into the main room?"
"No, it's too hot inside. Let's bring Grandma out!" Bai Nuo said calmly. The courtyard was breezy and very cool, so it wouldn't be too hot to eat hot pot there.
Long Yi was kept behind by Bai Nuo for dinner before going on patrol. The three of them quickly sat down and saw a large pot in the middle of the yard. Bai Nuo sat down next to it and was dumbfounded. "Miss, is this dinner? How are we supposed to eat this?" The vegetables were raw and the meat was still bloody. Was Miss making them eat raw food?
Not only them, but also the old woman, Bai Yu, and Aunt Liu were dumbfounded. Aunt Liu, being of low status, dared not speak up.
Seeing their gazes, Bai Nuo smiled and said, "This is edible, and it's delicious! If you're not brave enough to eat it, then you don't have to. Just watch me eat!" Bai Nuo took the lead and put a little bit of mutton into the pot.
