Chapter 151 Let Bai Nuo Come Out

The waiter looked at him with a bitter expression.

The old man didn't know if this place was a den of dragons or tigers, but he was genuinely afraid of ghosts!

"Let's go!" Manager He said irritably, venting all the anger he had received from the master on the waiter.

"Take care, Manager He!" Bai Dalin wasn't angry when he saw that Manager He ignored him and was pulling his people away. He even shouted at Manager He's back, so loudly that Manager He heard it, and maybe the old man inside... heard it too.

"Shopkeeper, who is he?" The waiter tugged at Shopkeeper He's sleeve discreetly. "Your friend? I've never seen him before."

As a long-time employee of Manager He, Xiao Er knows most of Manager He's friends.

It was because he was familiar with the place that Manager He brought him here; otherwise, how could he have received such good "treatment"?

But who is this person? I've never seen him before!

"You're in charge!" Manager He said irritably, then turned around and smiled at Bai Dalin, "Brother Bai, I'll be taking my leave now. If you need anything, feel free to come to Duobaoxuan tomorrow. I'll be waiting for you anytime."

"Then I'll have to trouble you, Manager He!" Bai Dalin said with a slight smile. "Take care, Manager He."

"Farewell!" Manager He immediately ignored him, turned around and left after saying that. When the waiter saw his manager leave, he looked at Bai Dalin and then at Manager He, and hurriedly chased after his manager.

"How is the situation right now?" Standing by the window on the second floor of Duobao Pavilion facing the street was a waiter next to Manager He. He was looking at the situation of Duobao Pavilion across the street. Manager He walked up to him and asked.

"Duobao Pavilion has put up a notice announcing its closure!" The window they were standing at was directly opposite the entrance of Duobao Pavilion. The waiter pointed it out to Manager He, "Manager, look, they've put up a notice at the door!"

When Manager He looked out, he saw a sign on the door of Duobao Pavilion announcing that it was temporarily closed for rectification. The sign, written in black ink on red paper, read: “Starting today, Duobao Pavilion will only accept customers who come to return goods. We will not sell anything. Please wait for further notice regarding when we will reopen.”

"What a pity for such a young lady!" Manager He clicked his tongue twice, looking at the display cabinet swatting flies, and couldn't help but feel sorry for her. "You should just wait to get married, why is she out here causing trouble? She's not a proper wife. It's only because women are treated much more leniently nowadays. In the old dynasty, she would have been drowned in a pig cage!"

"That's right, this is really outrageous!" the waiter echoed his manager.

"Hey, shopkeeper, look what they're doing!" the waiter suddenly shouted, pointing at the entrance of the Treasure Pavilion. Unlike usual, the Treasure Pavilion wasn't closed; instead, the doors were wide open, and people were coming and going—all burly men carrying tables.

Manager He was startled and quickly looked over. Seeing the current situation at Duobao Pavilion, he was also puzzled. What was Bai Nuo trying to do?

"Go and find out!" Manager He said in a deep voice.

The waiter ran downstairs and quickly returned, shouting, "Manager! Manager!"

"What's wrong with you in such a panic?" Manager He turned around angrily. Bai Nuo's sudden big move made Manager He uneasy. "Why are you back so soon? Did you find out something?"

"I..." the waiter gasped, "I haven't gone yet!" Then, before Manager He could get angry, he quickly added, "Um... your Brother Bai is here, waiting for you downstairs!"

Manager He was about to curse him, but after a while he remembered who Brother Bai was. Wasn't he talking about Bai Dalin?

You're here so soon?

Manager He had no intention of intimidating Bai Dalin on this matter, so he strode towards the stairwell, kicking the waiter as he passed by, "Get to work!"

When Manager He went downstairs, he saw Bai Dalin looking at the goods on the counter in the hall with a strong look of greed in his eyes. Manager He's disdain for Bai Dalin intensified.

You country bumpkin, you've never seen the world!

But he still wore a warm smile. "Brother Bai, you're here so early? Tell me, how do you need my help?"

"Give me three to five men, the kind who can do the work, and one hundred taels of silver as expenses!" Bai Dalin said in a deep voice, his hands behind his back, his expression serious. Although he wasn't angry, he still maintained a certain demeanor.

The waiter listened from the side, his mouth agape.

This Brother Bai is really asking for an exorbitant amount, demanding a hundred taels right off the bat.

He thought Manager He wouldn't give it to him, but to his surprise, Manager He agreed and even instructed him to find someone to get the money.

While Manager He and Bai Dalin were waiting, Manager He rolled his eyes and smiled, pointing to the door of Duobao Pavilion across the street, saying, "Brother Bai, you are the father of the manager of Duobao Pavilion, after all. Look, they have already closed down, but there are still people coming and going. What's going on?"

Bai Dalin was drinking tea, gently stirring the tea leaves with the lid of his cup. Hearing this, he looked up, glanced at the object, and then lowered his eyes again. "She's probably in a bad mood because she lost money, so she's buying things. She often buys things like this!"

Bai Dalin had heard from the old man that Bai Nuo had lost a lot of money and that Duobaoge was about to go out of business. When Bai Dalin heard this news, he was overjoyed!
