"I had something to do and went out for a bit!" Lu Ying touched his nose, and when he looked up, he saw Jiang San Niang looking at him with a half-smile. He quickly put his hand down and changed the subject, "Where did my sister-in-law go?"
"They're with Nuonuo!" Jiang Sanniang put the clothes in the basket and stood up. Lu Ying quickly reached out to help her. As they walked, Jiang Sanniang asked, "Haven't eaten yet?"
Lu Ying shook her head and said pitifully, "I'm so hungry!"
The two went into the kitchen. Jiang San Niang started a fire and put the food into the pot one by one to heat it up. Lu Ying leaned against the door, clasped his hands together and watched her work. He would eat one dish as Jiang San Niang heated it up.
"Did you wash your hands?" Jiang San Niang turned around and saw Lu Ying sneaking a bite. She immediately slapped him and gave him a playful look.
Lu Ying bent down, gave Jiang San Niang a kiss on the cheek, and then said with a grin, "I'll go wash up now."
Lu Ying quickly washed her hands, picked up a tray in each hand, placed the food that Jiang San Niang had heated on it, and then, holding Jiang San Niang's hand with one hand and the food in the other, said, "Alright, no need to bother anymore, there's enough to eat!"
Jiang San Niang wanted to say something, but Lu Ying didn't give her a chance. He picked her up with one hand and carried her away like a child.
"Third Sister! Lu Ying!" The two were eating when Bai Nuo's voice rang out from outside the door, urgent and loud. Lu Ying quickly went to open the door, "Miss!"
As soon as the door opened, Bai Nuo rushed in. Jiang San Niang stood up, looked at Bai Nuo, and asked, "What's wrong? Why are you in such a hurry?"
Bai Nuo hurriedly stopped in her tracks and looked at Lu Ying, saying, "Second Master has had a relapse. We need to go back quickly, Donglai and I can't control him!"
"I'm leaving right now!" Lu Ying was very anxious when she heard this. She went back to the bedside, grabbed her clothes, put them on, and said to Jiang San Niang, "Go to sleep early and close the door!" With that, she strode out the door.
"Third Sister, be careful!" Bai Nuo glanced at Jiang San Niang, rubbed her hands together and said, then quickly left.
Before Jiang San Niang could say anything, she only uttered a soft "Hey," and the two men vanished without a trace.
Lu Ying and Bai Nuo walked along the road by the lamplight. Lu Ying asked, "Has Second Master taken his medicine?"
Bai Nuo stopped in his tracks. Lu Ying walked on without hearing a response, and when he turned around, he saw Bai Nuo standing there staring at him.
"What's wrong?"
“Lu Ying!” Bai Nuo walked up and said with some difficulty, “Actually, it’s not that Second Master had an accident, it’s… it’s that Qiao’er had an accident. I dare not tell Third Sister!”
“We’ll talk on the way!” Lu Ying was taken aback, but she didn’t stop and quickly walked towards Bai Nuo’s new home.
He couldn't ignore either the Second Master or Qiao'er.
"They were stabbed when they came back!" Bai Nuo quickly caught up with Lu Ying and said to her.
Lu Ying turned to look at Bai Nuo, who said angrily, "It's Yu Ziqing!"
Yu Ziqing!
When the two arrived at Bai Nuo's house, Bai Nuo said to Lu Ying, "They are in Bai Yu's room."
Lu Ying strode over, and as soon as she entered, she smelled a strong stench of blood. A group of people were gathered there.
Upon seeing Lu Ying arrive, Hu Mingmei and the others made way for her. Lu Ying quickly walked over and saw Jiang Qiao'er lying on the bed, wearing only a thin undergarment, with white gauze wrapped around her chest, blood seeping through. Her face was pale.
Bai Yu was sobbing beside her, and there were injuries on his face.
Upon seeing Lu Ying, Bai Yu knelt down, hugged Lu Ying's legs, and choked out, "Brother Lu Ying, kill me. I failed to protect Qiao'er."
"Get up!" Lu Ying grabbed Bai Yu and lifted him up. "Tell your brother what happened!"
Bai Yu cried with snot and tears streaming down his face. After wiping away his tears, he choked out, "We had just finished class and were coming out of the classroom when that woman appeared out of nowhere. She had a knife and was about to stab us. I stopped her, but I didn't expect Yu Ziqing to be behind us too. We were so focused on that woman that we didn't pay attention to him!"
"There's another woman?" Bai Nuo asked in surprise. "What does she look like?"
Bai Yu said, "She was wearing a mask at the time, so I couldn't see her clearly. I only saw that she had a mole on her face."
"Bring Yu Ziqing over first!" Hu Mingmei said in a deep voice, then went up and patted Lu Ying on the shoulder. "Don't worry too much. The doctor said that her heart meridian was not damaged. I have already given her the best wound medicine, so there is no danger to her life."
Lu Ying smiled wryly, "Thank you, Second Master. Miss, could you please tell Third Madam that Qiao'er went to the countryside? She hasn't been back for a long time, and I'm afraid Third Madam will worry. Third Madam is pregnant..."
Before Lu Ying could finish speaking, a dull thud was heard, and Lu Ying abruptly stopped talking. Everyone turned around and saw Jiang San Niang lying by the door.
"Third Sister!" Lu Ying rushed over, picked up Jiang San Niang, and saw that Jiang San Niang had already fainted.
"Third Sister!" Lu Ying shook Jiang San Niang's body.
"Oh dear, quickly fetch a doctor!" Bai Nuo said hurriedly. It was a complete mess; the little one was still unconscious, and the older one had also fainted!
Lu Ying quickly carried Jiang San Niang to the bed, and those who needed to find a doctor did so, while those who needed to find others did so.
"Lu Ying, my sister..." When Jiang San Niang slowly woke up, she saw Lu Ying's worried eyes. She subconsciously grabbed Lu Ying's clothes and asked, but as she asked, she seemed to remember something. She turned her head and looked at the side. Jiang Qiao'er was still unconscious. Tears immediately fell down her face.
