Chapter 175 Bai Nuo and Hu Mingmei Argue

Old Li had completely lost his breath, and a crackling sound came from his throat, as if he had phlegm stuck in his throat that he couldn't cough up.

After Bai Nuo succeeded, she quickly let go, but Old Li grabbed her hand, looking at her incredulously: "You...you...."

Bai Nuo forcefully flung Old Li's hand away and whispered, "Go to hell!" With that, she forcefully shook off Old Li's hand, and Old Li slowly collapsed like a rag doll.

With a soft "click," a sound came from next door. Bai Nuo turned around and saw the man next door who had just been talking to Old Li, wanting to get a share of the profits, staring at her in horror.

Bai Nuo expressionlessly pulled the hairpin out of her hair, turned to look at him, and asked softly, "What, do you want to try it too?"

The man shrank back in terror, "You...you killed someone...you killed someone!"

As he retreated, he shouted loudly, "Murder! Murder! Brother Li is dead! Brother Li is dead! Help!"

Jiang San Niang had been standing by the side the whole time. At first, she had kept her distance, but now that she saw the person was dead, she was no longer afraid. She whispered to Bai Nuo, "I never thought that we sisters would really die together today!"

Bai Nuo said, "It's better than being insulted by this person!" With that, Bai Nuo pulled out the hairpin from the left side of Old Li's neck, wiped it clean on his clothes, and then put the hairpin back into Jiang San Niang's hair.

Jiang San Niang exclaimed, "You... Nuonuo, what do you want to do?" As she spoke, Jiang San Niang reached out to block Bai Nuo.

Bai Nuo reached out and pulled Jiang San Niang's hand down, then put the hairpin back in. "Whether two people die or one person dies, you still have a child, and you just got married to Lu Ying. You're doing well, so you don't need to die with me!"

"How can this be?" Jiang Sanniang said anxiously, "I killed this person, and besides, there are witnesses, aren't there?"

"I stabbed him to death!" Bai Nuo said with a smile. "You only injured him; he didn't die. Even if someone saw it, that's the same thing!"

"What's going on? What's going on?" The voice from next door finally attracted the jailer's attention. As soon as he arrived, the man said to the jailer in a panic, "Someone's dead! Someone's dead! Jailer! They killed Brother Li!"

"This man..." The jailer walked over in disbelief and saw Old Li lying on the ground, his blood staining the surroundings red. Bai Nuo and Jiang San Niang were sitting on the only clean patch of ground, hugging each other and trembling as they looked at him!

Upon seeing that someone had died, and that the person had died in the women's prison cell, the warden felt a sudden headache coming on. He left without even opening the cell door, shouting as he went, "Help! Something's happened in the last cell! Old Li is dead! Go find the magistrate!"

**

This person had only been imprisoned for a short time when trouble started again. Lord Li looked at Bai Nuo and Jiang San Niang kneeling below the court and felt a headache coming on.

Was he sabotaged by his rivals this year?

How could this happen? A man from a male prison die in a female prison.

Lord Li sat there silently, neither Bai Nuo nor Bai Nuo spoke, nor did they plead their case. This only fueled Lord Li's growing irritation.

What the hell is going on here?!

The clerk brought the coroner up, and Lord Li immediately looked at the clerk, asking, "What happened?"

The coroner said in a low voice, "The wounds on Old Li's body are all the same, there are two in total, one of which is in the center of his throat, and that is what caused Old Li's death."

"Have the weapons used to kill those two wounds been found?" Lord Li asked hurriedly.

"Found them!" the coroner nodded. "They were all hairpins from the prisoners!"

Lord Li then asked, "Why is Old Li in the women's prison? Isn't he in the men's prison?"

“It’s the end of the year, and there are more criminals. There are quite a few prisoners in the women’s jail!” the clerk said, but before he could finish, Lord Li interrupted him, “I’m asking you, Old Li, how you got over there. What does that have to do with the end of the year?”

The clerk shook his head, saying with trepidation, "My lord, please forgive me, I was unaware!"

"Call the jailer over here!" Lord Li was extremely annoyed.

After the jailer was summoned, he didn't know what was going on either.

Lord Li handled the case quickly because Bai Nuo confessed on the spot that she had killed the man. However, Bai Nuo also insisted on one thing: that Old Li was trying to defile her, and she killed the man to protect herself. This was also confirmed by the people next door to Bai Nuo.

"Judgment..." The case was very easy to judge, so Lord Li did not hesitate and made a judgment very quickly. However, just as he uttered the first word, the clerk stopped him.

Lord Li trusted his advisor quite a bit. Seeing that he seemed to have something to say, Lord Li immediately said, "Because there are many doubts in this case, you two will go back to the prison and await further trial! Court adjourned!"

After saying this, Lord Li walked back into the back hall, and his clerk followed closely behind. Seeing that no one was around, Lord Li asked, "Why didn't you let me pronounce the sentence just now?"

"My lord, you mustn't announce it!" the clerk said in a deep voice. "If you announce the verdict, you'll offend everyone!"

Lord Li was a little angry when he heard this, and said unhappily, "How dare you talk like that? How have I offended anyone?"
