"Kneel down!" Zheng Lin yelled at her.
Zheng Qing'er might be able to fool a child or Wang Shi with these words, but they're not quite enough to fool him.
"Oh dear, sir, what are you doing? Why are you getting angry and yelling at the child so easily?" Madam Wang tried to mediate. "Don't be angry. Qing'er didn't do anything wrong. She didn't get hurt on purpose. Isn't Prince Cheng a good person? That's why he sent Qing'er back."
Tears welled up in Zheng Qing'er's eyes as she bit her lip and cried out, "Father..."

"Qing'er!" Madam Wang looked at her daughter with heartache. "Your father is right, you should get married. Listen to your father!"
"I won't get married!" Zheng Qing'er shouted through her tears, "I won't get married!"
“If you don’t get married, you can become a nun!” Zheng Lin shouted back.
"My daughter has already pledged her life to Prince Cheng. For the rest of her life, my daughter belongs to Prince Cheng!"
