"I'll go too!" Xia Donglai's words immediately received a response from Lu Ying. There was no one in the courtyard, so Xia Donglai quickly drew his longsword. Sometimes he used a broadsword, and sometimes he used a longsword, depending on his mood that day. But whether it was a longsword or a broadsword, he used them equally well. "You must remember, you are my people. You must think of me, not them. Even if Madam sent you here to serve, you are still my people. I pay you your wages. Do you understand?"
Although Hu Mingmei was speaking to her with a smile, the maid felt a chill run through her body, as if it were the dead of winter in December. "I...I understand!"
"So what about tonight's events?"
The maid finally understood that Hu Mingmei was indulging Steward Lu, and Steward Lu had his reasons for doing so, since the old master and old lady were not as powerful as a steward.
Nothing happened tonight.
The maid finally said something.
"Very good!" Hu Mingmei nodded. "You may leave now!"
The maid seemed to be liberated and hurriedly left. Hu Mingmei strolled back into the hall. As soon as he passed the maid, he realized that no one dared to rush up to him to plead for Huang Wenbai and the others. He paid no attention to the situation and walked leisurely as if he were in his own backyard.
Doctor Sun followed behind Hu Mingmei, looked at her, and sighed softly. Hu Mingmei's aura was becoming more and more terrifying, and she was vaguely resembling Princess Yuru.
