"I'm asking you a question!" Bai Dalin got angry when Bai Nuo didn't answer for a long time. He impatiently nudged Bai Nuo's shoulder. "Are you deaf?"
Bai Nuo snapped out of her daze and saw Bai Dalin's angry expression. She looked at him blankly and asked, "Dad, what's wrong?"
Bai Dalin is about to have his own son, and he dislikes Bai Nuo, this fool, even more. The more he sees her like this, the more he hates her. He is not bad-looking, nor is he a fool, so how did he end up with such a daughter?

Bai Nuo's eyes were icy cold, but she still asked, "What is it?"

Bai Nuo lowered her head even further. "Father, aren't Bai Yu and I your daughter and son?"
"What kind of son is he! My only son is the one in Qiu Ling's belly!" Bai Dalin said impatiently. Jiang Wanyin is Jiang Wanyin, and he is him. He never wanted to treat Jiang Wanyin's child as his own.
"Okay, I understand." Bai Nuo took off running, stuffing her tears back as she ran.
These tears weren't for herself, but for that fool Bai Nuo and her younger brother Bai Yu. Jiang Wanyin, Jiang Wanyin, why did you have to die so young? Bai Nuo wandered around outside but couldn't find Bai Yu. Not knowing where Bai Yu had gone, she could only go up the mountain to wander around.
As dusk fell, Bai Nuo stepped into the Bai family's gate in the last rays of sunlight. Just as she entered, she heard Bai Dalin's shouts and curses. Startled, she rushed over and saw Bai Yu lying on a long bench outside her room. Bai Yu had pulled down his pants, exposing his buttocks. Bai Dalin stood in the doorway, facing the yard, holding a two-finger-wide whip, cursing and beating Bai Yu until his skin was torn and bleeding. But Bai Yu didn't utter a sound.
Inside the room, the old woman and Chen Qiuling were talking, one occupying the head of the bed and the other the foot. The two were having a very pleasant conversation and were oblivious to what was happening outside.
"Father, stop hitting him!" Bai Nuo was terrified. If Bai Yu continued to be beaten like this, he would definitely be killed.
"Get away from me!" Bai Dalin shoved Bai Nuo, who had stepped forward, and lashed out with his whip. "Your brother tried to kill my son, so I wouldn't mind beating him to death!"
With a sharp crack, the whip struck flesh, the sound particularly chilling in the darkness.

After getting Bai Yu down, the two of them rolled onto the ground. Then, she struggled to help Bai Yu up, without even brushing the dust off herself.
Looking at Bai Nuo's disheveled appearance, Chen Qiuling turned to look at Bai Dalin, a shy smile on her lips. "I know I shouldn't move, but how can I stand by and do nothing if my husband wants to kill his own child?"
"What do you mean by 'children'? The child in your belly is my only offspring. If anything happens to him, I'll deal with you."
