"Yes!" Bai Nuo nodded and told the truth, "We moved back to the old house, but it's either leaking rain or drafty. We can't live there without fixing it."
"Come in with me. I'll give you the hammer and nails. Your brother Tie Niu will be back soon. I'll have him deliver the tiles to you then!" The village chief said as he walked into the main room.
Once inside the main room, the village chief went to fetch the items. Bai Nuo stood in the middle of the room waiting, and as soon as the village chief brought the items out, she quickly said, "Grandpa, how much are these things? I'll pay you. I won't take them for nothing!"
"It's not worth much!" The village chief waved his hand, not caring about it. "When the time comes, just tell your brother Tie Niu how many tiles you used and give him the money." After a pause, the village chief thought for a moment and then said directly, "Bai Nuo, I know you are a good child, and your father is also very unreasonable, but no matter what, he is still your father. Bai Nuo nodded silently.

The old house and the Bai family's house were side by side, not far apart.
