"Dalin!" Chen Qiuling was genuinely happy. She had just said she couldn't stand the smell of cooking oil, but now that Chen Zhi had woken up, she pulled Bai Dalin to the kitchen. "Shall we make something delicious for Zhi'er? Zhi'er just woke up, he must really want to eat something."

Bai Dalin remained indifferent, letting Chen Qiuling pull him to the kitchen. Seeing that Chen Qiuling was preparing a large meal of meat and vegetables, Bai Dalin became somewhat displeased.

“Yes…” Chen Qiuling thought about it and realized that made sense. “It’s all my fault for being too happy and not thinking of that. How about we skip the meat and have plain porridge or noodles?”
Seeing that Chen Qiuling really intended to become a vegetarian, Bai Dalin stopped her again, "No, no, I didn't mean you shouldn't cook meat dishes. Zhi'er can't eat them, but you still have to eat them. We'll just cook a little less."
Chen Qiuling was in high spirits because of the happy event. The grievances she had suffered last night had completely disappeared. Her eyes were full of stars as she looked at Bai Dalin. "Husband, you are so good to me."
Taking the opportunity, Bai Dalin kissed Chen Qiuling on the cheek. "Then you cook first, I'll go get some water." He then grabbed another bucket.
When Chen Zhi came out, Bai Dalin was not in the kitchen; only Chen Qiuling was busy. Seeing that Bai Dalin was not there, he quickly went inside.
"Mother...where are those two bastards, Bai Nuo and Bai Yu?" Chen Zhi had been thinking about this question while taking a shower, but he still couldn't figure it out.
"It's over at the old house..." Chen Qiuling was stir-frying the hot oiled vegetables in the pan. The smell of oily smoke hit her nose and made her feel nauseous, but she endured it so that her son could have a good meal.
"You really moved there? Will you come back?" Chen Zhi was quite surprised. Didn't Bai Nuo say she would never leave, even if it meant death? She wanted this and that, how could she leave so easily?
"Isn't it good that she's gone? You've always been unhappy about living with them, haven't you? Now that they're gone, no one can bother us anymore. All the offspring of a wicked woman are wicked. Let me tell you, from now on, don't be polite to them when you see them, or they might kill you... Shall we have noodles tonight?"
"Okay..." Chen Zhi took a deep breath of the aroma floating in the air. His stomach was growling with hunger. He hadn't eaten in a long time, and even though he was a picky eater, he wasn't anymore. "I'll eat anything, Mom. Hurry up! I'm starving! Oh, Mom, what did you just say? I'm going to be a big brother?"
"Yes, it's been several months." When talking about her unborn child, Chen Qiuling's face shone with maternal love. She wanted to give her child the best of everything.
"Mom!" Chen Zhi was extremely unhappy. "Don't you already have me? Why are you having another child? You're so old. Are you only thinking about living with Bai Dalin and don't want me anymore?" He's such a grown man; how could he have a newborn younger brother or sister?
He felt his position was being challenged.

Chen Qiuling put the stir-fried vegetables into a bowl, and glared at Chen Zhi with annoyance. "What nonsense are you spouting? What do you mean your mother is so old? Your mother has been married for almost ten years and still hasn't given your father a child. Is that reasonable?"
“But…” Chen Zhi was still unwilling, “Isn’t your relationship pretty good? Why do you need a child?”
“You don’t know, you’re not married yet. Even if your father and I have a good relationship, if we don’t have a child, he’ll have a problem with me sooner or later. Besides…” Chen Qiuling told Chen Zhi about Bai Dalin’s newfound wealth. “Your father is rich, and he can make money. Chen Zhi nodded, "I understand, Mother." Even for the sake of Bai Dalin's family fortune, he would make Bai Dalin happy and obedient.
"Zhi'er has finally woken up today, and our family can finally have a proper meal together. Come on, let's all eat." On the Bai family's dining table were a meat dish, a scrambled egg, and a vegetable dish, with a large bowl of noodles in front of the three of them.
