"I gave it to him!" Bai Dalin stared at the box, completely stunned. When he saw that there were only thirty taels of silver inside, his face turned pale. He answered subconsciously, but quickly realized what he was saying and immediately shut up.

"Alright, I won't bother with the thirty taels of silver. You can keep it!" Bai Nuo pouted, checked the wooden box, and found nothing of value, so he locked it up and put it back in its original place.

"You won't find the rest of the money, and you won't find your mother's dowry either!" Bai Dalin said through gritted teeth, his face filled with manic smugness. "Who knows~" Bai Nuo dragged out her words, opened the quilt, removed the mat, and then peeled back the bed boards one by one. After finding no hidden compartments or anything like that, she knelt down straight.
"Girl, what are you doing?" Long Yi was startled by Bai Nuo's sudden action!
"It's nothing, I'm just checking under the bed!" Bai Nuo replied while looking under the bed. She used to hide things under the bed when she was little, and now that she had searched the whole house and couldn't find any money, it could only be under the bed.
Given Bai Dalin's selfish nature, he wouldn't keep the money far away; he would only keep it under his nose. So, the only possible place is here.
Bai Dalin's face turned pale instantly. Long Yi shouted, "Miss, his face has turned pale. Under the bed, the money is really under the bed."
"Got it!" Bai Nuo replied while groping under the bed, not caring about getting her hands or clothes dirty. Where she couldn't reach, she disassembled the bed frame and stood over it to continue groping. Finally, she found a different kind of friction. Upon closer inspection, she noticed that the soil in that spot was sandier and drier than the surrounding soil.
"It really is here!" Bai Nuo said softly, then dug down to that spot, clearing away the soil. In no time, he found a small box.
Bai Dalin watched Bai Nuo work with his own eyes. When he saw that Bai Nuo had found the box that he thought he had hidden well, his face turned even paler, and he swayed as if he were about to collapse.
It's all gone, all his money is gone!
"It was so hard to find you!" Bai Nuo took out the box, jumped out from between the bed boards, dusted off the box, and muttered to herself.
If you don't look carefully, you won't be able to find where the box is at all. Chen Qiuling probably won't know that Bai Dalin put the money here until she dies.
The box wasn't locked. Bai Nuo gave Bai Dalin a strange look before opening it. As she opened it, Bai Dalin shouted "No!" but was silenced by a punch from Long Yi.
When Bai Nuo opened it, what she saw inside was truly astonishing. The box was overflowing with money; compared to Chen Qiuling's box, it was like heaven and earth.
Unable to count it all, Bai Nuo simply poured all the money on the ground. Upon counting, there were ten 100-tael silver notes, two 500-tael notes, several 10-tael silver notes, and some loose silver. Counting them up, there was about 2,200 or 2,300 taels of silver in total.
"You have so much money, and you only give Chen Qiuling this little bit for groceries?" Bai Nuo once again scorned Bai Dalin; this Bai Dalin was truly a scoundrel!
"I gave it to her! I gave her two hundred taels of silver!" Bai Dalin felt extremely embarrassed under Bai Nuo's mocking gaze and retorted loudly.

As for Long Yi, he pounced on Bai Dalin the instant he lunged forward and grabbed him.
All of this happened in the blink of an eye amidst the lightning and thunder. After realizing that there was no danger, Bai Nuo breathed a sigh of relief, lost her balance, and fell to the ground with a thud.
Damn it, you really shouldn't do a backbend if you don't have some skill, it's too embarrassing!
After Bai Nuo fell, she immediately stood up, took out the list she had been protecting by her chest, glanced coldly at Bai Dalin, and angrily rebuked, "What are you feeling guilty about? If you miss my mother so much, why did you treat her like that? You're a hypocrite trying to be virtuous? Bah, you don't deserve it!"
