The sun was blazing hot during the day.
Bai Dalin and Chen Qiuling faced off under the scorching sun, making Bai Nuo quite nervous—what if she spilled her chili peppers? Wouldn't she have to wash them all over again?
"Get out of here, all of you!" Bai Nuo was completely speechless. The fight had come all the way here. What kind of operation was this? Why didn't they go over there to fight? What were they planning to do here?
"Aunt Liu, get them both out of here!" Bai Nuo said coldly to Aunt Liu as she walked into the main room. "Be careful, don't touch the pregnant woman, or she'll make us pay for the child!"
"Hey!" Seeing that Bai Nuo didn't try to pull him back and even seemed a little angry, Aunt Liu quickly ran out, walked to Bai Dalin's side, and grabbed Bai Dalin's wrist with one hand. "Let's go, Uncle Bai. You came to someone else's house to fight. Aren't you afraid of being laughed at? We are afraid of being laughed at."
"What are you doing?" Bai Dalin glared at Liu Da Niang as soon as she touched her. "Make that woman give me my money first!"
He won't leave until he gets the money.
"It's not like we're taking your money, so what are you doing at our house? I'm not trying to be mean, but if your wife needs money, just give her some. Ten taels of silver for a wife, it's not a bad deal!"
Aunt Liu was incredibly strong. When Bai Dalin tried to struggle, he found that he couldn't break free. This grown man was dragged and pulled out by Aunt Liu. By the time he was able to resist, the Bai family's door had already slammed shut.
"And you?" After chasing Bai Dalin out, Aunt Liu turned back and sneered at Chen Qiuling. "Are you going to leave on your own, or should I ask you to leave?"
If her daughter hadn't told her to go easy on her, she would have already hit her. So what if she's pregnant?
She can't stand people like that!
"I'll go by myself, I'll go by myself!" Chen Qiuling looked at Aunt Liu as if she were a devil, and dared not say anything about staying to ask Bai Nuo for help. She ran out as fast as she spoke.
Seeing that Chen Qiuling and the others had left, and looking at the scorching sun, Bai Nuo lost the desire to go out. After pushing the old woman back to her room, she also curled up on the bed and took a nap.
"Miss Bai, Miss Bai!" Bai Nuo was awakened by shouts while she was half asleep. When she first woke up, she thought she was dreaming, but when she listened carefully, she realized that someone was calling her.
After getting dressed and opening the door, I saw Lu Ying.
Lu Ying's face was flushed from the sun, and she was carrying a bag. When she saw Bai Nuo come out, she said apologetically, "Miss Bai, did I disturb your rest?"
Bai Nuo shook her head, glanced at the sky; it was already afternoon. "It's nothing, what's wrong?"
If Lu Ying hadn't woken her up at this hour, Bai Nuo felt she might have slept until evening.
"Could you help me find a medicine pot?" Lu Ying smiled shyly and waved the things in her hand.
Bai Nuo asked curiously, "What's wrong? Are you sick?"
"It's not that I'm sick, it's that my second master isn't feeling well, so I got him some medicine, but I can't find where the medicine pot is!" Although she came to the Bai family to work for Bai Nuo, Lu Ying had never been into the kitchen and didn't know where the medicine was.
"Give it to me! I'll help you with that!" Bai Nuo took the medicine packet from Lu Ying's hand. "It's hot now, and the well water here is very cool. We can chill some things for your Second Master."
