Then he tried to persuade Huang Yanfen, "Forget it, don't take it to heart. You're an adult and they're just kids. You can't bully them, can you? Come on, let's go do the laundry."
Then they pulled Huang Yanfen far away.
Seeing Huang Yanfen being pulled away, the others also pulled Bai Nuo and Bai Yu far away.
After things calmed down, Bai Yu helped Bai Nuo wash the river clams. The stick was still lying next to him. Bai Nuo looked at the stick and couldn't help but ask curiously, "Why are you here?"
“I’ve been looking for you everywhere!” Bai Yu said. “I heard people talking about you like that first thing this morning, so I told you not to come out, afraid you’d be upset, but you insisted on coming anyway.”
"So what?" Bai Nuo said nonchalantly. "I'll just slap anyone who says something bad about me. What's there to be afraid of?"
After washing the river clams, Bai Nuo and Bai Yu went to the village well to fetch water before the two siblings went home.
"Is Nono back?"
As soon as the two siblings reached the door, the old woman called out. The two siblings exchanged a glance, put the bucket down at the door, and quickly ran inside. "Hey, Grandma, it's me. Do you need to use the outhouse?"
The old woman was still lying on her side. When she saw the two of them, she smiled and waved her hand, "No, I'm tired lying like this. Can you help me turn over?"
"Grandma, don't worry, I'll find a doctor to help you get better. Just bear with it for now, it's only temporary. Once you're healed and can sit up, you won't be so tired anymore." Bai Nuo was afraid that Grandma would overthink things, so she quickly turned Grandma down and comforted her as she did so.
"Neither of you should go out today. I have something to say to you."
