Li Jinyu suddenly snapped back to reality, "Right, right, quickly tell the kitchen to make something to eat, I'll go check on her inside."
Bai Nuo shook her head. "It's normal that Lord Li won't budge on this kind of thing. Don't argue with your father because of me. Thank you for coming to see us."

Bai Nuo and Jiang San Niang gathered around. Bai Nuo ate a couple of bites, but Jiang San Niang didn't eat a single bite.
"What's wrong?" Li Jinyu asked. "Is the food not to your liking?"
Jiang San Niang shook her head. "How can I eat? My husband is still nowhere to be found. Jin Yu, can you do me a favor?"
Li Jinyu initially felt guilty, but now that she could help, she was eager to do so and quickly said, "Tell me, I'll definitely help you."
"Could you help me find out where my husband is?"
Li Jinyu nodded, got up and left.
Looking at the food in front of her, Bai Nuo said to Jiang San Niang, "Sister, you should eat some. Even if you don't, the baby still needs to eat. Everything will be fine."
Hu Mingmei will definitely make sure they are safe and sound.
Li Jinyu returned shortly after leaving. Bai Nuo and Jiang San Niang looked at her expectantly. Li Jinyu walked over quickly and said to them, "San Niang, your husband was with two other people. He told you not to worry, that if he didn't do it, he didn't do it, and that he will definitely let you out."
Jiang San Niang finally breathed a sigh of relief, and a smile appeared on her face.
Bai Nuo was not so optimistic. All three men had been locked up inside, practically bringing the entire Duobao Pavilion inside. There was no one outside to help them. How were they supposed to escape?

After the meal, Li Jinyu asked Cui'er to spread blankets on the straw for them. Bai Nuo and Jiang San Niang made do with it and slept there. The next morning, Constable Cheng called them out.
Upon arriving at the courtroom, a powerful and authoritative voice rang out. Lord Li slammed his gavel, and Bai Nuo and Jiang San Niang wisely knelt down.
Kneeling beside them were Xia Donglai, Hu Mingmei, and Lu Ying, in that order.
As soon as Bai Nuo saw Hu Mingmei, his eyes fell on her. Hu Mingmei looked alright; although she was a bit disheveled, there were no wounds or anything like that. It seemed that none of them had been tortured last night.
Lord Li's gaze, however, fell on Jiang San Niang. Noticing the overcoat she was wearing, he asked curiously, "Where did this coat come from? Why does it look so familiar?"
It looks like a coat from their place!
Jiang San Niang said in a low voice, "It is indeed from here."
Lu Ying quickly said, "My lord, my wife is pregnant. If she doesn't keep warm in this cold weather, she might not be able to stand it. Please allow my wife to wear a coat."
It's unclear whether Lu Ying's words moved Lord Li, or whether Lord Li felt it was inappropriate to let a pregnant woman get cold. He nodded and didn't say anything more about the matter.
"Alright, let's begin the court session now," Lord Li said in a deep voice.
The powerful and majestic voice rang out once again.
After the voices faded away, Lord Li asked in a deep voice, "Bai Nuo, Jiang San Niang, Hu Mingmei, Lu Ying, Xia Donglai, do you know your crimes?"
The group looked at each other in silence. Hu Mingmei said calmly, "This humble subject does not know. Please explain in detail, sir."
Lord Li choked, staring at Hu Mingmei speechlessly for a long time. He asked them if they knew their guilt, but this man insisted that they speak.
Does this mean he's framing them?
However, Lord Li decided to ignore him and calmly delivered his lines: "Yesterday, a deceased person came to your place to attend a wedding banquet, but an assassination attempt occurred, resulting in the death of the deceased. The deceased's family has accused you of harboring an assassin and murdering for money. Is this true?"

Lord Li choked. How annoying this person was! How could he have said everything he wanted to say?
