Chapter 67: Reap what you sow.

"Husband, my stomach hurts so much..." After running back and forth more than ten times, Chen Qiuling finally couldn't bear it anymore, plopped down on the ground, and wailed while pulling at Bai Dalin, "Husband..."

The tone was mournful and melodious, but Bai Dalin's stomach was in excruciating pain, so he had no mind to appreciate the tune. He barely managed to pull Chen Qiuling up, saying, "Don't talk..." After taking a deep breath, he still felt his stomach rumbling as if it were being squeezed, and his anus was clenched tightly, not daring to relax.

Fortunately, it stopped.

"Son..." Chen Qiuling leaned against Bai Dalin, panting as she looked at Chen Zhi, "How are you?"

Chen Zhi was covered in sweat, even from the diarrhea. He shook his head to indicate he was alright, but dared not speak. The moment he opened his mouth, he felt a surge of heat gushing from his anus…

Finally, after a long while, Bai Dalin found his voice and weakly said, holding Chen Qiuling, "Wife, you don't need to cook anymore..."

If you cook, you'll ruin your whole family's livelihood.

Chen Qiuling was speechless. She wanted to refute Bai Dalin, but felt that something about what Bai Dalin said was wrong. However, she couldn't bring herself to say it because the whole family had indeed eaten the dinner she had made, which was why things had turned out this way.

Is her cooking really that bad?

That's not right. She can cook too.

The commotion at the Bai family's place lasted for half an hour before finally stopping. Bai Nuo had been listening intently the whole time, and only when there was no more noise did she curl the corners of her lips into a smile. Bai Yu, watching her cold smile from the side, suddenly shivered. "Sister, what do you think happened over there?"

"They took laxatives..." Bai Nuo said calmly, "so they got diarrhea." Judging from their condition, the laxatives were quite potent. Luckily, they didn't ingest them. However, their current state is a case of reaping what they sowed.

Why did I take laxatives?

Ayu couldn't figure it out for a moment, and seeing his sister's solemn expression, he didn't dare to ask any more questions.

Even though A-Yu didn't ask, Bai Nuo still wanted to tell him, lest this silly roe deer be fooled without even realizing it. "Do you remember that dog that got diarrhea after eating our noodles?"

Bai Yu nodded. Of course he remembered; that dog was just too pitiful.

“It’s not that the dog has a bad stomach, it’s that all our food has been laced with laxatives…” Bai Nuo continued, “Why do you think they have diarrhea over there? Because I swapped the problematic flour and everything else from here over there.”

When Bai Yu heard that everything in their place had been drugged, he felt a surge of anxiety. Hearing his sister say that everything had been switched, he was still catching his breath when he asked, "Sister...you..." How could you do this?

That's not right! Ayu didn't finish her sentence, but under the light, her lips were tightly pursed, her back straightened unconsciously, and her expression was solemn. Clearly, she didn't agree with Bai Nuo's approach either. If Bai Nuo didn't give a reason, Baiyu would become dissatisfied with her sister!

"I didn't try to harm anyone..." Bai Nuo said calmly, glancing at Bai Yu, "You think what my sister did was wrong, don't you?"

Ah Yu is a very stubborn person. If you treat him badly, he will simply ignore you and silently resist. If you bully him too much, he will even show his little sharp teeth and bite you. However, he has one very good quality: he is a kind person. Even though Bai Dalin bullied them so much, Ah Yu never thought of killing Bai Dalin.

It's a pity that there's no shortage of people in this world who will bully you even if you don't hurt them.

"The reason our stuff was poisoned is because of what they did over there..." Bai Nuo wiped the last bowl dry and put it back in its place. "Do you know why I put those things over there? Because I saw Chen Qiuling's earring on the flour sack. Why would her earring be on a flour sack? And why would the dog get diarrhea after eating something?"

Ah Yu's face turned pale and then red. "You mean...you mean..."

“Yes!” Bai Nuo nodded. “So do you still think I went too far?”

Bai Yu shook his head blankly, looking disappointed. He hadn't realized that someone wanted to harm him and had almost wrongly accused his sister.

Seeing him like this, so dejected, Bai Nuo laughed. She hadn't come to discourage Bai Yu, but to let him know that he shouldn't harm others, but he also shouldn't always be so passive. "Alright, don't be like this. We're fine, aren't we? They're the ones dying from diarrhea, not us. We shouldn't have any thoughts of harming others, but we shouldn't be so passive either. We should be more careful in everything we do, and we should act when the time is right."

Bai Yu nodded blankly, then couldn't help but worry again, "What if they realize it was us?"

"No, I put everything back where it was. They won't know." Chen Qiuling must have accidentally left the earring here without realizing it, but Bai Nuo is different. She just wanted to get revenge on Chen Qiuling and the others, so why would she leave any evidence behind?

As for when Chen Qiuling sneaked in, that's no longer important.

As Bai Nuo spoke, she opened the rice bag, grabbed two handfuls of rice, rinsed them clean, added a little water, and simmered it on the stove. When it was almost done, she chopped some wild vegetables and put them in, making a pot of wild vegetable porridge.

While the food at Chen Qiuling's place may not be considered particularly exquisite, the rice used is all high-quality rice, and the porridge is incredibly fragrant. This is something that cannot be achieved with inferior rice.

After filling a bowl with the wild vegetable porridge, Bai Nuo carried it into the room. The room was pitch black. After Bai Nuo turned on the lamp, she looked at the old woman's bed and was suddenly startled to see a pair of cloudy eyes staring blankly at her.

"Grandma, when did you wake up? Why didn't you say anything? Are you still in a lot of pain?" Bai Nuo patted her chest to calm herself down before bringing the wild vegetable porridge over.

"What's wrong with me?" the old woman asked hoarsely, still staring intently at Bai Nuo. "Nuonuo, I feel like I can't move?"

Bai Nuo sighed softly, deciding not to tell her yet. She poured her a glass of water before taking the water and porridge to sit down by the bedside. She placed the porridge on the table, gently lifted the old woman's head, and explained, "Didn't you fall? The doctor said it was quite serious and you need to rest. I guess you'll be able to move around again once you're better. Don't worry, I'm here for you. Here, have some water first."

After blowing on the water to make sure it wasn't too hot, Bai Nuo brought it to the old woman's lips. The old woman stared at her for a while before drinking the water.
