Aunt Liu had been here for so long and had never seen the old woman so distraught. She was startled and, after saying "Oh," quickly picked up the old woman, wheelchair and all, and hurriedly walked out.
When the old woman arrived next door, Chen Qiuling was crying out in pain. Long Yi, an outsider and a man, had come out early. Seeing Bai Nuo arrive, he whispered to her, "Manager Jiang is inside with her."
Bai Nuo nodded and stepped aside, letting the old woman and Aunt Liu go in first before following them in.
The moment the old woman entered, she saw Chen Qiuling's contorted face, and her heart sank. "You're carrying a six-month pregnant belly, how could you fall? Where's Dalin? Where did Dalin go?"
Everyone says that a baby born at seven months old will survive, but a baby born at eight months old won't live either!
The old woman felt as if she were being pricked by needles.
Her grandson!
"Auntie, don't worry!" Seeing that the old woman was about to faint, Aunt Liu quickly said, "Didn't the young lady call the doctor? You're a lucky person, your grandson will definitely be alright!"
"It's so far from the town. By the time the doctor arrives, my grandson will be gone!" The old woman patted her chest repeatedly, feeling extremely distressed at the thought of her unborn grandson.
“Auntie, I’ve helped deliver babies before, so I know a bit about women’s affairs. If you trust me, let me take a look!” Aunt Liu said.
The old woman was like a drowning person, grabbing onto whatever was at hand. Hearing what Aunt Liu said, the old woman immediately said, "Then what are you waiting for? Why don't you go and see?"
"Girl, please close the door!" Aunt Liu turned around and saw many people standing at the door, so she said to Bai Nuo.
Bai Nuo nodded, pulled Jiang San Niang out, and closed the door behind them.
"You absolutely mustn't shout anymore! If you shout any harder, you'll give birth, and the baby won't survive!" Bai Nuo stood at the door, only hearing Chen Qiuling's wails and Aunt Liu's voice.
But as soon as Aunt Liu finished speaking, Chen Qiuling stopped shouting.
Before long, Lu Ying returned with the doctor. Seeing everyone waiting outside, Lu Ying was unsure whether to bring the doctor inside or not.
"Doctor, please go in!" Bai Nuo said calmly, then called out to the door, "Grandma, the doctor is here!" and pushed the door open.
After the doctor said thank you for your trouble, he went inside. But once inside, there was no sound at all; there was neither anxious sound nor wailing.
"Sister, has she given birth or not? Why is there no sound at all?" Bai Yu, being a little kid, didn't know anything. He was very puzzled after not being able to hear any sound from inside, and asked Bai Nuo with some confusion.
"Don't talk!" Bai Nuo shushed him. "You should go inside now, it's getting cold!"
"No, I want to stay here!" Bai Yu stubbornly refused to leave.
"You can't do anything here!" Bai Nuo said coldly. "When Grandma comes out and sees you still playing around, she'll scold you!"
If Grandma hadn't been waiting for him to come out, Bai Nuo would have already left.
The person inside isn't her biological mother, so what's so interesting about it?
Fortunately, as the two siblings were talking, Aunt Liu came out. When she came out, she was still smiling. Seeing everyone looking at her, Aunt Liu couldn't help but laugh and say, "Alright, alright, the child is fine now. You can go back to what you were doing!"
Bai Nuo immediately turned to leave, but Aunt Liu grabbed her arm. "Young lady, the old lady wants you to go and find your father!"
The girl had grown into a young woman, but Bai Nuo pretended not to hear the subtle change in her words. Standing in front of Aunt Liu, she said calmly, "I haven't seen him in a long time. I don't know where he is."
We've already done more than enough by bringing Chen Qiuling back; do you really expect her to help us find Bai Dalin? Dream on!
"Then forget it!" Aunt Liu didn't force her and turned to go back inside.
Bai Nuo led the rest of the people back to the courtyard. Only Hu Mingmei and Xia Donglai were there. Hu Mingmei looked up when he heard the sound, and Bai Nuo shook her head at him.
Once inside the courtyard, Jiang San Niang asked all the questions she wanted to know, "What happened? How did someone fall down like that? And why did you bring them back?"
Bai Nuo said, "She bought meat from me, and someone pushed her, causing her to lose her balance and fall. No one was willing to take her back, so we had to carry her home!"
"That's really unlucky!" Jiang San Niang sighed after hearing this.
While things were commotion, Bai Nuo's mind was a complete mess, but the cold wind calmed her down. Once she was calm, she thought of the two wild boars and immediately said, "I'm going out. Long Er is still outside. He can't handle it alone!"
“I’m going too!” Jiang San Niang said repeatedly. After she came in, she felt Lu Ying’s gaze lingering on her face, so she didn’t dare to stay any longer and quickly said to Bai Nuo.
Bai Nuo nodded, turned and left. Jiang San Niang followed Bai Nuo.
"Wait a minute!" Suddenly, Lu Ying spoke in a deep voice. Bai Nuo and Jiang San Niang subconsciously turned around. Bai Nuo thought Lu Ying was calling her and looked at him with some surprise. But when she looked, she didn't expect to see Jiang San Niang being pulled by Lu Ying.
