Both of them were Hu Mingmei's personal bodyguards, always by his side. Wherever Hu Mingmei was, they were there too. Now that Hu Mingmei had come to Duobao Pavilion, they naturally followed.
Seeing Bai Nuo come down, they all respectfully greeted her, "Miss..."
"Second Master is upstairs, already asleep..." Bai Nuo said calmly, reassuring them not to worry.

Bai Nuo said calmly, "I'm going to buy groceries..." Hu Mingmei had a headache. If he went back, he would probably just go to sleep without eating dinner, so Bai Nuo thought of staying to keep him company.
Lu Ying knew that Bai Nuo must be going out for Hu Mingmei's sake, since she said she wouldn't be going home at this time. So Lu Ying said, "I'll go with you!" It would be good to have someone to carry things on the way!

Because Hu Mingmei wasn't feeling well, Bai Nuo didn't cook anything fancy, but instead made a pot of wontons for everyone.
Bai Nuo used large bones to make the wonton soup base, so the first thing she did upon returning was to throw the bones into a large pot to simmer. Then she kneaded flour on the cutting board, made wonton wrappers one by one, and then went to prepare the meat filling.
Squeeze ginger to extract ginger water, chop scallions into scallion flowers, mince lean meat into minced meat, add oil and salt, ginger water and appropriate amount of soy sauce, stir in one direction until the meat filling is thick, and then Bai Nuo stands by the cutting board and starts to pinch small wontons one by one.
After shaping the wontons and simmering the bone broth until it turned milky white, Bai Nuo scooped out all the bones, added half of the small wontons, covered the pot, brought it to a boil again, and then simmered it over low heat, watching them float to the surface one by one. After sprinkling on some chopped green onions, Bai Nuo took five large bowls and filled them with the wontons.
"Dinner's ready!" Bai Nuo called out from the doorway. "There's some cooked food in the kitchen. You can eat first, and if it's not enough, you can cook some more yourself." Then she carried two bowls of wontons upstairs.
The upstairs room was dimly lit. Bai Nuo went in and placed the wontons on the bedside table. After turning on the light, she went to check on Hu Mingmei, who was still asleep.
"Second Master..." Bai Nuo was afraid that Hu Mingmei was hungry, and also worried that he would sleep too much during the day and not be able to sleep at night, so he gently pushed Hu Mingmei's shoulder.
Hu Mingmei was sleeping soundly. After calling her several times, Hu Mingmei finally opened her eyes and looked at her sleepily, asking, "What time is it?"
Bai Nuo laughed, "It's almost dark. You've been sleeping for two hours. Get up, eat something, and then go back to sleep!"
Hu Mingmei propped his head up, looking like he had a terrible headache. Bai Nuo quickly went to help him, but Hu Mingmei acted like a spoiled child, leaning against her and refusing to move. Bai Nuo chuckled and nudged him, seeing his "don't pull me" expression, she helplessly picked up the bowl, brought a wonton to his lips, and coaxed him softly, "I just made these wontons, they're so delicious, why don't you try some?"
Hu Mingmei looked up at her, and Bai Nuo smiled and offered her the wontons. Hu Mingmei then reluctantly ate the wontons.
The wonton wrappers were smooth and the meat filling was delicious. With one bite, the juicy meat juice lingered on the lips and teeth. The soup base was warm and sweet. After eating a wonton, Hu Mingmei felt much of the fatigue brought on by sleep disappear.
My headache, which had been throbbing, didn't seem to hurt as much anymore.
Seeing that he had eaten, Bai Nuo wanted to hand him the bowl, but to her surprise, Hu Mingmei didn't move at all and showed no intention of taking the bowl and eating by himself. Helpless, Bai Nuo had no choice but to feed him bite by bite. After feeding Hu Mingmei, Bai Nuo started eating by herself.
"Miss..." Bai Nuo had only taken two bites when Qinghe's voice rang out from outside the door, "We've cooked some wontons, would you like some?"
Bai Nuo looked at Hu Mingmei, who nodded. Bai Nuo then replied, "Okay, come in!"
Qinghe pushed open the door and came in, put the wontons on the table and turned to leave. Bai Nuo stood up, picked up a bowl of wontons and put it in Hu Mingmei's hand. Seeing her eating, Hu Mingmei finally reached out and took it.
After dinner, Bai Nuo said, "Let's release Bai Dalin tonight!"
She kept Bai Dalin locked up only to prevent him from ruining her plans. Now that she had a small workshop, she could mass-produce pearl jewelry. Moreover, she had already taken most of the pearls from the sugarcane fields, whether they were from her fishpond or unclaimed ones. It was time to move to a different place.
Hu Mingmei had no doubt about her decision and immediately nodded.
