Bai Nuo's heart tightened, and she quickly lowered her voice, "How did you get the military tally? Where did it come from?" Isn't the military tally the foundation of a country? How did Hu Mingmei even get his hands on it? "Didn't you go to court today? How come you even have the military tally?"
Hu Mingmei smiled wryly, his face showing helplessness. "Madam, I only just found out that this box contains a military tally." If he had known that Emperor Jingkang had given him a military tally, he would never have accepted it.
In some people's hands, this military tally is a treasure, but in his hands, it becomes a death warrant.
"Did His Majesty give it to you?" Bai Nuo asked tentatively. She really couldn't think of anyone else who would have such a thing besides His Majesty.
Hu Mingmei nodded.

Hu Mingmei's hands, which had been moving, froze in place. Seeing that Bai Nuo was still trying to walk behind him to take off his clothes, he said, "Don't move!"
Bai Nuo looked down at his hand on her stomach, noticing the nervous yet expectant look on his face. She really wanted to tell him that the baby might already be asleep, but seeing how nervous he was, she decided to be understanding and let him be a first-time father with high expectations, so she remained silent.
An incense stick's time passed, and Hu Mingmei still hadn't felt any fetal movement. She looked at Bai Nuo with some surprise, "Why isn't it moving?"

Bai Nuo sat down silently, and Hu Mingmei sat down next to her, his hand still on her stomach. They waited for the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, but the baby still didn't move.
Hu Mingmei asked her curiously, "Why isn't he moving? Didn't you say he was moving?"
Bai Nuo was quite helpless. "Husband, the child's mood varies depending on the time of day and whether he's asleep or awake. It's almost afternoon now, and he wants to go back to sleep!"
"When will he move?" Hu Mingmei pressed on, unwilling to give up.
Bai Nuo casually replied, "In the morning!"

As soon as Hu Mingmei woke up, Bai Nuo also woke up. But before Bai Nuo could get up, she felt Hu Mingmei's hand reach out from under the covers and place it on her stomach. "What are you doing?"
Hu Mingmei looked at her as if it were a matter of course, "Didn't you say the baby would move in the morning?" It's morning now.
Bai Nuo said helplessly, "I was just saying it casually. I felt the baby move yesterday morning, but it's not certain today!" This was her first pregnancy and her first time experiencing fetal movement, especially since it was her first time yesterday. She had no idea about the pattern, let alone telling Hu Mingmei. While Bai Nuo was dozing off, she suddenly felt the man behind her jerk. She immediately opened her eyes and looked at Hu Mingmei groggily, "What's wrong?"
Hu Mingmei looked at her with overwhelming joy, his eyes filled with excitement. Before Bai Nuo could react, Hu Mingmei hugged her tightly. "Nuonuo, the baby moved! The baby moved! Thank you!"
Hearing the person in front of her so excited that their voice was hoarse, Bai Nuo's heart melted completely. She hugged him back and whispered, "I know, I can feel it!"
The baby is inside her belly, and of course she'll know whether it's moving or not.
Hu Mingmei pulled Bai Nuo out of his arms, looked her up and down, and asked nervously, "He's moving, are you uncomfortable?"
Bai Nuo shook her head. "He just stretched and moved his legs and arms inside. He didn't kick me. I'm fine!"
Before Hu Mingmei could finish his rambling, Bai Nuo leaned in and kissed his lips, reminding him, "It's getting late, you should go to court. If you don't leave now, you'll be late!"
