Xiangming thought angrily, then saw a wooden stick not far away. She quickly went over, grabbed the stick, and slapped it hard on Zhang Jingwen's chin. At the same time, she kicked Zhang Jingwen hard, knocking her to the ground.
After Zhang Jingwen fell, she tried to get up, but Xiangming followed up with another kick, aiming for Zhang Jingwen's face.

Whether Zhang Jingwen was making a last-ditch effort, experiencing a final burst of energy, or desperately trying to find a way to survive, Xiangming was caught off guard and was actually managed to get up by Zhang Jingwen. She staggered a couple of steps and almost fell.
Zhang Jingwen's face was covered in blood, her body was filthy, her hair was covered in garbage, and sewage was dripping from it. She sat up, panting heavily.
"Fine!" Xiangming had completely lost her mind, her bloodshot eyes glaring as she braced herself against the dilapidated, moss-covered eye sockets. "You dared to push me!"
She rushed down again and kicked Zhang Jingwen in the face, causing Zhang Jingwen to fall straight down.
"Go to hell!" Xiangming straddled Zhang Jingwen, bent down and untied the belt from Zhang Jingwen's clothes, then sat down on Zhang Jingwen. She wrapped the belt around Zhang Jingwen's neck several times and then pulled hard at both ends.
"Go to hell! You don't deserve to live!"
She didn't know how much time had passed before Xiangming finally let go of Zhang Jingwen's hand. Sitting on Zhang Jingwen, she gasped for breath. Suddenly, she snapped back to reality and looked at Zhang Jingwen, who was no longer moving or crying out in pain, with horror. She carefully placed her finger in front of Zhang Jingwen's nose and then abruptly withdrew it.
"She's not breathing? How could that be?"
Xiangming retreated in terror, pressing herself against the wall. Looking around and seeing no one, she hurriedly walked away. But after only a few steps, she remembered that she still had one shoe in the garbage dump. She quickly ran back, put the shoe on, and fled the dilapidated alley.
Once she reached the alley entrance, the sunlight shone on her, and Xiangming had completely calmed down. She carefully examined herself and, seeing a considerable amount of blood on her body, remained calm. With no one around, Xiangming took off her clothes and headed in one direction.
Before long, Xiangming swaggered onto the main street, no longer carrying the blood-stained clothes; all she felt was anxiety.

If today is Zhang Jingwen's death day, then today is Bai Nuo's happiest day. In the morning, she was still worried about how to sell the new products, but at noon, when she was having lunch with Jiang Qiao'er, Jiang Qiao'er told her that quite a few earrings had already been sold.
Bai Nuo's heart then felt less pain.
Not long after finishing her meal, Bai Nuo welcomed her first guest – Sister Zhao.
Bai Nuo stood behind the counter, watching Sister Zhao choose earrings. Jiang San Niang was right; Sister Zhao was indeed a big customer. She had already chosen several pairs of earrings, saying she wanted one pair for each of her daughters, as well as one pair for each of her sister-in-law and her husband's sister-in-law.
Besides earrings, Sister Zhao also selected several bracelets, saying they were for her daughter and would match the earrings perfectly.
Sister Zhao's generosity gave Bai Nuo a general idea of the income of civil servants in this era.
While looking at the pearl earrings and other items, Sister Zhao kept glancing at Hu Mingmei.
Because Sister Zhao's actions were so obvious, Bai Nuo couldn't help but ask, "Mrs. Zhao, what are you looking at?"
"Who is this man?" Sister Zhao couldn't help but ask when Bai Nuo asked. She had heard the rumors circulating in town these past few days.
