Chapter 261 The Six Kingdoms' Military Trial (Part 1)

Yuan Chuhua stared blankly at Zheng Quchi, wondering if she even knew what she was doing.

She looked at Wei Yao again, her brows furrowed, a strange feeling rising in her heart.

What kind of expression was that on his face? A mix of emotion, helplessness, and relief... It was as if he had expected her to answer like that all along. But if he had already guessed it, then why didn't he stop her?

"Well done, Lady Yuwen is indeed bold and courageous. She is truly a woman who is not inferior to men, hahaha..." Mu Jin laughed loudly, as if he was particularly satisfied with the result. He had already watched enough of the show at the banquet and satisfied his stomach. He stood up and said, "Zheng Quchi, let's meet at the Six Kingdoms Military Trial Ground."

Mu Jin left, laughing wildly and gleefully.

Hou Feiqing then left his seat and walked over to Zheng Quchi. The two were about the same height. Beneath his white eyebrows, even his eyes were a light silver-gray: "I've heard of you, Zheng Quchi. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Where have you heard of me?" Zheng Quchi asked.

Hou Feiqing had no intention of saying anything more: "Zheng Quchi, I look forward to fighting you."

Zheng Quchi could tell that, unlike Mu Jin's mocking tone, Hou Feiqing was actually serious... seriously considering her as an opponent?!

Even she herself couldn't believe that such a renowned general would have expectations of an outsider like her.

After Mu Jin and Hou Feiqing left, Chen Tangzhong lost interest in continuing the banquet. He deliberately approached Zheng Quchi, and as they passed each other, his smiling eyes suddenly turned fierce. He whispered, "Zheng Quchi, if I don't get a chance to ruin your husband this time, then you are destined to become his substitute."

Zheng Quchi suddenly turned his face, his gaze instantly turning sharp.

But before she could make a move, Yuan Xingzhou, who was beside her, had already placed a palm on Shen Tangzhong's shoulder.

Chen Tangzhong's expression turned cold as he looked up.

Yuan Xingzhou's dark pupils were as calm and mysterious as the night, the light emanating from them unfathomable. When you quietly observe him, it seems as if eerie ghosts are screaming shrilly from within those dark depths, sending chills down your spine.

"General Shen, please wait a moment. I have heard that you enjoy seeking out people to spar with in Hongsheng Kingdom. Your martial arts skills must be first-rate. It is a rare opportunity for you to come to Ye Kingdom. I would like to have a friendly match with you as a way of showing hospitality."

Chen Tangzhong's throat tightened suddenly. He was very surprised and before he could react, he felt a palm strike that was unusually fierce. After he hurriedly dodged, before he could even call for a stop, his opponent continued to attack.

His palm technique was very strange. When it swept in, it was soft and weak, seemingly ordinary and easy to dodge, but once it touched the area around him, it became unusually cold and heavy, as if it were wrapped in a cold and frigid snowstorm.

Shen Tangzhong was not skilled in hand-to-hand combat and had no suitable weapon. The two of them fought back and forth, attacking and dodging, evading and chasing, using their fists and feet to fight for several rounds.

"Your Highness, this is a palace banquet, not a fighting arena. Enough is enough!" Bo Ji shouted to stop them.

After reaching a stalemate, they both stopped fighting at the same time.

Chen Tangzhong shook his numb wrist and said in a breathy voice, "Your Highness is quite the hidden talent."

Yuan Xingzhou remained calm and composed, his cold gaze indifferent: "Not as good as General Shen."

With a cold snort, Bo Ji hurriedly stepped forward to speak, but he turned and walked more than ten steps, leaving the banquet guests behind. However, just as he reached the entrance of the hall, he suddenly stumbled, and the burly and imposing man fell to the ground like a three-year-old child, unable to get up for a long time.

Hou Feiqing glanced at it from a short distance ahead, a dark glint flashing in his eyes, but he quickly pretended not to see it and turned to continue walking.

Shen Jin also saw it, and a look of surprise flashed across his face. But these three people didn't have much of a relationship to begin with, so even if Shen Tangzhong died, he probably wouldn't be worried or nervous. On the contrary, seeing Shen Tangzhong fall in public and make such a fool of himself, he even "kindly" reminded him: "General Shen, the roads in Ye Palace are slippery, you'd better be careful, hehehehe..."

Bo Ji stared in astonishment and, supported by her head maid, rushed forward, exclaiming, "General Shen!"

The other ministers were also terrified, fearing that Shen Tangzhong had been ambushed or poisoned during the banquet, a responsibility none of them could bear.

Zheng Quchi was also completely bewildered. She exchanged glances with Wei Yao and Wang Zebang, and finally, as if sensing something, she looked up at Yuan Xingzhou beside her and asked in a low voice, "What's going on?"

Yuan Xingzhou looked ahead and saw Bo Ji leading people forward to check. Just as the ministers were about to help Shen Tangzhong up, Shen Tangzhong gritted his teeth and pushed them away. He braced himself on the ground, as if he had used a lot of strength, and stood up with sweat on his head: "This general is fine, get out of the way!"

Everyone was startled by his fierce roar and scattered involuntarily.

He finally stood up straight, but walked with a limp, in great pain. Before leaving, he turned and glared fiercely at Yuan Xingzhou, his eyes filled with cold anger. Today, Yuan Xingzhou had made him lose face so much. He, Shen Zhitang, would remember this grudge!

See you later!

"What exactly did you do?" Zheng Quchi was certain that Yuan Xingzhou was behind it based on Shen Zhitang's last look. But how did he manage to cripple Shen Zhitang in front of everyone?

Yuan Xingzhou slowly withdrew his gaze, meeting Zheng Quchi's curious and bright eyes. He secretly admired her, thinking to himself, "Indeed, these bright and cheerful colors are more suitable for these eyes."

Two rosy hues appeared on his pale face. As if telling her a secret, he said softly, "I dislocated all forty-six bones in his body. Every time he takes a step, the dislocated bones will be twisted and grind into a painful state. If he wants to return to normal, he can only put these bones back one by one. In this process, he will suffer the pain of broken bones again and again."
