Chapter 360 A Cunning Plan (Part Two)

"Take me with you!" Zheng Quchi reached out and grabbed the hem of his clothes.

He turned his head, a wave of helplessness washing over him: "...Okay."

She gripped him so tightly that the veins on the back of her hand bulged. She was so resolute; how could Gan Xin possibly refuse her?

——

Gan Xin flew across the forest like an ape carrying a human figure. When the two arrived, they saw that Wang Zebang and his men had surrounded the area.

The armored soldiers formed a formidable, dark wall of men. The instant Zheng Quchi landed, he happened to see a dashing, blood-red figure standing in the center. He held a long sword, its sharp blade, usually spotless, now dripping with thick beads of blood.

"General, you mustn't—"

A familiar exclamation rang out, and then Wang Zebang rushed over. The armored soldiers filled the gap once again. Zheng Quchi stood on the outer perimeter, and because of his height, he was completely out of sight.

She rushed forward: "What's wrong? What happened?"

The Xuanjia soldiers turned around and, upon seeing Zheng Quchi, immediately blocked her path, saying, "Madam, it's dangerous ahead! Don't get too close!"

"Let me see!"

She squeezed through the gap and looked up to see Yuwen Sheng holding a person's head up, his other hand about to thrust a sword into the person's chest, but Wang Zebang pulled him away in time.

The man was thrown violently, but was immediately pulled up and dragged away by the Xuanjia soldiers, completely away from Yuwen Sheng.

"Protect him!"

Wang Zebang shouted loudly from the front, but when he turned his head, he was almost scalped off by a sword strike. He immediately tried to defend himself, but unfortunately, he was kicked away after no more than three moves.

Fortunately, at this moment, Yuwen Sheng seemed to be bound by an invisible force, and the places he could move were very limited.

The other soldiers were about to rush to their aid when Wang Zebang shouted at them, "Don't come any closer! Don't come any closer—"

Yuwen Sheng, his face covered in blood spots, had a sickly pale complexion. His thick, black eyelashes gave him a sinister and wicked look. At this moment, he seemed to have completely unleashed the devil in his heart. He glanced at Wang Zebang, as if he had lost interest in him, and then turned his gaze back to Le Qi. His eyes were filled with a bright red light, and an aura of death enveloped him.

With each movement, the invisible threads on his body would dig into his flesh. Although he was mad and bloodthirsty, he was not completely insane. With a slash of his sword, he didn't know what material these silver threads were made of, but they were incredibly hard, and only a few broke off.

His cold eyes narrowed slightly, and black veins crawled from his skin to his temples like some kind of curse. His once handsome and serene face, like that of a Buddha, now seemed more like a demon than a demon with ears and nose.

He seemed to be thinking about how to escape, or perhaps how to kill all those who were standing in his way.

“Yuwen Sheng…”

Zheng Quchi found it hard to believe his current appearance.

Wang Zebang inadvertently caught sight of Zheng Quchi behind him and his heart tightened: "Madam, don't come any closer. The general is under the control of Gu poison and has lost his humanity. He can't recognize people anymore."

"How could this happen so suddenly..." She saw Leqi, who had almost been killed, standing to the side. His foreign attire was clearly more elaborate than that of ordinary Kezhu people, and she immediately guessed his identity—the leader of the Kezhu tribe.

"It's him..."

Was he the one who turned Yuwen Sheng into the way he is now?

"Hurry up—"

Seeing that the general was about to escape, Wang Zebang stumbled to his feet, enduring the pain in his abdomen, and prepared to temporarily avoid the limelight, leading his troops to leave the scene as quickly as possible.

He knew the general's fighting prowess; these men were simply no match for the general.

Zheng Quchi also understood why Wang Zebang would risk his life to save that Kezhu person. Since he knew how to make Yuwen Sheng into what he is now, he must also know how to control the Gu poison.

As long as he doesn't die, there is still hope of waking up Yuwen Sheng.

Zheng Quchi swallowed nervously, watching Yuwen Sheng act like a killing god, indiscriminately slaughtering anyone in sight. He seemed particularly "interested" in the leader of the Kezhu tribe and determined to kill him. She turned to Gan Xin and said, "Protect him! Protect him at all costs!"

Gan Xin frowned, but still agreed, "Okay."

As they were talking, Yuwen Sheng had already cut off all the silver threads. Just as he was about to make his move, Gan Xin lashed out like a black whip. A master's skill is immediately apparent from their first move.

The two clashed again, their powerful inner strength no longer concealed, so intense that it was impossible to open one's eyes. Yuwen Sheng's wrist rotated slightly, and his longsword flashed like lightning. The sword light shimmered, and the two figures merged into one, becoming indistinguishable, blending into two streams of energy, which was truly astonishing.

A short while later, Gan Xin's voice came: "Master, leave quickly!"

Zheng Quchi was anxiously watching the battle, but upon hearing this, his eyes suddenly widened.

What's wrong?

Gan Xin has been famous for a long time, and his name "Mad Saber" is well-known in the martial arts world. Although Yuwen Sheng is also powerful, he is a general and she is a swordsman. So, shouldn't her disciple be more powerful?

Wang Zebang, however, saw through the situation. He had intended to leave quickly, but Gan Xin's intervention delayed him. Now, upon hearing Gan Xin's shout, his expression darkened: "Madam, Gan Xin no longer wields the Mad Blade, and his strength is likely much weaker than before. He probably won't be able to stop the General any longer!"

Upon hearing this question, Zheng Quchi immediately looked at the soldier beside him and said, "Then give him a knife."

Wang Zebang was both amused and exasperated: "No, ordinary swords and blades simply cannot withstand his internal force, but if he doesn't use his full strength, he might not be able to deal with the current general."
