Chapter 89 Ghost Eye Fu Rong

She did know of one pharmacy. Come to think of it, the reason she remembered it was because Liu Fengmian, in order to get rid of her for a "mission," deliberately lied and said that his eye disease had flared up.

She foolishly believed it at the time, so she stopped passersby and asked around for a long time before finally finding a place to get Liu Fengmian some Chinese medicine.

When she arrived at the "Baozhi Pharmacy," she saw a young apprentice picking medicine by the counter, so she quickly went up to him and asked, "Young apprentice, where is your doctor?"

The fifteen- or sixteen-year-old apprentice looked up and saw Zheng Quchi and Yuwen Sheng, whom she was holding. His eyes widened in disbelief: "What are you all doing here...?"

She ignored his surprised expression and went straight to her request: "My husband has injured his foot. Please call your doctor to come and take a look."

"Oh, okay, wait a moment..." He turned around halfway and said, "You can carry your husband to the next room and sit down. I'll go and call the doctor right away."

He quickly went into the back room. Upon hearing this, Zheng Quchi found a private room in the pharmacy and carefully put Yuwen Sheng down.

He had been resting with his eyes closed, but when she put him down on the chair, he slowly opened his eyes.

"arrive?"

"We've arrived. Just bear with it a little longer."

"I'm not in pain."

Zheng Quchi pursed his lips.

It would be strange if it didn't hurt.

She wasn't used to carrying a handkerchief, so she simply rolled up her sleeves, leaned close to him, and carefully wiped away the thin layer of sweat from his forehead.

He raised his eyes slightly, staring at her face through the red veil.

Actually, she was sweating even more, but she didn't have time to wipe it off herself, as she was too busy taking care of him.

"Are you... feeling sorry for me?" He seemed unfamiliar with this feeling.

Zheng Quchi paused, then sighed.

"Yeah, is that not allowed?"

Upon hearing this, Yuwen Sheng carefully discerned the veracity of her words. Only after confirming it did he slowly reveal a flawless smile, like a white lotus: "I enjoy your concern. If I get hurt again next time, will you still show me more concern?"

"Are you crazy?" Zheng Quchi chuckled and scolded him, "I'll let it go this time, but who would want to get hurt again next time?"

Of course.

That's him.

Yuwen Sheng thought to himself silently.

If he were alright, she would probably be distracted by other people or things, and wouldn't be as focused on him as she is now.

"They're here, they're here."

The young apprentice lifted the curtain of the cubicle and quickly brought over a middle-aged man wearing a square hat and a thick gray-blue coat.

Zheng Quchi quickly stood up. When she looked back at the middle-aged man's attire, she knew he was the doctor who treated patients at this pharmacy.

She briefly described the injury to him: "Doctor, my husband injured his foot and bled quite a bit..."

"Please wait, madam."

The doctor pressed his hand down, indicating that she didn't need to rush to tell him too much, and that he would assess the injury himself.

When his slightly arrogant gaze fell on the injured Yuwen Sheng, his pupils froze for a second, and he stared at the other man blankly for a second, but he quickly returned to his original state.

But when she spoke again, her voice was somewhat strained: "I will take a good look at him."

"Then I'll have to trouble the doctor."

Zheng Quchi stepped aside to let him step forward.

However, the doctor suddenly made a suggestion: "I noticed that your husband's shoes are all punctured and covered in blood. Madam, why don't you take advantage of the time I'm treating him to buy some new shoes and socks for him to change into?"

Zheng Quchi's gaze also fell on Liu Fengmian's blood-stained shoes. It was indeed as the doctor had said, but she was still a little worried about leaving him alone here.

Just as she hesitated, she heard Liu Fengmian say, "Qu Chi, you go ahead. I'll be fine here alone."

Since he had said so, Zheng Quchi nodded: "Alright, I'll go right away. You stay here and treat your foot injury. Wait for me a moment, I'll be right back after I buy the things."

"good."

Seeing that he had found her location by following the sound of her voice, he smiled at her with a sweet and gentle smile.

Zheng Quchi followed his heart and leaned forward to give him a light kiss on the forehead as a reward.

"Thank you for being so brave to walk towards me earlier."

Yuwen Sheng's breathing suddenly quickened for a moment.

After thanking everyone, Zheng Quchi left, but he remained staring blankly in the direction where her figure disappeared.

After the doctor and Zheng Quchi left, and also sent away the medicine boy, the doctor's face turned solemn, and he bowed and knelt down.

"Fu Rong is here to greet the General."

Yuwen Sheng's expression remained unchanged: "When did you arrive in Fuxian?"

The doctor raised his head, his face clearly that of a middle-aged man, yet revealing the vigor and cheerfulness of a young man: "What a coincidence! I just changed my clothes and was planning to arrange an identity for myself before reporting to the camp, but I didn't expect to run into the general. I was quite startled just now, especially since the general was accompanied by a young girl..."

At this point, he recalled the scene that had shocked him earlier, and slowly fell silent, lost in thought.

"Fu Rong, if you dare to look at anything you shouldn't besides what I've told you to watch out for, I'll take them out and feed them to the dogs, understand?"

Fu Rong was immediately terrified and his face turned pale. He said with a bitter expression, "No, General, I just felt that the girl seemed a little strange, so I took a few more glances. There's really nothing else."

That's my wife.

Yuwen Sheng's sinister and bloodthirsty gaze made Fu Rong realize his seriousness.

"The general's wife—" Fu Rong's eyes widened suddenly, his mind seemingly going blank for a moment, and he stammered, "Wife?! The general is married? What about Princess Sheng'an?"
