Chapter 22 wasn't it called "You're a Ghost"?

His expression immediately changed, and he put on a fawning look, "I was just joking, why are you making such a fuss? Mr. Huo invited me, how could I dare to back out of the performance?"

Who would dare disrespect Huo Yanting? Unless they didn't want to continue in this industry.

Meng Qianwei stuffed the contract into Huo Yanting's hand, and only then did the two continue!

After Su Miao finished breakfast, she went to the living room and found that Huo Yanting was no longer there, but Meng Qianwei was still sitting in the same spot, holding a script in her hand, as if she was thinking about something.

Seeing Su Miao approaching out of the corner of his eye, he said, "Hey? Could you get me a glass of water? I'm a little thirsty."

His tone was arrogant, which made me feel uncomfortable.

Su Miao looked around and saw that she was all alone. She pointed to herself with her index finger and asked, "Are you calling me?"

Meng Qianwei frowned slightly, a hint of impatience flashing in her eyes. She looked at Su Miao with annoyance, "Is there anyone else here? Didn't I call you a ghost?"

In public, Meng Qianwei always presented herself as gentle and kind. Almost everyone in the country and even the world knew that Meng Qianwei was a female celebrity with a very good temper. However, Su Miao had witnessed Meng Qianwei's true colors today.

Sure enough, what is shown on camera is not necessarily her most authentic self.

Su Miao frowned. Meng Qianwei was a big star invited by Huo Yanting to play the female lead in "The First Abandoned Concubine". She was someone she couldn't afford to offend.

We can't afford to offend them, can we?

On second thought, there's really nothing wrong with pouring water for an international superstar; in fact, she's the one who benefits from it.

"Oh, okay, I'll be right there." Su Miao ran into the kitchen, poured Meng Qianwei a glass of warm water, and then brought it to her.

Meng Qianwei was still studying the script intently, her eyes darting around without even looking up. She simply reached out her hand, and whether intentionally or not, her hand only touched the edge of the cup. Su Miao didn't realize it, assuming she had the cup firmly in her hand. She let go of the cup, and the water spilled directly onto Meng Qianwei's expensive dress.

"Ah—" Meng Qianwei stood up in surprise, threw down the script, and hurriedly patted the water off her skirt, but it was too late. After one cup of water, her skirt was already soaked.

The cup fell to the ground and shattered.

Su Miao stared in horror at Meng Qianwei's wet front, her mind blank. The clothes worn by a big star were not cheap items bought on the street or Taobao for a few dozen yuan.

Those were all calculated using four zeros, what should I do? She accidentally got Meng Qianwei's skirt wet...

Su Miao was still thinking about how to make amends, but unexpectedly, Meng Qianwei raised her eyes, a fierce glint flashing in them, and slapped Su Miao hard across the face, sending Su Miao's face flying to the side.

A loud "slap" echoed throughout the living room. Liu Ma heard the noise and ran out, only to see her mistress had been slapped. A look of heartache and anxiety flashed across her face, and she hurriedly and secretly ran upstairs to find Huo Yanting.

"Do you know how much this dress cost me? How dare you splash water on it?" Meng Qianwei pointed her slender finger at Su Miao's nose and scolded her.

"I...I didn't mean to." Su Miao didn't know whether she hadn't held it properly or Meng Qianwei hadn't caught it properly, but faced with Meng Qianwei's scolding, Su Miao could only take all the blame on herself.

The slap on her face stung, but Su Miao didn't care.

After all, Meng Qianwei was invited back by Huo Yanting to play the female lead in "The First Abandoned Concubine," so Huo Yanting must value her highly.

If Huo Yanting offends Meng Qianwei, he will definitely not let her off the hook.

"Not on purpose? Do you think a simple 'not on purpose' can erase your mistake? Aren't you being too naive?" Meng Qianwei scoffed.

Isn't this woman too naive? She got her skirt wet and thought a simple apology would appease her anger?
