Chapter 10 Taking Back What Belonged to Her Mother

"Yes." Yuzhu took the letter, and the two of them took three steps back and went out.

Half an hour later, "Miss, are you really going to do this? Wouldn't this be letting the Second Miss off too easily? It will be difficult for her to find such a marriage again in the future, especially since you and the Prince are in love." Dewdrop said the last sentence very softly, and if Lian Sang hadn't practiced martial arts, she wouldn't have been able to hear it.

"What mutual affection? I just fell into their trap. Who told my maternal grandfather to be the richest man in the world? He only had my mother as his daughter, and my mother and her three uncles only had me as their daughter. So do as I say," Jiang Wei said indifferently.

"Yes." Dewdrop hung her head dejectedly; how could her daughter's life be so miserable?

Jiang Wei tapped her fingers lightly on the table, lost in thought for a moment. “Lian Sang, come closer. I have some things to arrange for you.”

"Yes." Lian Sang stood opposite Jiang Wei.

Jiang Wei then explained the tasks to Lian Sang, saying, "Do you understand everything?"

"Understood," Lian Sang replied.

Jiang Wei was in a great mood. The people her maternal grandfather sent were really good and very useful.

"Girl," Dewdrop pouted.

Jiang Wei looked at her with a puzzled expression.

Before she could ask, Dewdrop continued, "Does the young lady think I'm stupid and useless, and assign me all the work?"

Jiang Wei couldn't help but laugh. "Miss, I have something extremely important for you to do."

"Alright, please go ahead, miss." Dewdrop beamed.

Jiang Wei whispered a few words in her ear.

"This servant understands."

Jiang Wei stood up and straightened her clothes. "Let's go! Take the maids and servants with us."

Fuqin Academy.

"What? Master didn't punish that wretch? Where is Master?" Aunt Liu was furious.

"After leaving the eldest daughter's courtyard, the master went straight to the study in the front yard. The servants said that the master didn't look too good," Amei replied.

The master had promised her that he would punish Jiang Wei and then have dinner with her, but instead of punishing her, he didn't.

He didn't even come to have dinner with her; Jiang Wei must be stirring up trouble and sowing discord in front of him again.

Aunt Liu swept the table, scattering the food that Amei had set out all over the floor, and breaking the porcelain everywhere.

"Auntie, I'm busy!" Jiang Wei arrived gracefully, her every move exuding the air of a noble lady from a prominent family, unlike the daughter of a mere physician. "It seems I've come at the wrong time. I won't stay any longer; I'll just take what I need and leave."

Jiang Wei sat down in the main seat and pointed to the things in the room, "Move all of these, these, these, and these out of the house."

As Aunt Liu watched the maids and servants carry away one valuable item after another, her heart bled, and she was so angry that her hair almost stood on end.

"Jiang Wei, what right do you have to take my things!" Aunt Liu gritted her teeth, almost grinding them to dust.

"Yours?" Jiang Wei scoffed. "When did my mother's things become yours? You've probably forgotten what you looked like when you first entered the Jiang family! Shall I help you remember?"

She still remembered her mother telling her, "When your father brought Aunt Liu back from outside, she was wearing a tattered thin cotton dress, standing in the cold wind shivering, and she was thin and pitiful."

Your father said that his cousin's family had suffered a disaster and couldn't afford food, so she and her husband came to us for help. Her husband died on the way, and I took pity on her and took her in. To me, it was just another pair of chopsticks, but who knew…

Her mother paused for a moment, then said, "You have another sister." Her words were filled with endless sorrow.

The maids and servants were busy, and there were precious porcelain pieces and screens worth a fortune. Servants were coming and going.

Seeing that the moving was almost complete, Jiang Wei stood up and said, "Take this set of golden nanmu furniture with you."

Before leaving, Jiang Wei glanced back at the empty room and nodded in satisfaction.

He didn't forget to throw a bucket of cold water on her to bring her back to reality, saying, "This... is yours."

Lian Sang walked at the back, untying the maids and servants of Aunt Liu.

The old women sweeping outside should sneak away as far as possible; they're shameless enough not to bother with trouble now.

Jiang Wei returned home laden with goods. She had the women put the items into the storeroom and then went back to her own courtyard, where she had Yu Zhu register and record them.

Inside the room, Aunt Liu screamed in a shrill voice that sent chills down everyone's spine. The maids who usually served her closely trembled and walked in with a look of utter despair.

Aunt Liu wanted to smash things, but there were hardly any things left in the room.

Winter nights come early, and the crescent moon hangs coldly in the sky.

After finishing her meal, Jiang Wei read a medical book she had gotten from Aunt Liu for a while, and then went to bed early.

In the early morning, the frost flowers on the grass and tree branches were made crystal clear by the first rays of sunlight.

Jiang Wei rolled over in her warm bed and slept for another half an hour before getting up, completely satisfied.

Dewdrop helped her wash up and styled her hair into a lily bun.

It must be said that Dewdrop's hands are truly skillful; her hairstyling is top-notch.

Raindrops set breakfast on the table: a few side dishes, a plate of steamed dumplings, and red date and millet porridge.

After Jiang Wei finished her meal, she went out with Lu Zhu and Lian Sang.

"What? Jiang Wei went out?" Jiang Rou sat up in bed, ignoring the pain in her legs, and got off the bed. "Help me with my makeup."

She regretted kneeling. Her father didn't even come to see her. He used to dote on her the most, but now everything has changed.

"Go and find out where Jiang Wei went." Jiang Wei must have gone to see the young master. That bitch is trying to steal him from me, shameless.

Even though the prince doesn't love her, she still clings to him.

"Second Miss, the gatekeeper said he overheard that the Eldest Miss invited the Young Master to the Drunken Spring Pavilion." The maid who had inquired returned.

"Get the car ready, I'm going out." Jiang Rou quickly finished her makeup and left with Aru.

A-Jing was her most trusted maid, while A-Mei was more honest and less useful than A-Jing, which is why A-Ru was put in her place.

"Miss, has she found the Second Miss?" Dewdrop asked Jiang Wei from inside the carriage.

"She may be a bit slow, but she's not that stupid," Jiang Wei couldn't help but laugh.

"The young lady has arrived." The driver stopped the carriage.

Lian Sang got up, jumped out of the carriage, and lifted the curtain.

After Jiang Wei got out of the car, Lu Zhu put the hot water bottle into Jiang Wei's hand.

The three of them walked into the third floor of Mingyu Pavilion and opened the window to see the private room that Zuichunlou had reserved under Jiang Rou's name.

Fifteen minutes later, a man in his forties entered from outside, followed by a young apprentice.

Jiang Wei stood up to greet him, "Dr. Mo."

Doctor Mo sat down and waited for Jiang Wei to speak without saying a word.

Jiang Wei gestured for Lian Sang to leave, and Lu Zhu poured a cup of tea for Doctor Mo.

Jiang Wei pushed the book on the table toward Doctor Mo, saying, "I found this medical book by chance in my mother's dowry. I thought it would be of great use to Doctor Mo, so I brought it to you."

To make a good impression, Aunt Liu took a lot of books from her mother, including this medical book. However, the medical book looked ordinary and the paper was not the best, so Aunt Liu kept it in a corner.

Fortunately, it was well preserved.

Doctor Mo remained calm as he picked up the book from the table, flipped through it, and soon his pupils dilated.
