Chapter 132 Dreaming

Upon hearing Xiao Zhan's name, Jiang Wei suddenly opened her eyes and sat up abruptly in bed.

Looking around the room, she realized that nothing here was familiar to her, so she wasn't dreaming.

She vaguely remembered Xiao Zhan grilling meat for her. Wherever Prince Shen and the others were, that was what her husband should do. He should grill meat for his wife, and all the hard work should be done by him. His wife only needed to enjoy the meat.

However, Xiao Zhan always felt embarrassed because she was so outstanding, and she kept her head down while eating meat.

“Miss, the way you looked when you were drinking last night…” Dewdrop paused and didn’t continue.

Seeing Jiang Wei looking at her, she said, "It's better to drink some more."

"???" Jiang Wei was even more puzzled.

Dewdrop gave her the hand that was still alive and told her everything that had happened last night, adding that she had also bitten General Xiao, and almost everyone here had seen it.

Jiang Wei lay down in despair, staring at the ceiling above the bed.

"Go out and tell General Xiao and the others that I have a terrible headache and that they should return to the capital first. I will go back on my own later."

Dewdrop went out and told Xiao Zhan.

Xiao Zhan stepped in and stood at the door. "Did Miss Jiang drink the hangover soup? She must feel terrible."

Upon hearing Xiao Zhan's voice, Jiang Wei buried herself in the blanket in embarrassment.

He said in a muffled voice, "I'm fine, just a bit of a headache. I'll be fine after lying down for a while. General Xiao, you can go back first if you have something to do."

Xiao Zhan didn't answer her question, but instead asked, "May I come in?"

After a long silence without hearing Jiang Wei's reply, Xiao Zhan, worried that something had happened to her, went inside.

Pull Jiang Wei's blanket down a little so that her head is exposed.

Jiang Wei's head was buzzing, and she didn't hear Jiang Wei's question at all. She didn't hear him speak again, so she thought he had already left!

It turned out that it wasn't Dew that was pulling the blanket, but Xiao Zhan.

Jiang Wei gripped the blanket tightly with both hands, only her face showing, and looked at Xiao Zhan nervously.

Xiao Zhan sat on the edge of the bed and picked up the hangover soup next to him. He tested the temperature and it was just right.

"Sit up and drink some hangover soup first. Your head will feel better in a while. After you finish drinking, have some breakfast and then rest. I'll wait for you to come back whenever you want."

Jiang Wei felt ashamed when she thought about what Lu Zhu had told her about the jokes she had made last night.

"General Xiao..." Jiang Wei hadn't finished speaking.

Xiao Zhan interrupted her, "You called me 'little brother' last night, and now you're planning to abandon me again?"

Xiao Zhan's expression was somewhat pitiful, and Jiang Wei couldn't help but feel heartache and pity for him.

"I didn't," Jiang Wei replied, waving her hands.

"So that means what you said last night still stands!" Xiao Zhan still looked at her with that same expression.

He found that expression really useful; no wonder those who seduce rich young ladies have to look so affectionate and pitiful.

Seeing that Jiang Wei didn't answer, he asked again, "Does it count or not?"

Jiang Wei couldn't bear to look directly at the gaze that shifted from eager to disappointed.

"Yes," Jiang Wei said.

"Then tell me, what did you promise me?" Xiao Zhan continued to ask her.

Jiang Wei couldn't remember anything; she had blacked out. She only remembered drinking a cup of rice wine and finding it quite good. She wanted another cup, but Xiao Zhan wouldn't let her and kept feeding her meat to try and shut her up.

Xiao Zhan's eyes held a hint of a smile. "You can think about it slowly, I'm not in a hurry. Get up and have some hangover soup first. I don't make it often, but it should be pretty good."

Jiang Wei couldn't refuse any longer, so she stood up and took the bowl from Xiao Zhan's hand, saying, "Thank you, General Xiao."

Xiao Zhan looked at her incredulously, "What did you call me? You've forgotten again?"

Seeing Xiao Zhan's obvious disappointment, Jiang Wei quickly asked, "Little brother?"

Upon hearing the word "little brother," Xiao Zhan visibly smiled again.

Jiang Wei was stunned. The War King, who was decisive and ruthless on the battlefield and could scare even a baby to tears, could change his expression so easily.

Jiang Wei felt that she was still sleepy. She drank the hangover soup in one gulp and showed the bowl to Xiao Zhan.

Xiao Zhan took the bowl.

Jiang Wei collapsed immediately. She must still be dreaming. If she takes another nap, she'll probably be better by the time she wakes up.

Xiao Zhan covered her with the blanket, "Then you can sleep a little longer."

Seeing that there was no movement inside the room, Jiang Wei opened her eyes and tried to get up, but found herself resting on a chaise lounge not far away.

Jiang Wei was startled to find someone else inside.

Xiao Zhan wasn't sleeping very soundly to begin with, and she woke him up with a start.

"Are you hungry?" Xiao Zhan asked her.

"You...you...you sleep where very frequently?"

"There are no more rooms available. I didn't sleep all night, so I took a short rest here. I hope I didn't scare you! Don't worry, the news about what happened here won't get back to Kyoto."

Jiang Wei noticed that Xiao Zhan's brows were indeed showing signs of fatigue. "It's nothing, you should rest."

She couldn't bear to send him away.

Xiao Zhan's smile deepened; what the book said was indeed true.

"Go wash up first, I'll go get you breakfast from Happiness." Xiao Zhan got up and went out, calling Lu Zhu in.

When he returned, Jiang Wei was already dressed and sitting at the table.

When she saw Xiao Zhan return, she got up and waited for him to come over.

The breakfast table was piled high with food; there was no way we could possibly finish it all.

He then politely asked Xiao Zhan if he wanted to eat together.

Xiao Zhan accepted the invitation without any hesitation and sat down to have breakfast with her.

The simple joys of everyday life—this is what Xiao Zhan longs for most.

He glanced at Jiang Wei, whom he thought he would never have again.

Unexpectedly, fate gave him a chance to undo his mistake, and he will definitely make the most of it.

Jiang Wei and the others had almost finished eating when Prince Shen and his wife finally got up.

After washing up, the servants brought them breakfast. Whether it was because they were too tired or because today's breakfast was delicious at the Prince's mansion, they didn't know.

The two of them ate quite a lot, almost finishing everything the servants brought.

After everyone packed their things, the prey were divided up, and everyone boarded their carriages and headed towards the capital city.

Just as when I arrived, the dewdrop sat at the door like a quail.

She was already very grateful.

Son-in-law...

oh……

No……

It was because General Xiao didn't kick her off the carriage that her daughter would talk to her for no reason.

She could feel a chill descending from above.

She was shivering from the cold.

After that, she didn't dare to reply and lay on her knees, pretending to be asleep.

Pretending, pretending, I actually fell asleep.

Dewdrop: "…………" I must have been sleeping poorly last night because I couldn't sleep in my new bed.

Jiang Wei: "…………" This girl is such a good sleeper.

Xiao Zhan: 'You're quite clever.'

Upon arriving at the Jiang residence, Jiang Wei breathed a sigh of relief and drew back the curtains to get some fresh air.

She noticed that Shuizhu was looking around in the alley next to the deposit shop. When she saw that it was her daughter returning, she was overjoyed at first, but then she was busy carrying a load.

The water droplet looked around and then quietly ran over.

"Miss, it's terrible! The Marquis of Chang'an's family has come to propose marriage."
