Chapter 37 Annoying People

How could there possibly be a ten-year-old child still alive?

Ten years old?

Could it be...?

Could it be that the child from ten years ago didn't die?

How could that be? Then where has this child been all these years?

How did his little darling find out about this?

Chen Yan looked at Jiang Wei with a question in his eyes.

Jiang Wei had already prepared an excuse, saying that when she went to Aunt Liu's place a few days ago, she accidentally overheard them saying that her younger brother was still alive. They said that since he was born, they had abandoned him to be raised on the estate and tormented him by making him work and not feeding him enough, which is why he looked like he was seven or eight years old even though he was ten.

Jiang Wei spoke so pitifully, and Yun Zhao was right in front of her.

Chen Yan was furious. His own grandson was suffering so much outside, while they had been so caring towards Aunt Liu's child all these years. How could there be such a vicious woman?

Chen Yanzai carefully examined the two of them and found that they did indeed look more and more alike.

Yun Zhao was only short and had a sallow complexion, looking malnourished.

Upon closer inspection, faint bruises could be seen on her face, which matched what Jiang Wei had described.

Chen Yan beckoned to Yun Zhao, gesturing for him to come over and take his hand. "Child, you've suffered. From now on, your maternal grandfather will love you and won't let you suffer anymore."

Yun Zhao smiled purely, her eyes revealing strength and resilience. "Thank you, Grandfather. Zhao'er doesn't feel bitter. It's just that I felt lonely before because I didn't have any relatives. Now that my relatives are all around me, Zhao'er feels very lucky."

How precious it is to lose something and then get it back.

Chen Yan pulled him into his arms.

Chen Yan nodded. "Chen Fu, have the kitchen prepare more nourishing medicinal dishes to help my little grandson recover. Also, invite his uncle, aunt, and cousin over to meet him."

Chen Yan was chatting with Jiang Wei and her brother when, after a short while, Madam Yu came in with Chen Shiyu.

"Wei'er is here." The voice could be heard into the house as soon as she reached the door.

"Mother, don't pull me, I can walk by myself." Chen Shiyu was grabbed by the sleeve and pulled in by Madam Yu.

"You're always neglecting your duties, running around outside all day, chasing after cats and dogs, Wei'er, tell me about your second cousin."

"Mother... how can you do this, letting your sister teach your brother a lesson?" Chen Shiyu said irritably.

"Oh... you're still unhappy? Look how sensible Wei'er is, and look at you, what kind of behavior is that?" Madam Yu didn't give him any face at all.

"Father-in-law," Madam Yu greeted Chen Yan.

Chen Shiyu, still not free from the clutches of the Yu family, looked at Yun Zhao beside Jiang Wei and asked.

“Cousin, where did you pick up this kid? You know what, he really does look a bit like you, especially his eyes.” Chen Shiyu saw Yun Zhao as soon as he came in, which reminded him of Jiang Wei’s appearance when she was a child.

“Look, look, you used to look at me like that when you were little, clear-eyed but with a hint of foolishness,” Chen Shiyu said with a smile.

"That's why I say my second cousin hasn't changed. He's still just as annoying as he was when we were kids," Jiang Wei said bluntly.

Ms. Yu nodded in agreement, which was truly annoying.

'But this child really does resemble Jiang Wei when she was little. The world is truly full of wonders! If my younger sister's child were still alive, he'd probably be a bit older than him!'

Her poor little sister…

"Let me introduce you. This is your aunt, and this is your cousin." Chen Yan told Yun Zhao to greet them first, without explaining anything to them, and directly introduced them to Yun Zhao.

He planned to have the whole family explain the whole story during the meal.

Yun Zhao stepped forward and bowed to Madam Yu, saying, "May you be well, Madam Yu."

Seeing how sensible the little one was, Madam Yu couldn't help but feel sorry for him, "Oh...good child..."

The atmosphere inside was warm and harmonious.

Before Madam Yu could finish speaking, a sweet, girlish voice came from outside the door, "Grandfather, Aunt, Second Cousin, you've returned to the capital. Rou'er has come to see you."

"Oh... my sister's here too." Jiang Rou walked in from outside with her younger brother Jiang Yang.

Jiang Yang, with a smile on his chubby face, followed behind Jiang Rou.

Jiang Rou affectionately hugged Madam Yu's hand, "Grandfather, Uncle, and Aunt went to the capital a few days ago. My sister didn't tell Rou'er, so Rou'er is only coming to see you now."

Jiang Rou tilted her head back coquettishly, "Auntie won't be angry, will she?"

Yu was annoyed by her embrace and pushed her away. What an ingrate! The Chen family spent so much money to support them, hoping they would treat Wei'er well.

She even had the audacity to steal her own sister's fiancé.

It's disgusting. Madam Yu doesn't want to see her even once; it's too much of an eyesore.

Madam Yu was always straightforward. She disliked them and didn't want them around for even a moment. So she said, "Miss Jiang, if you have nothing else to do, you should go back. I have things to do at home, so I won't keep you any longer."

Jiang Rou couldn't believe it. Her aunt, who used to dote on her in every way, was now telling her to get out.

Jiang Rou glanced at Jiang Wei, then looked at Madam Yu with tears in her eyes, "But what did you say to Aunt? That's why Aunt wanted to send Rou'er away!"

Chen Shiyu chuckled twice. "Miss Jiang suddenly showed up at my Chen family's door. Our whole family was not prepared to entertain her. What does this have to do with my cousin? And what is the logic behind Miss Jiang speaking ill of my cousin as soon as she arrives? Does she need Miss Jiang's permission to come to her maternal grandfather's house?"

Jiang Yang entered, casually cupped his hands in greeting, and without being called, plopped down in the seat next to Chen Yan.

She didn't greet him again, but instead used his greasy hands to pick up the fresh fruits on the table and started eating them by himself.

His aunt had told him that the Chen family was their money bag; they could come and take some money when they ran out, and there was no need to be polite to them.
