Chapter 41 Taking Without Asking

He is so lucky; he has found his family and is now able to attend school.

Ms. Yu was also very happy.

After the family finished their meal in harmony, Jiang Wei left Mingzhao at the Chen family's house and went back to her own residence.

Breeze Courtyard.

Dewdrop stood outside the courtyard gate, holding up her hands that were wrapped up tightly, looking around.

Mingming Qingfeng told her to go ahead with the soldiers, and that her daughter would arrive later.

They arrived yesterday, but her young lady hasn't returned by this time today.

Raindrops had called her several times, but she wouldn't come in.

Raindrop shook her head and let her go.

Aunt Xu was not far away, glancing over here from time to time. She had heard from Jiang Wen that Jiang Wei had been gone for two days and had not yet returned.

I'm a little worried; I want to come and take a look, but I'm not too sure I can just go in.

She paced back and forth by the roadside, so focused on her work that she didn't even notice Jiang Wei walking up to her.

"What are you looking at, Aunt? It's so cold today." Jiang Wei was in a very good mood today, her eyes were smiling and the corners of her lips were slightly raised. She walked over gracefully.

Aunt Xu suddenly heard a sound behind her, and before she could react, she was startled.

Holding the handkerchief to her chest, she composed herself and turned around. "Young lady, you're back."

Her joy was palpable, and she secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Although Jiang Wei and she hadn't been close over the years...

She always kept an eye on Jiang Wei silently. Although there was nothing she could do, she knew that Jiang Wei was doing well, and that she could give Madam an explanation after Jiang Wei died.

This morning, Jiang Wei hadn't returned yet, so she couldn't help but want to come and see, but she was afraid that if word got out, it would be bad for Jiang Wei's reputation.

She waited until after lunch before coming, but Jiang Wei returned shortly after she arrived.

"I ate a bit too much for lunch and came out to digest, but I didn't expect to end up here with you, Miss Xu," Aunt Xu said, repeating the explanation she had prepared beforehand.

"Since you're already here, Auntie, please come in and have a cup of tea," Jiang Wei invited her.

Aunt Xu waved her hands in front of her chest, "No, no need, I'll head back now."

Aunt Xu turned and left with light steps, as if she had only remembered after leaving. She turned back to Jiang Wei and said, "Thank you for the things you sent, Miss. The clothes for Wen'er and me fit very well."

The fish and shrimp were incredibly fresh; I haven't tasted such delicious fish and shrimp since the lady passed away. And there was enough charcoal.

"Young lady, Wen'er and I have nothing to lack. Young lady, please prepare more for yourself as well." Aunt Xu was a little embarrassed, but she gave Jiang Wei some outdated jewelry to add to her dowry. It was a gift from her mother.

Jiang Wei had taken care of everything for the mother and daughter, inside and out, but she had nothing left to give in return.

Jiang Wei then noticed that Aunt Xu was wearing fashionable new clothes today.

She was in a good mood today. Seeing that Aunt Xu's life had improved, she seemed even happier, and the corners of her mouth curved more.

She's back!

She came back to make things better for those who were good to her, for her family.

Now that her life has changed so visibly, she feels much happier.

Aunt Xu had already turned around when Jiang Wei spoke up from behind her: "Aunt, I'd like to have dinner at your place tonight."

Aunt Xu's pupils dilated, somewhat unable to believe that these words had come from Jiang Wei's mouth.

Jiang Wei pouted, "Does Auntie not want Wei'er to go?"

Aunt Xu felt the voices swirling around her head, making her head feel a little foggy, but when she heard Jiang Wei ask if she wasn't welcome...

She quickly waved her hand and said no.

"Then it's settled." Jiang Wei patted her cheeks. Why was she acting like a little girl today?

She's already lived a second life, this shouldn't be happening.

When Aunt Xu returned to her courtyard, she began to prepare dinner. She took out her meager savings and asked her maid to go out and buy some things.

Dewdrop finally saw her daughter, who ran over with her hands waving like two rice dumplings.

"Miss, Miss, Miss, you're finally back!" Dewdrop greeted Jiang Wei with great joy and chatter.

"Oh... Sister, you've finally decided to come back?" Jiang Rou smiled innocently.

"My sister thought you were going to live with the Chen family from now on," Jiang Rou continued.

Jiang Wei's face suddenly turned cold; her good mood for the day was ruined by Jiang Rou.

In the morning at her maternal grandfather's house, she refrained from making a scene for fear of upsetting them.

But then she jumped in front of her again, and Jiang Wei walked towards Jiang Rou with a cold face.

Jiang Wei stared blankly at her, then slowly walked over. As she approached Jiang Rou, she sensed the disgust emanating from Jiang Wei.

Jiang Rou was a little scared and gripped the hot water bottle tightly.

Just then.

A maidservant stepped forward to greet them, "Eldest Miss, Second Miss, Young Master Song has arrived. Master has asked us to invite Second Miss over."

When Jiang Rou heard that the maid had come to invite her, and that her father had sent someone to invite her, she forgot her fear and instead felt a little smug. She deliberately asked, "You said that Prince Song is here. If he is here, why does Father want to invite me?"

Are you inviting me alone, or are you inviting me to come with my sister?

She deliberately wanted Jiang Wei to hear that she would soon be the Crown Prince's wife.

Jiang Wei was nothing; she was just a shameless woman whose reputation was ruined and no one would marry her, a lowly woman who could be bullied by anyone.

The maidservant, of course, knew about Jiang Wei's previous relationship with Prince Song; she had been working in the Jiang household for a long time.

When the eldest daughter got engaged to Prince Song, she even received a wedding gift.

She had originally planned to wait until the eldest daughter entered the courtyard before inviting the second daughter.

But it seemed like they wouldn't be separated anytime soon, and she didn't dare to delay, so she had to come and ask them.
