Dewdrop walked over and closed the window, grinning and showing her teeth as she held up her hand for Jiang Wei to see. "It's all healed now, look, the flesh has grown back!"
"This servant wants to come back and serve you, Miss. You've been away from home these days, leaving early and returning late. It's been quite a while since I've served you," Dewdrop said, her voice tinged with grievance.
“This maidservant is the young lady’s maidservant. How could I not serve the young lady for several days?”
"I'm just busy, girl. You can stay home and wait for me, okay?" Jiang Wei comforted her.
"But I want to serve you, Miss. How can a personal maid not be by her master's side?" Dewdrop said, sounding aggrieved.
"Then shall I take you with me today?" Jiang Wei asked her.
"You're going out again today, young lady?" Dewdrop asked in surprise.
"Hmm, Little Dewdrop, would you like to go with the young lady?" Jiang Wei asked her.
Dewdrop earnestly advised Jiang Wei, "Miss, it's so cold outside, and the snow has piled up quite thick. Could you please not go? I'm worried about you."
Jiang Wei chuckled and pinched Lu Zhu's cheek. "No, I have to go today."
Dewdrop hung her head, "Let Sister Liansang and Sister Chen Hui accompany you. I'll wait for you at home."
There's a type of woman who waits at home for her husband, saying, "If you encounter anything outside, your sisters can help you."
She raised her hand and said, "Look, this servant can't help you at all, Miss." She was still a little sad when she finished speaking.
"How could you be useless? You're the most, most useful girl in my heart. When your hand is fully healed, give me the most fashionable hairstyle." Jiang Wei couldn't help but feel sad when she looked at the dew.
When Jiang Wei arrived at An Sheng Ji, there were a few people buying grain, but no one was buying charcoal or cotton.
The shopkeeper was so worried that his already wrinkled old face became even more deeply furrowed.
Seeing Jiang Wei approaching, he hurried forward to greet her.
His pained face broke into a smile that looked worse than crying. "Master, when I came from home today, I noticed that the charcoal shops elsewhere were doing quite well, unlike ours... which is so deserted."
"Boss, we have a shop in Chenjiacheng. Why don't we move all these things there to sell?" the shopkeeper suggested, genuinely not wanting to see Jiang Wei's business go bankrupt.
Jiang Wei gave him a gentle smile, "I know that the shopkeeper is always thinking about our shop and is afraid that I, the owner, will suffer losses."
Her eyes were full of reassurance, "The things in our shop will be sold. I have my own arrangements. The shopkeeper just needs to take care of everything in the shop. I will give everyone a red envelope when the time comes."
The shopkeeper nodded with a bitter face. Since the boss had said so, what could he, as the shopkeeper, say? He curtsied to Jiang Wei and then withdrew.
A magnificent carriage pulled by two fine horses was parked on the road outside the shop, completely out of place with the street.
It's like a piece of fine gold falling into a broken wooden box.
A young woman stepped down from the carriage, wearing a white moon-colored long dress with a bright red cloak over it, and holding a hot water bottle in her hands.
Like a celestial maiden descending from the heavens, she landed in this simple human world.
When those girls smiled, it was as if the snow would melt away.
"You made me search so hard. If Hong Xinyue hadn't told me yesterday that you had opened a shop and started a business, I wouldn't have known."
Gao Youlan walked briskly into the shop. "You didn't even tell me so I could have come and support you. How's business?"
Gao Youlan stopped in front of Jiang Wei and asked.
Jiang Wei was genuinely surprised that Gao Youlan would come to see her on such a cold day.
"Why did you come on such a cold day?" Jiang Wei held Gao Youlan's hand and led her into the inner room, where charcoal was burning.
"You're one to talk! I've been looking for this place for ages." Gao Youlan thought to herself that this shop was too remote, far from the center of the market. But when she thought about how her friend was just starting out in business, she swallowed her doubts.
"Why did I come? Of course I came to bring you business. Yesterday my father received a letter from the family saying that they would be coming to the capital to celebrate the New Year this winter. My family was worried that the grain and charcoal we had prepared would not be enough, so my mother asked me to come and add some."
"You didn't even tell me! If it weren't for Hong Xinyue, this business would have been a freebie for someone else." Gao Youlan scolded her.
"Do you think my business is too small? You don't like it?" Gao Youlan stared at Jiang Wei.
The household necessities were not normally available to Gao Youlan, a young woman. She had asked her mother for them after hearing Hong Xinyue mention it yesterday.
She got angry when she heard this, "Yesterday, Hong Xinyue had someone follow your employee here and you didn't know?"
"I know, she's giving me free publicity." Jiang Wei said nonchalantly.
Gao Youlan pouted, "You have no idea how awful what she said was."
"What I've heard is nothing but the same old stuff," Jiang Wei said, completely unconcerned.
Jiang Wei handed her a cup of hot tea. "Nuan Nuan, how could that be? I was thinking of having someone send you some grain and charcoal, but I was afraid it would be too abrupt. It's perfect that you're here today. I'll have someone pack it up for you so you can take it with you in a little while."
Gao Youlan took a sip of tea, glared at Jiang Wei, and said, "Who do you think you are? You're making it seem like I'm here to freeload. I'm here to do legitimate business, so you can give me a discount."
"I'll give it to you anyway, but I have something I'd like to ask you for help with," Jiang Wei said, holding Gao Youlan's hand.
"What kind of help?" Gao Youlan asked, her interest piqued, as she curiously looked Jiang Wei up and down.
Jiang Wei hesitated for a moment, "I originally wanted to send some charcoal to you and Princess Shen, but I was afraid of being presumptuous, so I haven't sent it yet. Now that you're here, I'd like to trouble you to take the charcoal I sent you back and also send some to Princess Shen for me, would that be alright?"
"It's nothing, I'll deliver it for you. But you have to accept my money. I don't think your business is doing very well. If it were, I would have just taken it. Now, let's buy it!" Gao Youlan was a straightforward girl, and the words she had been trying to hide for so long finally came out.
Jiang smiled and said, "You don't need to worry about the business. I have my own plans. It's settled then. I'll have someone pack the things."
Gao Youlan chatted with Jiang Wei for a few more minutes before leaving because she had to deliver something to Princess Consort Shen.
The shopkeeper frowned even more. If a fly were trapped inside, it would never escape that chasm, even if it didn't die.
According to the young lady's business principles, he will soon be able to return to Chen's shop.
The number given away is less than the number sold.
Gao Youlan arrived at the Prince Shen's residence and asked the servant at the gate to go in and inform the Princess Shen that Jiang Wei had sent her to deliver charcoal to their residence.
When the servant went in to talk, Princess Shen and Prince Shen were talking to Xiao Zhan.
Prince Shen glanced at Xiao Zhan. "What did you say? Jiang Wei sent the daughter of the Imperial Censor to deliver charcoal to the Prince's residence?"
The servant nodded. "Is that what Miss Gao said?"
