No one expected it to turn out this way.
The students in Class 36 were almost caught off guard.
Just a second ago, they had the most stacked blocks of all the classes, but now it's down to zero?
The other classes at least stacked a dozen or so building blocks. If they had none, wouldn't they be last place and only receive 500 yuan in funding?
Other classes nearby immediately gloated.
"I thought Jiang Nianzhen was really something, but she messed up at the crucial moment and dragged Class 36 down to last place."
"What's the point of stacking the blocks early? It's only useful if they're stacked securely until the staff has finished counting them."
“Look at the top class, they’ve already finished counting, and their thirty-seven building blocks are stacked so high and still don’t budge.”
"We thought Class 36 could turn things around this time, but it turns out they're still at the bottom. But isn't this normal for them?"
"What's this called again? Opening champagne at halftime, hahaha."
These sarcastic remarks made the students of Class 36 blush and turn pale.
Han Xu was not going to accept that. He was the first to stand up and start cursing at the bearded man.
"What the hell? You're saying our blocks aren't stacked securely? How come they were all stacked perfectly before you came over?"
"Besides, Sister Nian had already stacked all the blocks in four minutes. If they were really unstable, would they have been able to hold up until you arrived? Shouldn't they have collapsed long ago?"
The bearded man, however, acted as if it were none of his business and even started speaking in an official tone.
"Young man, I understand how you kids feel, but please don't be unreasonable and make trouble for us."
"The blocks have fallen over, that's all. Everyone saw it. Am I supposed to give your class full marks for this pile of blocks scattered all over the floor?"
"you……"
Han Xu was so angry that he wanted to continue arguing, but Jiang Nian stopped him and suddenly looked at the bearded man.
His gaze was icy, and he spoke in the tone of a declarative sentence: "You moved the table when I wasn't looking, didn't you?"
Just as this person came over, someone behind him was talking to Jiang Nian.
She was only looking away from the table for a few seconds, and all the building blocks on the table collapsed at once.
There wasn't even a breeze today; it couldn't be for any other reason than that person must have tampered with the weather.
Jiang Nian just couldn't understand why this person would come and mess with them, since she, or rather her class, couldn't have offended this staff member.
The bearded man felt a chill run down his spine under Jiang Nian's gaze, a little guilty, but he maintained a tough front: "Little girl, what are you talking about?"
"Why are all the students in your class like this? They lost the game but don't want to admit it, and they're trying to frame our staff for messing things up?"
The next second, Jiang Ranran's voice rang out from not far away.
"Sister, I thought you were a better student than me, but I didn't expect you to lose your composure in the end."
"However, no matter how unwilling you are to accept defeat, you can't be a sore loser. Why are you causing trouble for their staff?"
Jiang Nian met Jiang Ranran's gaze, and suddenly her brows furrowed; she had probably figured it out.
"Jiang Ranran, did you send this person to deliberately overturn our class's building blocks?" Jiang Nian asked.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ranran immediately said, "It wasn't me, sister, how could you slander me like that?"
"Is that so?" Jiang Nian sneered.
"I don't know if it was you or me, but you don't seem surprised at all when I said that this person deliberately knocked over our class's building blocks."
"I..." Jiang Ranran took a deep breath and subconsciously covered her mouth.
The students from Class 36 nearby also realized what was happening.
Han Xu's eyes widened: "Jiang Ranran, you wouldn't have bribed the staff to sabotage our building blocks so that your top class could get first place, would you?"
Seeing that what she had just done had been exposed in public, Jiang Ranran subconsciously took two steps back and swallowed nervously, saying, "I don't understand what you're saying."
She bit her lip, looking wronged.
"Sister, I came here to comfort your class, but instead of being grateful, you've started biting people. Since you don't welcome me, I'll just leave."
After saying that, Jiang Ranran turned and left.
Han Xu wanted to pull the person back, but Jiang Nian took a deep breath and stopped him: "Forget it. There are no surveillance cameras on the playground, and even if things are really as we think, there's no evidence."
"Are we just going to swallow this bitter pill and accept last place?"
Han Xu was furious. "The last place only gets 500 yuan in funding. How much can you buy with 500 yuan?"
"That way, we'll definitely be last in terms of sales, and how will our class ever go to the water park?"
Despite their anger, the whole class had no choice but to accept the outcome.
There will definitely be some discrepancies.
After all, Jiang Nian was so capable before, they should have received the most funding.
Now, inexplicably, it has become the one with the least funding, with only a pitiful five hundred yuan.
“It’s okay, Jiang Nian, Han Xu,” class monitor Wu Qiuqiu came over to comfort them. “Actually, we didn’t have much hope for the water park anyway.”
"Before you came, in competitions like this that affect the whole grade, our class never even made it into the top 30, let alone first place. We're used to it."
Wu Qiuqiu was telling the truth, but it left a bad taste in one's mouth.
"Who said that if we get 500 yuan in funding, we'll definitely be last in sales?" Jiang Nian suddenly spoke up. "Didn't the school say that we can choose what we buy?"
The others did not understand Jiang Nian's meaning.
