Chapter 162 All Five Brothers Are Back

Everyone was startled by the sudden sound.

Turning his head, he saw Jiang Ranran standing next to the pillar with a pale face and her fists clenched tightly.

"Jiang Ranran?"

Tang Qiuyue frowned, her face showing disgust.

"How did you end up here? I booked the whole place. Which security guard let you in?"

The other students in Class 36 also looked at Jiang Ranran with disgust.

Jiang Ranran is clearly Nianjie's half-sister, so how come she's so cunning and manipulative, always doing these underhanded things?

They were having a class reunion dinner, what was she doing there, being from an outstanding class?

Jiang Ranran remained unmoved, glaring hatefully at Jiang Nian, who sat in the middle of the group.

Jiang Nian lifted her eyelids and looked at Jiang Ranran.

His expression was cold: "What I'm capable of, why should you know?"

"Jiang Nian, no matter what, you're still my half-sister, right?"

Jiang Ranran had an expression that said she had been hurt by Jiang Nian.

“You know perfectly well that I, like Tang Qiuyue, have signed up for the instrumental music competition and will be performing on the cello. You know perfectly well that I dream of being admitted to Tsinghua University without taking the entrance exam, and the result of this instrumental music competition is very important to me.”

"If you can play the cello and you're at that level, even if you don't want to teach me, why would you teach my competitor?"

"Is your relationship with Tang Qiuyue closer than the blood ties between us sisters? Do you hate me that much that you don't want to see me do anything good?"

Jiang Ranran's words left everyone in Class 36 dumbfounded.

Wait, what exactly is this woman complaining about?

Why can she act like her sister Nian did something to wrong her?

What's with all this talk about the blood ties between sisters? Jiang Ranran herself is always doing those vicious things to frame and scheme against Jiang Nian.

Han Xu was about to start swearing when Jiang Nian stopped him.

I really don't want to waste my breath arguing with this kind of person.

His thin lips parted slightly, his eyes devoid of any warmth.

"Don't overestimate yourself, Jiang Ranran."

"Are you going to leave by yourself, or should I call security to help you leave?"

"you……"

Jiang Ranran's eyes were filled with resentment.

Why is that?!

How could Jiang Nian, a country bumpkin who grew up in the mountains, play the cello so well? She was the one who started learning the instrument from a very young age!

"Jiang Nian, I will definitely not let you have your way!"

Jiang Ranran bit her lip hard and threw out those words before leaving.

"Jiang Nian..."

Seeing Jiang Ranran leave, Tang Qiuya looked at Jiang Nian, hesitant to speak.

Jiang Nian saw through her thoughts at a glance and raised her eyes: "You wouldn't have listened to Jiang Ranran and be thinking that my helping you practice the piano is really just to make you outshine her, would you?"

Tang Qiuyue remained silent, somewhat lacking confidence.

She did consider Jiang Nian a friend, but she didn't know if Jiang Nian felt the same way.

After all, she used to be...

“I’m only helping you because we’re friends,” Jiang Nian said bluntly, putting her hands in her pockets. “If I ever have that thought again, I won’t go to your house again.”

“I can vouch for that,” Han Xu chimed in, “Someone like Jiang Ranran, Sister Nian wouldn’t bother wasting her time on her.”

Tang Qiuya felt a lump in her throat and quickly grabbed Jiang Nian's hand: "That won't do. I had my mom stock up on a whole refrigerator of strawberry ice cream at home. I can't finish it all by myself if you don't come."

*

After the party ended, Jiang Nian returned to the Ji family home.

This week, there was almost no one at home.

My eldest brother has been working late at the company for several days in a row. My second brother has been in Beijing, and Jiang Nian hasn't seen him since his last lecture. My third brother has returned to China, but I don't know what he's been busy with this week; he hasn't been home much.

Fourth Brother is filming on set, Fifth Brother is training for a competition, and Sixth Brother and Seventh Brother are in Europe and North America, respectively.

Even my maternal grandfather, who is much better now, was taken by my uncle to a neighboring city to see a waterfall and relax.

Ji Yuwei broke her leg and was living in an apartment outside, so Ji Xin moved there to take care of her.

Since Jiang Nian was alone, she simply gave the housekeeper and servants a day off as well.

So these past few days, the huge Ji family home has felt empty when I returned home.

It seems rather deserted today.

Jiang Nian entered the house and was about to turn on the light when the light switched on with a snap before she could.

Surprise!

The first thing that caught my eye was Fifth Brother's face.

Wearing a black T-shirt and cargo pants, his tousled hair and sharply defined features gave him a cool and stylish look. He came over and hugged her tightly, ruffling her hair with his large hands, his voice full of affection: "Baby Niannian, did you miss Fifth Brother?"

"Fifth Brother?"

Jiang Nian was somewhat surprised. Then, she realized that not only her fifth brother, but also her eldest, second, third, and fourth brothers were all standing in the living room.

The five older brothers are all exceptionally good-looking and have very different styles. Standing together, they are a feast for the eyes.

Jiang Nian had only ever seen so many of her brothers gathered together on the day she was taken back to the Ji family.

"Big brother, second brother, third brother, fourth brother... why are you all back?" Jiang Nian asked.

"Niannian, you've been home for so long, and we older brothers haven't had a proper chance to spend time with you yet,"

Ji Yanli said, "So this weekend, except for Bo Jianmufeng who is not in the country, everyone else came back specifically to be with you."

"Niannian, have you finished the test paper that your second brother left you last time?" Ji Yanci, wearing a white shirt, looked at Jiang Nian and asked.

The man was tall and slender, with gold-rimmed glasses perched on his high-bridged nose. His face was as clear as the moon, and his demeanor was consistently aloof and noble.

Ji Qiyue couldn't help but complain: "Who would ask their sister, whom they haven't seen in a long time, if she's done her test? No wonder my second brother is nicknamed the Living Yama at the academy."
