Jiang Nian did not stare at Wen Yu for long.
A few seconds later, he looked away.
She was indeed thirsty.
He lifted his mask slightly and drank almost half a bottle of water with a straw.
The cool, refreshing water soothed my dry throat, bringing a sense of comfort.
After using the restroom and resting briefly at her seat, Jiang Nian signaled to the staff to continue signing.
It lasted a full three hours.
After signing for the last person, Jiang Nian leaned back in her chair and took a breath.
To be honest, it's really tiring.
But seeing the readers' sparkling eyes as they looked at her, hearing their expressions of love for her and "The Impure Rose," and seeing them holding her signed books with such delight and excitement, made this fatigue nothing.
The enthusiastic readers, after buying and signing the books, were reluctant to leave.
They were all gathered outside the inner field.
It was only after the staff cleared the area, saying that the autograph session was over and that Liuguang should rest, that the crowd reluctantly and orderly left.
Once the venue was finally empty and quiet, Fang Tang looked at Jiang Nian with great joy.
"Congratulations on your first live autograph session! How about we go grab a bite to celebrate?"
Jiang Nian realized that she was going to meet with a wealthy young master.
He replied, "No, I have an appointment. I'll treat you to dinner another time."
Upon hearing this, Fang Tang left on her own.
The lights in the venue gradually came on, one by one, as they were turned off.
The bustling and noisy atmosphere inside the venue before made the empty hall seem all the more quiet.
But Jiang Nian enjoyed this moment of peace.
She stood up and walked towards the figure in the corner who had been with her for more than three hours.
Baseball cap, sunglasses, black face mask.
Jiang Nian was covered up completely.
In the dim light, she stood in front of a boy who was a head taller than her.
Before I could even speak, the other person spoke first.
Completely unlike her usual aura of keeping strangers at bay and her cold voice, her voice was slightly hoarse: "Are you tired?"
"If you want to go back to your place to rest, I'll take you. Or... I can treat you to something to eat."
"No."
Jiang Nian's voice was a little hoarse after responding to readers for three hours.
When the person in front of him spoke, Wen Yu felt that the voice sounded somewhat familiar, but he didn't think of Jiang Nian at all.
"Thank you for providing the venue for the book signing."
"Also, thank you for that glass of water earlier."
Jiang Nianyi has always been clear about her gratitude and grudges.
She showed no mercy when she grabbed Wen Yu by the neck.
They were very sincere when they expressed their gratitude.
“You don’t need to be so polite with me,” Wen Yu took a deep breath. “I have something I want to say to you.”
"Hmm?" Jiang Nian looked up.
Wen Yu sensed that the other person was quietly watching him behind the sunglasses.
My heartbeat was almost out of control.
"I first watched 'Edo Tensei Rose' two years ago. Before you became so famous and were seen by so many people."
"Back then, you were serializing your work on the forum, and I was probably one of the few people who saw your post. However, I didn't comment."
"I've rarely been interested in anything growing up."
"But after seeing your story, I started logging on every day to wait for your updates."
"I watched your posts go from being ignored to having more and more people leaving comments every day. And then, 'Edo Rose' became a global hit."
"To you, today is the first time you've met me; I'm just a stranger. But to me, you're not a stranger at all."
No.
He was not a stranger to her either.
We met at school yesterday.
However, Jiang Nian did not expect that Wen Yu would like Liu Guang so much.
I saw her when she was still unknown and have been with her all the way.
No wonder he would spend millions on tips, and he was even the administrator of her Weibo super topic.
But this feeling is really disjointed.
The person in front of her liked her so much, yet hated her so much at school. She didn't know how to respond.
After thinking for a long time, Jiang Nian finally said, "Well, you have a good eye."
He seemed to be praising Wen Yu, but in reality, he was praising himself.
Unexpectedly, Wen Yu also looked down at her.
Her eyes flickered: "Yes, I think so too."
“It’s getting late, so I’ll head back now,” Jiang Nian said. “You don’t need to see me off; it’s very convenient to ride a shared bike.”
After saying that, Jiang Nian prepared to leave.
But unexpectedly, the next second, an accident occurred!
A gust of wind suddenly blew in from the window next to me.
The chandelier above their heads probably had some loose screws.
A sudden gust of wind blew it violently, and it swayed a few times, looking as if it was about to fall.
Jiang Nian had received training since childhood and had a sharp mind. Almost reflexively, she reached out and pushed Wen Yu back.
But Wen Yu reacted quickly, grabbing her almost simultaneously. He instinctively pulled her to his chest, placing his hand on the back of her head.
Wen Yu's back slammed into the wall behind him, and the two of them collided, avoiding the falling chandelier.
Immediately afterwards, there was a loud cracking sound.
The chandelier with its sharp edges fell directly to the ground and shattered into pieces.
That's too dangerous.
If that chandelier were to fall on someone's head, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Looking at the shards on the ground, the two of them simultaneously took a deep breath, feeling a lingering fear. However, after calming down, they realized something was wrong.
