Chapter 11 He's Here

Backstage at the dance hall, a heavily made-up woman sat on a sofa, smoking a cigarette while the bottle of liquor in her hand swayed back and forth.

"Su Ning, you did a good job tonight. I said I would bring you out to make money, and this is a good start."

Su Ning pursed her lips tightly; she wanted to question the person in front of her about why they had done this.

The door was pushed open, and the woman saw the man enter. She swayed her hips and, in a high-pitched voice, pressed herself against him.

"Brother Kun, what do you think? Isn't my girl pretty good?"

He Kun pinched the woman's buttocks. "Ruthless woman, she'd even lay a hand on her own sister."

Qiao Zhen spoke in a delicate, high-pitched voice, "People die for money, birds die for food. If they weren't greedy, how could I have tricked them into coming here?"

Su Ning felt that Qiao Zhen was a stranger now. The two had grown up together since childhood, and she thought that Qiao Zhen really wanted to bring her out to make money. She never expected that Qiao Zhen would sell her and several other people from the same village here.

She ran out of the restaurant in the morning and was pulled into a strange van. When she woke up again, she was here. Qiao Zhen threatened her that if she didn't behave, she would be sent to pick up customers.

Su Ning was very sensitive to the words "client". She begged Qiao Zhen, but it was no use. Akun wanted to keep her virginity to sell for a good price. It would be a pity to ruin such a beautiful girl.

Qiao Zhen said Su Ning sang well, so He Kun sent her here without thinking twice. He never expected that she would make him a fortune tonight.

He Kun sat on the sofa and looked at Su Ning, "As long as you listen to me and sing here well, you'll get plenty of benefits in the future."

Su Ning looked up. "I want to go home."

He Kun seemed to have heard a good joke, "Little sister, you probably don't understand the situation yet. People who come here either sell themselves or die. Do you think you have a third option?"

Su Ning looked at Qiao Zhen, hoping for a glimmer of hope.

"Zhenzhen! We grew up together. I don't care what you're doing here, but please, can you ask them to let me go?"

Qiao Zhen had Su Ning brought here because she was afraid Su Ning would go back and talk nonsense. After all, she was the one who brought Su Ning here. She had been keeping an eye on Su Ning since Sister Hua picked people off on the boat.

She only breathed a sigh of relief when she heard that Brother Leopard had taken a liking to her and brought her to work as a prostitute. Once you're in that kind of place, there's no chance of turning your life around.

Just when Qiao Zhen thought she wouldn't see Su Ning again, she unexpectedly saw him holding hands with a man to have lunch in the morning. Just in case, she had no choice but to contact He Kun to bring the man over.

Qiao Zhen walked up to Su Ning and said, "Ning'er, I don't trust you. I will only keep the secret if I turn you into one of my own or if you die."

Su Ning smiled sadly, rushed over, picked up the fruit knife on the table, and pointed it at those people.

"Don't come any closer," she said, slowly moving towards the door.

He Kun waved for his men to come over, "This kind of trick is something others have already played to death. Who do you think a fruit knife can hurt?"

As Su Ning watched the man approaching, she pointed the knife at her own neck.

“I can’t kill you, but I can kill myself. If I die here, the police will definitely come.”

He Kun stood up. "Little sister, you're too naive. We're the underworld. We can kill someone without anyone knowing."

Su Ning didn't want to be manipulated. Perhaps only death could free her from these people. She didn't want to become someone else's plaything.

"Mom and Dad! Your daughter is unfilial and may not be able to come home and reunite with you."

After saying that, Su Ning plunged the knife in her hand into her own neck with a loud clang.

Su Ning's knife fell to the ground as A Rang and his men burst in, then parted to make way for them.

Su Ning saw that A Rang's tears were about to overflow, and He Ci strolled over amidst everyone's compliments.

He walked up to Su Ning, stopped, and picked up the fruit knife from the ground.

"I thought you'd found a way to make money, but I never expected you to be bullied so badly."

Su Ning was nervous and scared. She still remembered the scene of splashing cold water on him that morning, and she didn't know if he would save her.
