Chapter 13 It Was You All Along

After listening to Su Ning's account, He Ci felt a little guilty, blaming himself for his sharp tongue and saying those things to the girl.

Fortunately, she was unharmed. If anything had happened to the girl, he would have truly committed a terrible sin.

He Ci carried Su Ning back to the apartment from last night. Su Ning hadn't worn shoes when she came out, and He Ci carried her all the way back.

Su Ning hadn't eaten all day and was starving. He Ci quickly returned with two dinners after leaving.

"It's too late, all the restaurants are closed, and all I can buy is noodles."

Su Ning looked at the steaming noodles with a golden poached egg inside, and a tear fell into the bowl with a plop.

He Ci pulled out a tissue and handed it to her. "Why are you crying? Don't you like noodles?"

Su Ning took the tissue and smiled. He looked up at He Ci.

"Thank you, you're a good person, you'll live to be a hundred."

Having received the "friend zone" card, He Ci looked at the girl's smile with a slightly dazed expression, "Hurry up and eat, or the noodles will get soggy."

After a long day of tossing and turning, Su Ning thought she wouldn't be able to sleep, but she slept soundly until dawn.

When Su Ning woke up, He Ci was no longer there. She saw a note on the table that must have been written by that man; He Ci's handwriting was strong, powerful, and beautiful.

"I'll be right back. Be a good girl and wait at home for breakfast."

Su Ning smiled and walked into the bathroom, where she saw the bed sheets that she had stained with blood yesterday piled up on the washing machine.

After washing up, Su Ning saw that it was still early, so she put the sheets in the washing machine and started cleaning.

Hearing the sound of the door opening outside, Su Ning put down what she was doing and went out to check. She saw A Rang directing a group of people to move things into the house.

Su Ning saw it was him and quickly went to greet him, "Sir, how did you find this place?"

A-Rang was a little puzzled. "It was my young master who sent this. He'll be here soon."

Su Ning knew that the young master he was talking about was the person who saved her, and she hadn't been able to thank him in person last time.

When He Ci brought over breakfast, he saw Su Ning and A Rang talking about something!

"You two know each other?"

Arang looked at He Ci suspiciously, "Young Master, you don't know her?"

He Ci was speechless. "We live together, how could we not recognize each other?"

After He Ci finished speaking, he felt that his words were ambiguous. When Su Ning heard A Rang call this man "Young Master," her heart skipped a beat. Could it be such a coincidence?

"You called him young master?"

Arang nodded, "Miss Su Ning! This is the second time my young master has saved you."

Boom! Something seemed to explode in He Ci's mind. He looked at Su Ning and thought of the person who bumped into him that day.

"You're that female ghost?"

Su Ning was stunned for a moment, and He Ci quickly changed his words.

"Oh no, you're that girl who came from the mainland and was illegally immigrated?"

He Ci felt that nothing he said was right, so he reorganized his thoughts.

"You must be Su Ning, the girl from the mainland. It seems we have quite a connection."

Su Ning knew that the person in front of her had saved her many times, and she tearfully wanted to kneel down before He Ci.

He Ci hurriedly helped the person up, saying, "What are you doing! You saved me once too, so we're even."

Su Ning looked at He Ci and slowly said, "No, your kindness is heavier than a mountain. You saved my life, and I will repay you."

He Ci leaned closer to Su Ning, "If you really want to repay me, can I name my own terms?"

Su Ning nodded heavily, and He Ci affectionately flicked the tip of her nose, creating an extremely ambiguous atmosphere.

Just kidding, come and eat.

Su Ning was led by He Ci to the restaurant. Breakfast consisted of the restaurant's specialties: steamed buns, fried dough sticks, and tea eggs. He Ci set out the breakfast and handed her a peeled tea egg.

When Su Ning learned that He Ci had saved her last time, she felt much more relaxed. No matter what the man in front of her did, at least he had been kind to her, so he was a good person.
