After several rounds, He Ci finally figured out their routine. At first, Su Lei and Zhu Zhou toasted He Ci, and He Ci was forced to drink many times.
Now it was He Ci's turn to retaliate. He picked up the bowl in front of Su Lei and filled it with wine.
Then He Ci picked up the bowl of wine and imitated how Zhu Zhou had toasted earlier.
“You are Ning’er’s older brother, and from now on you will be my brother-in-law. I’ll toast you with this bowl of wine.”
Su Lei liked to be flattered. He smiled and took the wine from He Ci's hand. He didn't have He Ci's courage to drink it all in one gulp, so he could only finish it in three sips.

Su Lei looked at the empty bowl in front of Zhu Zhou, then at his own half-full bowl. "These two are really going to be heartless tonight!" Su Lei closed his eyes, picked up his bowl, and finished the rest.
Su Lei had just put down his bowl when He Ci refilled it, including Zhu Zhou's. Su Ning had been worried that He Ci would suffer a loss, but now she smiled. When He Ci got cunning, he could easily outmaneuver both Zhu Zhou and Su Lei.
Women generally don't interrupt when men are drinking. After Su Ning, Su Tian, Sun Man, and Wang Meng finished eating, they went inside to talk. Su An also went back to her room after finishing her meal.

When Li Xiaojuan heard that her children had returned home, she put on her clothes and went out to check. She saw her eldest son hugging the table leg and crying.
Su Mao felt ashamed, so he went over and dragged Su Lei into the room. Li Xiaojuan felt sorry for her son, and although she cursed and swore, she still fetched water for her son to wash up.
The consequence of being drunk is a headache the next day. This was He Ci's first time being drunk. He used to be wary even when he was sleeping, but here he was completely drunk.
He Ci rubbed his throbbing head and smelled the other scents mixed in with the air in the room.
