He Ci was quite busy on his first day out of prison. After taking care of his affairs, he drove back to Rose Community alone.
As soon as she got home, Su Ning threw herself into his arms. She hadn't been able to eat or sleep properly for the past two days since she hadn't seen He Ci.
He Ci hugged the person and gently coaxed, "Alright, now that we're back, let's tidy up and go back to the old house for dinner."
The thought of going to the He family made Su Ning feel a little uneasy. Although her in-laws had accepted her, the difference in status and position between the two families still made Su Ning feel inferior.

After they went downstairs, A-Rang and A-Li were waiting below. They knew that Su Ning had now married He Ci, so they changed their address from Miss Su to Young Madam.
The car arrived at the He family's old residence at 7:30. He Jin asked the servants to wait at the door, and He Ci's car stopped inside the manor.
When Zhu Xia and He Jin heard the noise outside, they knew that their son and daughter-in-law must have returned.
Su Ning was stunned by the scene before her after getting out of the car. It was a mountain, and the house was built halfway up the mountain. The pavilions and towers inside were antique, magnificent and grand.
He Ci leaned close to Su Ning's ear and whispered, "Wife, this is our home. If you like it, we can come and stay here often."
Su Ning felt a little embarrassed about her earlier outburst. She had underestimated the He family's wealth. A family that could easily come up with ten million as a betrothal gift must be living a good life.
As the two entered the hall, Zhu Xia walked over with a smile. Her son and daughter-in-law were finally back; she had missed them terribly after not seeing them for almost half a year.
"Ning'er, why didn't you come home to stay right away? Mom had already had your rooms tidied up."
Su Ning smiled and greeted them, "Mom, we came back in a bit of a rush. We were thinking of coming back with Ci-ge to see you and Dad."
He Zhan's face softened when his daughter-in-law mentioned him.
"It's getting late, and the children are probably hungry. Let's have the food served!"
The meal was plentiful, clearly prepared with care. Su Ning was a little reserved, as it was his first time formally dining with the He family.
He Jin greeted Su Ning with a smile, "Sister-in-law, treat this place as your own home from now on. Mom and Dad are reasonable people, and we don't have that many rules in our family."
He Ci placed a piece of sweet and sour pork into Su Ning's bowl, and then spoke to everyone at the table.
“Ning’er and I have been staying at home recently. Please take good care of my wife. We’ll go back home after we’re done with our work.”
He Zhan and Zhu Xia both hope that their son and daughter-in-law can stay, as they are getting old and want to spend more time with their children.
"You little rascal, you make it sound like our family would mistreat Ning'er. You know Ning'er is your precious gem, but you've really forgotten your mother after getting married. How unfilial!"
He Jin also wanted to tease her younger brother a bit, "Of course, your precious son is amazing! He even managed to get married while he was in labor camp."
He Ci didn't like hearing this. Anyone could expose someone's shortcomings. "Miss He Jin, I heard that Zhu Zhou is coming to Gangcheng soon. I wonder if you two have been in contact?"
He Jin choked. How could this brat know about her affair with Zhu Zhou, which was such a secret?
"Who is this person you don't know in Zhuzhou? Is he your friend?"
He Ci watched He Jin's performance and said, "Keep pretending. If you don't know them, there's no need to introduce them to Mom and Dad."
“I originally thought that since he took such good care of me in the village, and Gangcheng is practically our hometown, I wanted to bring him over so that my parents could meet him.”
He Zhan hadn't felt such a lively atmosphere in a long time. He used to be so busy with work that he couldn't take care of his wife and children. Now that he's retired, he knows what the joy of family life is.
