After an unknown amount of time, the gunfire outside gradually stopped. Su Ning was about to open the door to go out and ask for help when she suddenly heard footsteps coming towards the rooftop.
Su Ning held her breath in fright. The pain in her lower abdomen almost made her faint. Su Ning bit her lip hard. This was the child she had longed for for so long. It absolutely could not be harmed.
The footsteps grew closer, and Su Ning could almost feel that the person had discovered her. The heavy smell of blood filled the small, secret room, and Su Ning felt that she was about to collapse.
A sudden, sharp pain shot through her lower abdomen. Su Ning felt as if something was coming out. Her hair was already soaked with sweat. She collapsed to the ground, feeling helpless and heartbroken. She knew that was the sensation of her child leaving her body.
As dawn approached, the door to the secret room was opened from the outside. Su Ning only dared to call for help after she vaguely saw who it was. Bai Yi saw the person lying in a pool of blood and rushed forward.
"Su Ning, hang in there, I'll take you to the hospital."
Su Ning gripped Bai Yi's arm tightly, her eyes bloodshot.
"Ayi, quick... quick, save my child."
Su Ning fainted after speaking. Bai Yi saw a pool of blood on the ground and... a ball of flesh. He couldn't bear to look at it.

"What did you say! What do you mean Dad is gone? What happened to Ci-ge? Say something!"
Bai Yi closed his eyes but still spoke. "Aci was ambushed and her whereabouts are still unknown."
Su Ning felt as if the sky had fallen, and her vision went black as she fainted.
Bai Yi didn't want to say so much to her, but He Jin and Zhu Zhou had gone to the mainland and hadn't returned yet, thus escaping a disaster. The He family still needed Su Ning.
Qi Yan, Lu Zhou, and Xiao Lin all knew that something had happened to the He family! They rushed to the hospital and were filled with anger and heartache upon learning that He Ci was missing, He Zhan was dead, Zhu Xia was in a coma, and the baby was gone.
A-Rang and A-Li were still searching for He Ci on the island. They were just a little short of catching up when the ship exploded, and He Ci was unable to escape.
Upon learning of He Ci's accident, Luca immediately dispatched people to search for and rescue him, while Cui Ying went to the hospital.
Seeing a lot of people at the door, she realized the situation was more serious than she had imagined. Su Ning had already fainted for the third time; a young girl like her simply couldn't withstand such a blow.
He Jin arrived three days later, accompanied by Zhu Zhou Su Lei. He Jin had rushed back overnight after hearing about the incident at home.
Upon arriving at the hospital, He Jin first visited Zhu Xia. The doctor said that Zhu Xia had injured her head and had a very low chance of waking up; she might become a vegetable.
He Jin is, after all, the eldest daughter of a powerful underworld family, and her resilience is much better than Su Ning's.
After leaving Zhu Xia's ward, He Jin visited Su Ning again. Now that her younger brother was gone, she was the only one left in the family who could hold on.
Su Ning broke down upon seeing He Jin, and He Jin came over and hugged her.
"It's alright, your sister is here, don't be afraid."
Su Ning sobbed uncontrollably in He Jin's arms, "Sister, Dad is gone, and so is the baby. Brother Ci won't abandon me, right?"
He Jin also learned about her brother's disappearance on the way here! She patted Su Ning's back and comforted her softly.
