That evening, Su Ning deliberately didn't prepare a room for He Ci, and instead brought him home to see what he was up to.
He Ci pushed open the door and saw Su Ning lying on the bed in her pajamas. He turned to leave but Su Ning stopped him.
Where are you going?
He Ci didn't dare turn around. "Go to sleep."
Su Ning got off the bed. "This is your room. You can't go anywhere tonight; you have to stay here."
He Ci turned around, then expressionlessly took off his coat and approached Su Ning step by step.
"You want me to sleep with you so badly? Looks like Boss Su is really short of men. It doesn't seem like sleeping with you would be a bad deal, considering how good-looking you are."
Su Ning was forced to sit down on the bed by him. He Ci bent down, pinched Su Ning's chin, and then leaned close to her from above.
"It smells really good, but I wonder what it will feel like to sleep on it."
"Smack."
A resounding slap landed squarely on He Ci's cheek, and Su Ning's eyes were filled with suppressed tears.
"I don't care if you're really suffering from amnesia or not. You shouldn't have insulted me today. If you don't want to stay, then get out."
He Ci got up lazily and left the room unhurriedly. The moment the door closed, he heard Su Ning crying.
He Ci sat on the wall by the door and said, "Little darling, now is not the time. I will make you get your revenge for today's grievances later."
That's right, He Ci has regained his memory. The moment A Rang showed him the marriage certificate, he remembered everything.
He still has a lot to do now that he's back. The Crows have already been mobilized. Three years ago, he failed to protect his parents, wife, and children. This time, he will not let tragedy happen again, no matter what.
As for the mastermind behind it all, he was determined to bring that person to justice, even if it meant mutual destruction.
Right now, Su Ning's safety is the most important thing. He knows those people. The mission won't end until Su Ning dies. He wants to draw all the danger onto himself.
The next morning, Su Ning went downstairs and saw an awkward scene. Bai Yi had made it a habit to come to the old house for breakfast, and Su Ning had forgotten to tell him that he didn't need to come anymore.
The atmosphere downstairs wasn't good. He Ci had a cold face, and Bai Yi didn't even look at him, just ladling out porridge and setting out breakfast.
Seeing Su Ning come down, he greeted her skillfully, as if Bai Yi were the master of the house.
He Ci gripped his chopsticks tightly, but in the end he didn't say anything. The atmosphere in the restaurant was tense. Su Ning ignored He Ci because of what happened last night, and instead chatted and laughed with Bai Yi.
He Ci felt terrible. In the end, he couldn't stand the two of them exchanging glances, so he angrily slammed his chopsticks down, got up, and left.
After He Ci left, Su Ning's tears fell into the bowl. She didn't know why, but as long as He Ci was there, she didn't want to be strong. She just wanted to be a happy little woman.
Bai Yi handed a tissue to Su Ning, saying, "Your tears have fallen into your bowl; it's not good to eat like this."
Su Ning didn't look up; she didn't want Bai Yi to see her in such a disheveled state.
"Ah Yi, Ci-ge is back. You don't need to come anymore, it's inconvenient."
Bai Yi had known this would happen, but he was still hurt when Su Ning told him it in person.
"Susu, I came here today to talk to you about this! I've already told the maid about your habits: eat less cold drinks, don't drink coffee at night, and also..."
"That's enough..."
Su Ning didn't want Bai Yi to continue. She felt that she was heartless. With He Ci's return, all the kindness Bai Yi had shown her had become a joke.
Bai Yi got up, ladled out another bowl of soup, and pushed it in front of Su Ning.
"Take good care of yourself from now on and eat breakfast."
After Bai Yi finished speaking, he left. Su Ning picked up the porridge on the table and stuffed it into her mouth one spoonful at a time until she couldn't eat anymore, at which point she cried and spat it out.
The meal ended badly for all three of them, and it wasn't just one of them who was upset.
