That evening, Bai Weiwei returned home looking unhappy.
Ms. Ma saw her daughter looking like a resentful woman and asked her what was wrong.
"Hey! Who's upset you this time?"
Bai Weiwei gritted her teeth in anger. "It's all because of that gangster leader, who actually tried to steal my sister-in-law."
Upon hearing this, Ms. Ma happily came over and asked, "What? Sister-in-law, does your brother have a girlfriend?"
Before Bai Weiwei could answer Ms. Ma, the door was pushed open, and Bai Yi entered to find his mother staring at him with an ambiguous look.
"Ms. Ma, why are you looking at me like that?"
Ma Ying leaned closer to her son and asked, "Big brother, when are you going to bring your girlfriend home for Mom to meet?"
Bai Yi was completely bewildered. He placed his hand on Ma Ying's forehead and touched it.
“Ms. Ma, you’re talking nonsense even though you don’t have a fever.”
Ma Ying slapped her son's hand away, "Stop pretending, your sister already told me."
Seeing Bai Weiwei trying to slip away, Bai Yi strode over, grabbed her by the back of her collar, and threw her onto the sofa.
"Explain yourself! Don't even think about leaving until you can explain it clearly."
Bai Weiwei fawned over Bai Yi's arm, "Big brother, it's like this, I met a girl today who is very beautiful and speaks so gently. I want her to be my sister-in-law."
Ms. Ma quickly sat down and asked excitedly, "How beautiful is she? I'll bring her home and introduce her to your brother tomorrow."
Bai Weiwei gritted her teeth in anger as she spoke, "I originally wanted to take him home, but that thug thwarted my plan."
Bai Yi knew who the gang leader his sister was talking about was, and the two started fighting as soon as they met.
"You saw He Ci?"
Bai Weiwei jumped up from the sofa. "Ning'er is such a gentle girl, she absolutely cannot be ruined by that scoundrel."
Seeing her daughter so excited, Ma Ying quickly pulled her down to sit.
"Is that girl named Ning'er really as good as you say?"
Bai Weiwei nodded vigorously, "Her name is Su Ning, she's from the mainland, she's beautiful and gentle, and her smile is especially healing."
Bai Yi felt that his younger sister was exaggerating. He didn't want to gossip with these two women. It was rare that there were no cases at the police station, so he wanted to get a good night's sleep.

He slept soundly through the night and woke up early. He quietly went to Su Ning's room and looked at the girl who was still fast asleep. A handsome smile appeared on his lips.
Recalling the kiss from last night, He Ci felt a surge of tenderness in his heart. He gently leaned closer to Su Ning and kissed her forehead lightly.
He Ci had never cared about any girl before; Su Ning was the only person he wanted to protect.
He placed the envelope from yesterday on Su Ning's bedside table and then left quietly.
He Ci was going on a long trip. In the morning, he received a call from the old man asking him to handle a batch of goods.
Many people in the gang are now dissatisfied with him. He doesn't do anything except drug trafficking, smuggling, or human trafficking, but he's involved in most other gang activities.
As long as his bottom line isn't crossed, he's the one negotiating all the business deals in the gang. How could someone without real power hold onto the position of the underworld's heir?
His only worry was Su Ning; he was afraid that Su Ning would be scared if he left.
With him around, no one dared to touch Su Ning. He didn't know how long it would be before he returned, and he only hoped that his little darling would be safe.
Bai Weiwei was half asleep when her phone rang and woke her up. She reached for her phone without even opening her eyes.
The sound of He Ci's voice on the other end of the line completely banished her sleepiness, and Bai Weiwei started yelling into the phone.
"You pervert, don't you feel ashamed for disturbing people's sleep so early in the morning?"
He Ci's serious voice came from the other end, "Xiao Bai, I need your help with something..."
