Ou Lin stayed in the hospital for a week and kept asking to go home. Bai Yi was very busy, going to work in the morning and coming home in the evening to take care of her.
Oulin didn't want Bai Yi to go through so much hardship, so after much pleading, Oulsen finally allowed her to be discharged from the hospital.
Oulin wanted to move to Bai Yi's house to recuperate, but Ou Sen disagreed, and the two siblings even had a fight over it.
He Ci and Su Ning have been inseparable lately, and with the couple's joint efforts, the gang is slowly getting back on track, and their territory is developing in a positive direction.
He Ci wasn't ignoring what Olsen had done, but the time wasn't right. The Gao family was the scapegoat, and He Ci wasn't blind. It wouldn't be easy to bring Olsen down in one fell swoop.
In this port city, Olsen could control everything. He already had the status, but greed was insatiable; he also wanted the wealth of the underworld.
The evidence we have now is not enough to bring him down; it can only alert him. We must remain still until new evidence emerges.
The New Year is just around the corner. He Ci sat in the car looking at the scenery outside the window. He remembered that the last time he spent the New Year was in the village. In the blink of an eye, three years have passed.
"Sizzle!"
The sound of tires rubbing against the ground reached He Ci's ears, and he lurched forward.
Ali pushed open the car door and got out to check, while A-Rang turned back to explain to He-Ci!
"It seems we hit someone. Ali has gone down to check."
He Ci nodded. "Ali's driving skills are very good. Be careful."
There was a knock on the car window, and Ali came over to report it.
"Young Master He, you should go down and take a look!"
He Ci frowned. Ali could usually handle such a small matter; it was either that the person who bumped into him was the problem.
Afraid of being tricked, A-Rang tried to stop him, but He Ci had already gotten out of the car. A-Rang quickly unbuckled his seatbelt and followed him out.
He Ci saw a girl lying on the ground, her long black hair covering her face, so he couldn't see her features.
Ali stepped forward and parted the girl's hair. He Ci's pupils shrank. Not only him, but even A Rang was shocked. No wonder Ali asked them to come down.
The girl lying on the ground looked remarkably like Su Ning, about seven-tenths of her appearance. Ali had initially thought he had bumped into the woman.
"Take him to the hospital."
He Ci was only stunned for a moment. Once he came to his senses, he ignored it and calmly left with A Rang, leaving Ali to clean up the mess.
The next morning, He Ci and Su Ning went to the headquarters together. On the way, He Ci received a call from Ali and glanced at Su Ning.
The two were very close, and Su Ning could clearly hear the conversation. After hanging up the phone, He Ci asked a question.
"Honey, are you sure your mother only has you as her daughter?"
Su Ning didn't know what He Ci wanted to say! "What's wrong? There are only two children in my family, my younger brother and me."
He Ci knew about Su Ning's family connections. If he hadn't seen the girl's face yesterday, he really wouldn't have believed that two people could look so alike.
"Wife, I have something to take care of. I'll take you to the headquarters first, and I'll come over later."
Su Ning didn't think much of it. He Ci dropped her off at the door and drove away. Su Ning didn't care what He Ci did outside unless he asked her to.
Everyone has their own private space, and Su Ning didn't want to interfere too much. He Ci had his reasons for not saying, just like with her and Bai Yi, sometimes the more you explain, the worse it gets.
In the ward, the girl bit her lip pitifully, with gauze on her head. If you didn't look closely, you might mistake her for Su Ning.
Ali watched as He Ci entered through the door, and he went over to describe the girl's situation.
“Young Master He, this girl hasn’t said a word since she woke up; she just keeps crying.”
He Ci looked at the girl on the hospital bed. His vision blurred for a moment. Not only did she look like Su Ning, but even her crying expression was exactly the same as Su Ning's three years ago.
