Outside the hospital ward, two plainclothes police officers were guarding the door. Su Ning was still under suspicion, and Bai Yi knew Su Ning's character; he was just going through the motions.
He Ci finally got to see his wife and took care of her almost every step of the way, afraid that something might happen to her if she left his sight.

He Ci hadn't had enough of teasing her yet. He climbed onto the single bed, hugged Su Ning from behind, and whispered in her ear.

Su Ning pulled the blanket over her head. She couldn't control He Ci's mouth, but she could control her ears.
