Su Ning sat on the sofa, watching the two noisy people opposite her, and smiled faintly.
He Ci and Bai Weiwei bicker the moment they meet; anyone who didn't know better would think they were a estranged couple.
He Ci never expected that when he asked Bai Weiwei to help take care of Su Ning, this crazy girl would actually try to steal her away from him.
He Ci was so angry that his chest felt so tight he couldn't breathe. Luckily, his little darling hadn't been taken away, or he would have torn the police station apart.
Knowing she was in the wrong but too proud to admit it, Bai Weiwei went to sit down next to Su Ning.
“Ning’er! He yelled at me. I’m a girl, after all.”
Su Ning looked at He Ci, and the two stared at each other. He looked even more pitiful than Bai Weiwei.
Su Ning got up, walked up to He Ci, and took his hand, their fingers intertwined.
Bai Weiwei looked at Su Ning in disbelief, "Ning'er! You don't love me anymore, waaaaah..."
He Ci felt he had finally turned the tables, and he took Su Ning's clasped hand and kissed it.
Su Ning was so frightened that she wanted to pull back, after all, it wasn't just the two of them at home.
"Little darling, you're the best to me. Let's go shopping."
Upon hearing that they were going shopping, Bai Weiwei stopped pretending and ran to He Ci's side, taking his arm.
"You scoundrel, take me with you!"
He Ci quickly pulled his arm away, "Get out of here, we're not acquainted."
Su Ning was puzzled by Bai Weiwei's quick change of expression, and then she saw Bai Weiwei move closer to He Ci.
"He Ci, Young Master He, Your Highness, please forgive my mistake and don't hold it against me. It was all my fault just now. How about we go shopping together?"
An hour later, Su Ning finally understood why Bai Weiwei had been so obsequious in trying to please He Ci.
Grand Hyatt Mall is the largest shopping plaza here, and this is Su Ning's first time visiting such a large mall.
Bai Weiwei excitedly pulled Su Ning inside. The two entered a clothing store, where the colorful clothes were almost blinding to Su Ning's eyes.
The biggest shopping mall she had ever been to since she was a child was the Zhaoshang City in the county town, where the clothes were novel and many of them were things Su Ning had never seen before.
Bai Weiwei would ask the shop assistant to bring down anything she liked, and soon she had picked out a whole bunch.
Turning around, she saw Su Ning still standing there. She pulled Su Ning up and pointed to a row of clothes in front of her.
"Ning'er! Don't be shy, we'll buy whichever one you like."
Su Ning quickly waved her hand, "Weiwei, I have clothes, you can buy them yourself."
He Ci walked to Su Ning's side, his eyes full of tenderness, "Take a look and see if there's anything you like?"
Su Ning shook her head. Who doesn't like new clothes? The clothes here look expensive. She doesn't have a job yet and can't spend money recklessly.
He Ci noticed his concerns and beckoned a shop assistant over.
"Bring over all the best clothes here and let her try them on."
Su Ning tried to refuse, but Bai Weiwei pulled her into the fitting room. The shop assistant picked out a bunch of clothes, which Bai Weiwei then carried into the fitting room.
Su Ning looked at the price tag on the coat; it cost over 500 yuan. She was so shocked that she quickly put it down.
Then she picked up a sweater, which felt very comfortable to the touch and was probably made of wool. Su Ning looked at the price tag and found that it cost more than two hundred yuan.
Bai Weiwei took the sweater from Su Ning's hand and held it up against her body.
"Ning'er, this sweater suits you very well. Winter is coming soon, so I'll buy two to have on hand."
"Weiwei, this dress is too expensive, I... I can't afford it."
Su Ning's face flushed red as soon as she finished speaking, and Bai Weiwei suddenly realized what she meant.
"Ning'er! So that's what you're worried about. Don't worry, no matter how many clothes you buy today, someone will pay for them."
Su Ning knew who Bai Weiwei was talking about. She didn't want He Ci to spend money, as she already owed him a debt she couldn't repay.
Bai Weiwei knew her concerns. "Let me put it this way, Ning'er! If you don't spend He Ci's money, someone else will."
“He would tip more than 500 yuan for a single night at a nightclub, and his spending in one night would be tens of thousands of yuan. These clothes were just the price of a tip to him.”
Su Ning tightened her grip after hearing Bai Weiwei's words, but said nothing. It turned out that the distance between them was much greater than she had imagined.
