After Luna left, Su Ning remained lost in her own thoughts, to the point that she mistakenly arranged the flowers for the guests several times.
Seeing that Ning'er looked distracted, Xiaoyu asked with concern, "Ning'er, are you feeling unwell? Why don't you stop working and go home to rest?"
Su Ning smiled somewhat reluctantly, "I'm fine! You go ahead and do your work, don't worry about me."
Su Ning's condition persisted until noon; she felt so suffocated that she had no motivation to work.
In the end, she couldn't stay until the end of the workday and left early. Su Ning breathed in the outside air and felt less depressed.
The street was bustling, and looking at the prosperous city made Su Ning feel a little homesick. She saw a phone booth not far away and slowly walked over to it.
As usual, Su Ning first called her neighbor's house. When her parents heard it was Su Ning calling, they put down what they were doing and rushed home.
Hearing her parents' familiar voices, the emotions she had suppressed all day finally erupted.
Su Ning choked up as she asked about the situation at home. Li Mei noticed that her daughter was upset and asked her with concern.
"What's wrong with Ning'er! Is she crying?"
Not wanting her parents to worry, Su Ning calmed herself down and smiled as she spoke.
"Mom, I'm fine, I just miss home a little."
Liu Mei was heartbroken. Her daughter had always been well-behaved and obedient, and this was the first time she had been away from home for so long.
“Ning’er, come back if things don’t go well outside! Our family’s debts are almost paid off, and your parents don’t want you to suffer so much alone outside.”
Su Ning covered her mouth to stop herself from making a sound. After hanging up the phone, she squatted down and hid in the phone booth to cry.
Su Ning cried for a while before she felt less choked up. At some point, a pair of black men's leather shoes appeared in front of her.
Su Ning looked up and saw it was him. Bai Yi reached out and handed Su Ning a tissue.
"Thanks!"
Su Ning took the tissue and slowly stood up. Bai Yi had already noticed her, but he didn't come forward to greet her until she squatted down and cried. Only then did Bai Yi come forward.
"Are you having any difficulties? Do you need my help?"
Su Ning shook her head. "I'm fine, I just miss home."
Bai Yi looked at his wristwatch; it was almost midnight.
Have you eaten? I'll treat you.
Su Ning wanted to refuse, after all, she wasn't familiar with him yet; he was just Weiwei's brother.
"No need, I..."
"Don't tell me you've already eaten. This is the first time I've treated a girl to a meal, so please don't refuse me."
After thinking for a moment, Su Ning finally followed Bai Yi to a nearby restaurant because she was also hungry.
The news that He Ci had opened a flower shop in Shuiwan quickly reached Yu Ping and Qin Lu's ears.
I heard that Luna went to check out the location early in the morning, and the two of them were afraid that if they arrived late, He Ci would give the flower shop to Luna.
Su Ning's heart, which had just been comforted by Bai Yi, sank a little, because two more women who claimed to be He Ci's fiancées arrived that afternoon.
Judging from the tone of their voices, the two girls knew the one from this morning.
Su Ning never expected that He Ci would toy with her feelings. She spent the afternoon thinking a lot, and perhaps He Ci was just playing with her.
He's so rich and good-looking, not to mention those three girls are all very pretty. They even started bragging to each other in the store about how good He Ci was to them.
After closing the shop that night, Su Ning saw Bai Weiwei not far away. She ran over and gave Su Ning a big hug.
"Weiwei, when did you arrive? Why didn't you come in to look for me?"
Bai Weiwei smiled ambiguously, "My brother told me you were homesick, so he asked me to come and keep you company."
Su Ning looked embarrassed. "I'm fine! Don't listen to your brother's nonsense."
Bai Weiwei took her hand and started walking. Su Ning had no choice but to follow her without saying anything.
Su Ning didn't want to go home. She didn't know how to face He Ci. She wasn't the type to make a fuss, and she was afraid she would burst into tears if she saw He Ci.
Men don't like pretentious women; crying and whining are annoying. She has this kind of weak personality, and she doesn't want He Ci to dislike her.
